  1. F.A.Q. for the Pokemon Blue and Red 150 Pokemon Co-Op Glitchless Category
  2.
  3. Q: How does this category work?
  4. A: There must be 150 pokemon captured on both the Red and Blue Cart. The run is over when both runners have received their diploma from the GameFreak Employee in the Celadon Condos
  5.
  6. Q: What are the rules?
  7. A: Go here http://pastebin.com/eDLBK4zt
  8.
  9. Q: But how is that possible with only two carts? There are 3 starters, and 3 eevee evolutions.
  10. A: The Pokemon Blue runner will be setting up a dummy file to get a 3rd Eevee as fast as possible. Once he has it he will trade it (plus the Squirtle starter), and start 2 new files to get Bulbasaur and Charmander.
  11.
  12. Q: What about Mew? Why not 151 pokemon?
  13. A: A couple things: This is a glitchless run (therefore you are unable to get Mew), and you don't need him for the diploma. Mew is technically an easter egg in the NA versions.
  14.
  15. Q: Is this an official pokemon category? I’ve never seen Werster run this before...
  16. A: No, This is something both of us wanted to do for fun. Our hope is that other runners may find interest in this, but for now we’re doing it for fun
  17.
  18. Q: What is the world record?
  19. A: The current record is 11:29:49 by SurrealGuy and TresBien. However, the run was done on VBA, which speeds up the game. Their RTA time is about 20-30 minutes faster than if it was done on cartridges. It is still way faster than our current PB (14:00:17), so it is the world record.
  20.
  21. Q: Why not use Pokemon Yellow and a get a third runner?
  22. A: We wanted to do the original pokemon games, and three runners becomes way too trade heavy.
  23.
  24. Q: Did you forget about (insert pokemon here)?
  25. A: No we didn't. Either we caught it, or are going to catch it later in the run.
  26.
  27. Q: How do you trade?
  28. A: We are both using the Game Boy Player add-on for the Nintendo Gamecube.
  29.
  30. Q: Why do you fight the Elite 4 so many times?
  31. A: The Elite 4 kills two birds with one stone. It allows us to get enough money to buy pokemon at the Celadon Game Corner (Scyther in Red, Pinsir and Porygon in Blue) and it allows us to quickly raise our pokemon so they evolve faster.
  32.
  33. Q: Why not use some rare candies?
  34. A: We save all our rare candies to use on Dragonair. Because it evolves at level 55, he takes the longest to level up otherwise. There are 26 rare candies across both games, but 3 aren't accessible to the Red cartridge due to skipping areas with cut and 6 more are used for leveling up Blastoise and Nidoking so we can beat the game faster.
  35.
  36. Q: Can I see the current route?
  37. A: You can, but they are not posted online yet. =(
