- Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Jumpchain CYOA
- ALL TEXT IS MERELY PLACE HOLDER. EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
- Intro-
- 1000 Charter Points
- Backgrounds-
- Imperial Navy Captain-
- Some kind of maneuver action against an enemy fleet, perhaps driving off a fleet of Tau with very few ship, maybe you were just in the right place at the right time and saved a high ranking politician's pleasure yacht.
- Dynast-
- You got too high in station and made people nervous, as such the 'honour' of being given a warrant of trade was issued. Or perhaps you're one of the children of a current Rogue Trader who's just set out to make their own fortune.
- Imperial Navy Officer-
- Needs text, not got a clue as to how they got the warrant. Will just read through 40k lore and find someone who did something similar. Probably a couple examples.
- Any Background can be taken as drop in for no extra cost. Many will just assume that your information was lost due to a clerical error.

- Items-
- Free (All) - The Box (Needs reworded)
- In your hands is a simple seamless box. It appears to be made out a dark unidentifiable metal. While it may look like nothing and seem to do nothing it is in fact the most important item in your possession. Should you, and only you, attempt to open the box a small strip shall slide off the top. Within you will find your warrant of trade, and only your warrant. Given how Rogue Trader dynasties can last millennia and this warrant is made out of parchment the box will also act as a stasis device.
- --Will go through the Requisitions in the books for more ideas. Not worried about this.
- Followers-
- Imperial
- Ex-soldier or Naval officer. Seneschal and probably a Heretek too.
- Eldar
- Pathfinder? Maybe a corsair instead. Undecided.
- Kroot
- A Kroot. Literally just a basic Kroot mercenary. Keep them fed with interesting shit and they'll be loyal.
- Squat
- Probably a squat craftsmen. Not a Living Ancestor, that'd just be silly.
- What use is a Noble with no holdings? What of a Factory with no workers? A shrine with no Priests? Or a Rogue Trader with no ship? Nothing, that's what. But you aren't nothing are you? Perhaps your a Privateer, or even a simple merchantman. Or maybe even one of those fabled few to have their name known across entire sectors, to be spoken on in reverence, awe and fear. It matters little what you are or what you will become, all that truly matters is how it begins. As such you'll be receiving a ship, a single ship that is, and crew to go with that fancy little piece of paper you have there. Oh, you'll also need these Requisition Points. The Mechanicus is known to be rather stringy so you best take a thousand of them. Ah almost forgot, you can swap those fancy Charter Points at a one to one ratio should you wish it.
- Raider class (+200 MP)
- Perhaps one of the small yet nimble Hazeroth Privateer or one of the fierce yet fragile Havoc Raiders the choice is ultimately yours. A word of warning however, your ship may be fast but it has very little cargo space. Moreover don't think you'll be fighting any true warships with this, even a frigate would be able to sweep you away with little trouble.
- Frigate Class (Default starting ship)
- It seems as though the Mechanicus has seen fit to grant you with a simple frigate to start your dynasty. They're the backbone of any Imperial fleet after all. Maybe they saw fit to grant you with one of the tried and tested Sword-Class Frigates? I've heard that they are one of the most reliable ships ever built, a tried and tested design. Or perhaps you prefer to get in close to the enemy? To board a ship and take it for yourself, or even to just feel the rush of adrenaline as your prow tears through your foes. Then the Tempest-Class would be for you. While you may not have the range of another ship the pirates of the sector can attest to the dangers of letting you get close. After all those assault boats and ratings must have some use, and should they fail? Well you always have the Tripled-Armoured prow to show your enemies the error of their ways.
- Light Cruiser Class (-200MP)
- Ah the big leagues start here, mostly used to escort larger battleships or even as scouts these ships can pack enough firepower to slug it out with even a true Cruiser. Perhaps you've taken a shine to the speed and maneuverability of the Dauntless? While not the strongest of ships it is still a highly formidable vessel, capable of a full torpedo salvo and operating autonomously for longer than most any other ship. Or are you one who would prefer the sheer firepower that an Endeavour can offer? Able to fight a true cruiser and come out on top. While it might not have the reach you need the rumble of your broadsides should definitely make up for it no?
- Battle Cruiser class (-400MP)
- Ah a battle cruiser, now that brings back some fond memories. These lumbering giants are what makes up the back bone of many, if not every sector fleet within the Imperium. Few ships have the service records these ones do. From the mighty Mars Class with it's terrifying Nova Cannon that could sunder a ship in twain if it's shields are down. To the formidable Overlord Class with it's overpowered lances which allow it to emerge victorious in battle against almost any comparable vessel. Or even the impossible quick Mercury Class that could outrun Raiders, these are the ships that few pirates would dare go against, and the foolish few that do will quickly find out the true meaning of the Emperors Wrath.
- Grand Cruiser Class (-600MP)
- By the Emperor, you must truly you've seen His blessings first hand. To have been given one of the most powerful warships the Imperium has and most likely will ever produce. While you might not be a true Battleships this is the closest you'll ever get. These are ships that have been in service for thousands of years, some of which even had their foundations lain during the Great Crusade. The loss of even one of these mighty vessels is truly incalculable. Few vessels can contend with the short range yet devastating firepower of a Avenger Class, with it's twin decks of weapon batteries and squadrons of Assult craft. Or maybe, just maybe you've been granted one of the near mythical Repulsive Class Grand Cruisers. A ship ship with the true firepower of a Battleship, and yet is only the size of a cruiser. Many beings of the Martian order would be interested in studying such an ancient ship, although many more may just attempt to take it from you.
- Import (-400MP)
- You already have a ship? This is highly unusual, may I inquire as to... no actually, never mind best keep that to yourself. Hmm while it is not uncommon for Rogue Traders to make use of Xeno-technology to have an entire Xenos ship may draw some attention. I suppose I could pull some strings and call in some favours with my friends in the Mechanicus to have your ship remodeled to look sufficiently Imperial. It'll cost you though, and I am most certainly not a miracle worker so don't expect me to be able to shrink something the size of a Gloriana to look like a frigate. Should the ship be truly huge, well I've sure at least a couple of forge worlds are capable of moving under their own power. Of course you could forgo my offer to change the appearance of the ship entirely, just expect some very pointed questions and possible instant hostilities from local Imperial forces.
- Ship Upgrades/ Add-ons-
- Drawbacks-
- A Roll of the Dice 600CP
- It almost seems like you have the personal ire of the Emperor, or perhaps your entry into this world has muddled one of Tzeentchs plans. Or perhaps that was his plan in the first place. It matters not, as you'll soon find out. During your time here you'll find that nothing ever seems to go as planned.
- Scenarios?-
- Space Hulk Salvage
- Hunt a Space Hulk throughout Imperial borders, Clear out the hulk, kill all the xeno/mutants aboard and aid the Mechanicus in discovering ancient lore that is trapped deep withing.
- Reward- Ark Mechanicus/DaOT ship?
- Aid a Space Marine chapter in some massive way?
- Bring them back from the brink of extinction, Go on a hunt for a lost relic of a Primarch that they have misplaced. Give many actual gifts to the blood ravens? All random Ideas.
- Rewards-Second company from the chapter you aided follow you from the jump. They act much like the platoon from the main Imperium just with a lot, lot longer respawn timer.
- Possible scenario about a crusade? Rewards would be a ramilies class starfort that is warp capable.
- Future-
- Move On
- Stay Here
- Or perhaps the call of adventure hasn't quite been sated yet. Mayhaps you've come to love this blasted hellish universe. It matters not, for this is the place you call home now. To travel through the endless night, to bring war, peace, joy or any number of other things to those you grace. (I dislike this atm.)
- Go Home
