  1. The Legend of the Elves - DonJTrump
  2.
  3. Long ago, before the time of mankind, magical creatures ruled the Realm. Existing harmoniously, these beings were pure of heart and traversed the land peacefully. Nature bloomed effortlessly, flowers dotted the landscape and the sun never seemed to set; tranquility thrived.
  4. Unoticingly, an entity emerged from the darkness, its tendrils of wrath and greed burrowing into morals of these creatures, promising them power and glory. It created senseless violence and chaos, turning allies into enemies, all to reach its desire of complete destruction. Cities burned as its army of monsters marched across the world, and it seemed all hope was lost.
  5. But there were some creatures who remained untouched by the malicious influence, the Elves being the strongest of them. Amongst the many races, the Elves stood at the top, creating extraordinary contraptions and revolutionizing the way of magic. They had developed the first written language, built massive structures and now, recognized they were the last chance of saving the Realm. To win against an army five times the size of theirs, Erlan, God of the Elves, infused magic throughout all the weapons the Elves had crafted; Arrows that would always find their targets, swords that could cut through any armor, and staffs infused with powerful spells and enchantments.
  6. The many clashes during the War culminated in one final battle, the Elves defending their home, the last sanctuary of peace. The Elves were resilient and brave as they fought alongside Erlan, pushing back the army across the scorched terrain. Despite the Elves suffering heavy casualties, the monsters were defeated, and only their master remained. Erlan recognized this evil as something that could not be slain, as it existed above gods. But the malevolent presence was weakened from the battle, allowing Erlan to cast a spell that banished the monster back to its wretched abode.
  7. . After the War, the remaining monsters roamed the land, the wickedness in their hearts inherited by their offspring. And although they had won, Erlan, too weak from using the last of his magic, and the Elves barely recovered, watched as the Realm continued to be overtaken. It seemed that the entity had prevailed in the end. But the Elves started hearing tales of a new species growing, creatures called “Humans”. Unlike the monsters, many of these Humans were pure of heart, working together instead of fighting one another. The Elves saw this as nature’s way of balancing the good and evil in the world, deciding to protect and teach the Humans.
  8. Hundreds of years went by, and under the guidance of the Elves, the new race grew stronger. Adopting fighting styles, magic and knowledge, Humans became a dominant force in the world. They managed to hold back the monsters from consuming the land with their hatred, serving as the protectors of the land.
  9. During that time, a divide soon grew in the Elf community, as some Elves had started living and mating with the Humans. The Elves were split over this, as one group believed the races should be kept separate to avoid unintended consequences, while others believed it was all hysteria. As the generations continued, the Elf population declined as their children with the Humans had lost many of the magical creatures’ traits. Infuriated by the loss of their culture and people, the resistant Elf group parted way with their kind.
  10. Furthermore, Erlan had grown too weak to rule over the Elves, settling upon a successor to rule in his place, thus starting the Elf King lineage. Serving under Erlan, but enforcing what he spoke, the Kings remained loyal to the Elfs in their own kingdom as well as the Humans.
  11. As the century progressed, unbeknownst to the Realm, the spell that held the evil entity had started to erode. The spell still held it captive in the void, unable to physically manifest itself in the world, limiting its capabilities. Targeting the Humans, once again It attempted to influence the purity, and while not as effective as before, the infection has begun. With the Elves divided and small in numbers, the Humans oblivious to the evil presence, the chaos could not be stopped. Seeking a vessel, the entity chose a strong warrior named Oryx. Succumbing to his own desires of power, Oryx accepted the entity’s powers to help him rule the Realm. Under his stringent, cruel leadership, monsters overtook the world, destroying Kingdoms and leaving the Humans scattered. The resistant Elfs, renamed the“Dark Elves”, embraced the despotic power of Oryx, wanting revenge against the Humans. Led by the Dark Elf Queen, Velatha, these Elves continue to this day to serve under Oryx, hunting down Humans and slaying them.
  12. The remaining Elves, serving under their King, vehemently opposed Oryx, seeing that his intentions were controlled by pure evil. Traveling the land, the Elves set it upon themselves to find wandering Humans, and direct them to the Nexus, the last safehaven in the Realm. Oryx, furious at their insubordination, attacked the Elves, but instead of killing them, decided to turn them into his minions. Old and weak, Erlan stood no chance against Oryx’s dark magic, transforming the God of the Elves into a giant lizard. Oryx then infused the dark presence into the King Elf and his soldiers, leaving them writhing on the ground. Their skin changed a deathly black shade, allowing them to blend in the darkness as they obeyed Oryx’s commands, thus dubbing them the “Night Elves”.
  13. Despite their affliction, rumors have it that the Night Elves still search for Humans, warning them of the path they follow, towards the clutches of the Mad God.
