  1. >Be Anon
  2. >You wake up in your room
  3. >You struggle to open your eyes and turn them from the ceiling above
  4. >The clock was the first thing to enter your vision
  5. >8:52
  6. >Thank god it was a Saturday
  7. >No work and no school
  8. >Which was perfect for you, considering today was sort of a special day for you
  9. >Your birthday
  10. >Another year older, and your tired body helped make you feel more like it
  11. >You took your phone from the nightstand and sifted through the messages on your phone
  12. >"Happy birthday, Anon! Love you so much!"
  13. >"hey happy bday bro drinks l8r tonite?"
  14. >The messages went on
  15. >You couldn't help but smile at all of them
  16. >You felt sort of grateful for having that many people care about you
  17. >But one thing was off...
  18. >You were surprised that none of your roommates barged into your room to wish you a happy birthday
  19. >Almost as if on cue, loud knocks on your door filled your room with its sound
  20. >A shrill voice followed
  21. >"Nonny, Nonny! Wake up, birthday boy!"
  22. >You sighed, sitting up from your bed
  23. >You began to rub the sleep out of your eyes in an attempt to wake up
  24. >This apparently wasn't done fast enough
  25. >Your door flew open and a blue-haired figure occupied the opening
  26. >With a huge grin on her face, she ran over to you and practically pinned you to the bed in a hug
  27. >"Happy birthday Nonny!"
  28. >You struggled to catch a breath to respond to her
  29. "Thanks... Sonata... Now please... get off of me."
  30. >She obeyed your command and sat upright, your legs becoming something a chair for her
  31. >She began to bounce up and down in excitement, as if it was her birthday too
  32. >"You gotta come with me. We all got you presents!"
  33. >So the other two actually cared, huh?
  34. >Surprising, considering the nature of both of them
  35. >You smiled and nodded to Sonata in response
  36. "Alrighty. But you gotta get off, can't really go anywhere with you on my legs."
  37.
  38. >She looked down, forgetting that she was sitting on top of another human being
  39. >"Oh. Right. Sorry, Nonny."
  40. >She climbed off of you and extended her hands to you
  41. >She picked you up off of the bed with little difficulty
  42. >"Hurry, hurry! Get dressed!"
  43. >You sighed, walking over to your dresser
  44. >Basketball shorts and a sleeveless top should do it
  45. >After throwing on your clothes, you followed an anxious Sonata out to the living room of the apartment
  46. >As you both entered, you could see your other two roommates waiting for you on the couch
  47. >On the table in front of them lie three carefully-wrapped gifts
  48. >"Dagi, Ari, Anon's up Anon's up!"
  49. >The orange-haired girl smiled, standing up to greet you
  50. >She walked over to you and brought you in for a modest embrace
  51. >It was almost impossible for you not to get a faceful of hair in the process
  52. >But hey, her hair smelled really good
  53. >It was like she washed it with $30 shampoo or something
  54. >"Happy birthday, Anonymous."
  55. >Her voice was so soothing
  56. >It actually felt genuine, a turn from her usual egotistic attitude
  57. "Thanks, Adagio."
  58. >You could feel her nod slightly in response
  59. >She broke from the hug and stared at you with one of the warmest smiles you'd ever seen
  60. >You couldn't help but smile back
  61. >"Yeah, happy birthday, loser."
  62. >Your third roommate's monotonic voice all but ruined the moment
  63. >You shot a dissatisfied look to her
  64. >It soon turned into a look of smugness
  65. "Hey, don't I get a hug from you too? Dagi and Sonata gave me one."
  66. >She flipped her hair as if you deny your request
  67. >But it didn't take long for her to stand up and you give a hug of her own
  68. >Huh, it was much more gentle than you thought
  69. >Though as you were getting used to it, she put you in a bearhug-like grip
  70. "ThaAAANKS Aria. You can let ME GO NOW."
  71. >She released her death grip and shot you a look of victory
  72. >"Still as weak as ever."
  73. >She returned back to her place on the couch
  74.
  75. >Adagio was the first to speak up afterwards
  76. >"So Anon, are you going to open your presents?
  77. >Sonata interjected before you could get a word out
  78. >"Oh oh oh, can we have the cake first? Pleeeease?"
  79. >Adagio's face transformed from one of pleasantry to one of irritation
  80. >A small grunt escaped her
  81. >"That's all you wanted today, isn't it?"
  82. >Sonata's giddiness ceased at Adagio's coldness
  83. >"N-no. I just thought that maybe Anon wanted cake too."
  84. >She looked straight at you with puppy-dog eyes
  85. >"R-right, Nonny?"
  86. >It was impossible to resist, she was just too cute
  87. "W-well..."
  88. >You began to rub the back of your head at the uneasiness of it all
  89. "It's like 9 in the morning. A little early for cake. But sure, why not?"
  90. >Sonata's face lit up as you said this
  91. >She threw her arms around you
  92. >"Yay! Thanks Nonny, you're the best!"
  93. >She planted a small kiss on your cheek and took off towards the kitchen
  94. >Adagio still looked very annoyed with the whole situation
  95. >It wasn't long before her anger was directed at you
  96. >"You HAD to encourage her, didn't you?"
  97. >And because of cake, she was back to her crabby self
  98. "Oh, come on, Dagi. She just wants everyone to be happy."
  99. >She folded her arms over her chest and averted her gaze from you
  100. >"I suppose..."
  101. >You sighed at how hard it was to budge her
  102. >You took a seat in between her and Aria
  103. >Aria kicked her feet up onto you to get into a more relaxed state
  104. >"You make a pretty good footrest, you know?"
  105. >Oh really?"
  106. >She had practically set herself up for this
  107. >You began running your fingers along the soles of her feet
  108. >Loud, stifled giggles came from her and she began to wriggle slightly
  109. >Soon, laughter was flowing out of her and the wiggling had only grown more violent
  110. >"Goddamn it Anon, hahahaha, st-stop it! Hahahahahaha!"
  111. >"Will you two just quit it? I'd rather not get one of Aria's disgusting feet in my face."
  112. >"Ahahahaha, oh, f-fuck off Adagio, hahahaha!"
  113.
  114. >After you feel as though you've had your fill, you stopped for her to catch her breath
  115. >Her chest rose and fell and deep breaths took over the silence
  116. >"Hey, you guys better not be having fun without me!"
  117. >Sonata came into the room with a tray in her hands
  118. >It was a decently-sized cake, and it even looked like it was professionally-made
  119. >Blue, thick lines of icing lined the cake and small, round sprinkles decorated the standard white frosting throughout
  120. >The words "We love you, Anon!" were written in the same blue icing as the lining
  121. >You couldn't stop your stomach from growling in hunger at the sight of it
  122. >Not only that, but you couldn't help but feel touched that they actually thought to have that custom writing on the cake
  123. >Hell, you were touched that they even got you a cake at all
  124. "Wow. You guys went all-out, huh?"
  125. >Aria leaned forward from the couch and brought herself to a sitting position
  126. >"Yeah. We all kinda threw suggestions into what the cake should be, and this came out."
  127. "What do you mean?"
  128. >"Well, Adagio picked the colors and cake flavor and Sonata wanted sprinkles on it."
  129. >Well that was two suggestions
  130. "And what was yours?"
  131. >She opened her mouth to speak again, but instead looked away
  132. >Sonata rose her voice to give you the answer
  133. >"Oh, she was the one that wanted the custom writing. You know, THIS one."
  134. >She flourished her hand over the writing on the cake
  135. >Aria wanted to say that?
  136. >You turned your head to her
  137. >She still had her gaze elsewhere and even grew a slight shade of red
  138. >"Wh-whatever. It's your birthday, and I didn't want to be lame and just have "Happy birthday," on it."
  139. >She turned her head back to you, a flustered look decorating her face
  140. >"Just don't make a big deal about it."
  141. >You nodded in response, silently promising to honor what she said
  142. >Her face relaxed into a small smile before looking to the cake
  143. >"So how much is gonna be left after Sonata takes her piece?"
  144.
  145. >Sonata's cheek puffed up in protest as she set the cake down
  146. >"Hey! I may like cake, but I know to save some for the rest of you!"
  147. >You all shared a laugh at this
  148. >Even Adagio, who was so against cake this early, joined in
  149. >"Sonata, be a dear and get some plates for us, please?"
  150. >Sonata nodded and took off back into the kitchen
  151. >Adagio sighed as her gaze was set on the cake
  152. "A little hungry there, Dagi?"
  153. >A quiet giggle came out of her
  154. >"No. Just thinking about how good the cake turned out. Aria's custom writing was the best idea, I believe."
  155. >You both looked to Aria, who had grown the same shade of red as before
  156. >"We all love you, Anon. Please don't forget that."
  157. >Adagio wrapped her arms around your waist and laid her head down onto your shoulder
  158. >You brought your arm around her and began to stroke her hair
  159. >"I know, I love you guys too. I don't need writing on a cake to know that you guys love me."
  160. >Adagio moved ever so slightly further onto your shoulder, as if she were acknowledging your statement
  161. >You could feel the other side of the couch shift just a bit and felt another pair of arms embrace your waist
  162. >The same person rested her head on your free shoulder
  163. >"Thanks, loser. Love you more than Poofy here."
  164. >"Shut it, Aria."
  165. >"Awww, you guys are hugging without me?!"
  166. >Sonata set the plates and silverware down onto the table and ran over to your group, bringing her arms around everyone
  167. >"So, what are we hugging for?"
  168. >Adagio's muffled voice escaped from underneath Sonata
  169. >"We're just saying how much we love Anon."
  170. >Sonata brought her face next to yours and pressed her lips against your cheek once more
  171. >"Oooh, really? Well, he knows that I love him the most, right?"
  172.
  173. >The other two girls seemeingly took offense to this as they broke from the hug simultaneously
  174. >"Ahaha, not true, Sonata. I love Anon the most."
  175. >Sonata scoffed at Adagio's statement
  176. >"You wish. Who was the one that woke him up this morning?"
  177. >"Because we told you to!"
  178. >"Yeah, but YOU could've done it!"
  179. >"Why? I had someone perfectly able to do it for me!"
  180. >The friendly fight between Sonata and Adagio showed no signs of stopping anytime soon
  181. >You felt another kiss touch your cheek, though this time, it wasn't from Sonata
  182. >You looked over to the source and discovered a beet-red Aria
  183. >A smile formed on your lips
  184. >She looked away in embarrassment
  185. >"Let's just have some cake..."
  186. >She took a plate and the knife to cut the cake
  187. >Perfect opportunity
  188. >You snuck a kiss onto her cheek and could feel the heat from it on your lips
  189. >Aria jumped in surprise, but regained her composure with a modest smile
  190. >She fidgeted a bit with the blade, but managed to cut two good-sized pieces
  191. >You both began to enjoy your cake and looked back to the quarrel between Adagio and Sonata still unfolding before you
  192. >Though it wasn't long before Sonata picked up on the scent of the treat
  193. >"Heyyy, no fair, I wasn't looking!"
  194. >She scrambled to cut a piece of the cake
  195. >"I'm gonna have... this piece!"
  196. >She positioned the blade near the middle of the cake, where the writing was
  197. >She began cutting a quite large piece out of the cake where the words "Anon" were
  198. >Adagio smacked her hand onto the table
  199. >"Hey, that's MY piece! I wanted the "Anon" piece!"
  200. >Sonata stuck her tongue out to her orange-haired rival
  201. >"Too bad, so sad!"
  202.
  203. >Adagio grunted, but soon returned to herself with an evil grin
  204. >"Very well. Then I'll have the "Love" piece to show how much I really love Anon."
  205. >Sonata's eyes practically pierced through Adagio as she said this
  206. >"Nuh-uh, that's MY piece too!"
  207. >"Oh, no you don't, Sonata! I hope you get a stomachache from all of the cake you'll be eating!"
  208. >You sighed at the events folding in front of you
  209. >You were sort of starting to feel bad for the cake, with how much Sonata was stabbing it
  210. >And to think, after this, you still had to unwrap the presents
  211. >You couldn't help but feel that that was going to turn out exactly how the cake was turning out
  212. >How the hell you managed to rope yourself in this situation with these girls, you'll never know
  213. >But you really wouldn't want to wish for anything else
