- BACKGROUND
- Race: Kuranta
- Faction: Kazimierz
- Gender: Male (he/him?)
- Operator Chariot, competition knight retiree and former citizen of Kazimierz, is now acting as a Guard Operator for Rhodes Island, following a leasing agreement between Destrider Knightclub and Rhodes Island.
- Chariot's beloved sword, the Mountcleaver, is undoubtedly a bespoke piece of equipment- not just for its sheer size and bulk, but also for the surprising amount of complexity behind the weapon itself. While it was marketed to Kazimierz suits as a "weapon" capable of cutting down a rider and mount both, the sword itself, along with its accompanying sheath, has multiple attachment points that wouldn't logically make sense on a weapon with such a cause. When the Engineering Department took in the Mountcleaver for inspections, Chariot was contractually unable to provide any specific details regarding its construction, but Engineering managed to infer enough from what he could say to refurbish it into a more understandable design that Engineering could better work with in the future.
- When asked why he carried such an unusual piece of weaponry, Chariot paused to think, and asserted that it was a gift from someone close to him, and he means to use it until he understands its meaning to his "quest."
- What does it mean to be a hero?
- This is a question that plagues Chariot still. While Rhodes Island cannot answer such quandaries for its Operators, it must provide adequate care for their health, both physical and mental. It's clear that, whatever brought such a question on, it's heavily affected Chariot, and his distant idealization of both the many knights-turned-Operators and Elite Operators may be a clue to what ails him. For now, Operator Enka is keeping close watch on him as his captain.
- NOTES:
- * "Standing Death" references the Standing Death of Benkei (弁慶の立往生).
- * "Demon Cleaver" is derived from Zanmato (斬魔刀). Chariot's sword is inspired by the Zanbato (斬馬刀), from which Zanmato is an alternate reading of. Also, the summon Yojimbo from Final Fantasy X, a summon based off of Gilgamesh from the Final Fantasy series, who references Benkei in a number of ways, has Zanmato as one of its strongest attacks.
