AGDQ 2020 Thoughts

This GDQ was a mixed bag for me. I think my time management was poorly planned on top of some other things.

Roughly 25% I had made plans that were away from the venue and I spent a good deal of time with family. Which isn't a bad thing. I haven't seen some of my family in a couple years, but when I make time for a GDQ, I really just want to be there playing games in the practice room and hanging out with nerds. I was also mildly sick before and during the event and wanted to rest in the room because of it. Practice room was often overcrowded too, so I felt like sometimes it wasn't worth going to which led to me not having much to do often. Venue was not bad, but Florida was way too hecking humid. I'll have to bring a de-humidifier to each GDQ now, just in case. Food options were lit. I could eat at Ale House and Wendys every day.

But I did have a good time. My roommates Starwin and Shobuddha was awesome, always down to have a good meal and talk shit about stupid delirious stuff. The remainder of my time was spent with seckswrecks, crak atak, infinitemystery, and greenzsaber. Bible Game (PS2) with Linkums and the boys was amazing and I may try to do more party games at GDQs going forward. I also really enjoyed playing through weird itch games with teddy and even just talking to RiskyCB. I wish I hung out with my good buddy Trey more but being staff has his hands full. Everyone else was great to hang out with, CMM1215, MrShasta, DrSwellman and Purekaos, NPC, RipChip, and anyone else I spoke too.

For SGDQ, I'll likely have new stuff to submit. And I plan on getting there on day negative 2 and volunteer for setup. Get some Coffee and Bagels and Libre back on. I have about 7 games I'm looking into running in the mean time.

I'd also like to organize blind races on Friday evenings. I know a few people are up to it. Anything from retro to steam to itch games.
