- 100% ISoT Early vs Late Comparison (Timings by Kyle)

- SUMMARY:
- - Videos are in the pastebin (some errors in one video were accounted for)
- - We timed two routes. One that did ISoT Early (and thus room key inverted) and one that did ISoT Late (and thus room key uninverted).
- - Both of these route timings assumed risky item recovery
- - ISoT Late Route can potentially time ISoT perfectly to skip SoDT to Day 2 after razor sword (saves a max of 12.5s). This was not accounted for in our timing as it appears unrealistic (when you need to ISoT depends on how many tries postman was and it requires near perfect gameplay after playing ISoT (optimally) and we don't even know that we'd have ocarina equipped when we need to play ISoT to begin with)
- - If doing safe item recovery, Early ISoT Route should definitely be faster. Also, failing item recovery would lose significantly less time in this route as we get beaver bottle on night 1 anyway
- - We timed ISoT Late Route (risky) to be ~1.5s faster. However, this assumed a very unrealistic laundry pool fish catch (which would probably never happen in a run (or even practice), it was edited to be "perfect"). In reality, ISoT Late Route would lose several seconds here on average which would make ISoT Early faster
- - It does not appear to be totally unrealistic to get some of the timesave from the Day 2 SoDT skip in the ISoT Late route, but most of this timesave would probably be cancelled from the pool fish
- - The ISoT Early route overall seems easier to optimize and has less rng (no pool fish) and less variance to trick failures overall
- - Feel free to make your own decision based on this information, but my personal suggestion would be to use the ISoT Early route (i.e. lens cave -> wf1 -> goron + sirloin -> clock town stuff -> ... -> beavers night 1 before midnight meeting, etc.; i.e. this is very similar Cycle 2 route compared to pre wallet dupe route that most people are familiar with)
