  1. Hello peoples! This is SirSkit with another Rock Core Challenge, particularly Tyrantrum and Shuckle. This core geared the team largely toward hyper offense, which, in my opinion, is Rock's best playstyle.
  2.
  3. Shuckle already worked well on some of my previous Rock teams since my main offensive threats, Mega Diancie and Terrakion, desperately needed the speed. Personally, I hadn't really used Tyrantrum very much until the challenge, but it seemed like it could fit well on a Rock team, replacing Cradily. Losing the Water immunity would hurt my team a bit, but, by adding Tyrantrum, I got a stronger answer to bulky Grass and Water types (damn Mega Venusaur and Alomomola) and a way to soften Terrakion's checks. So, basically, my team turned into "rock spam" for the most part. Very few types can handle Tyrantrum, Terrakion, and Mega Diancie under Sticky Webs, although there are always the bulkier Ground, Steel, and Water types that the three can't really be expected to stop. Adding a semi-defensive core of Rhyperior and Tyrantiar really helped take down these, particularly with TTar taking on Psychic types and Rhyperior taking on, well, Excadrill.

  61. Sets in Detail:
  62. Shuckle - Most of the set is fairly self-explanatory. Mental Herb ensures that I get Sticky Webs or Stealth Rock onto the field against some Monotypes but more importantly Fighting Monotypes that carry an anti-lead. Encore stops SD Scizor and other setup sweepers from using Shuckle as setup bait and help me get another teammate in safely by easing prediction. Knock Off helps me remove Choice items, LO, Lefties, Sashes, etc. Knocking off unsuspecting Gliscor Toxic Orbs is pretty nice too.
  63. Tyrantrum - Head Smash is Head Smash, which only has the drawback of its annoyingly low accuracy. Outrage is great STAB, but I find myself clicking Head Smash most of the time. The last two slots are used to hit whatever doesn't mind a Head Smash - Superpower hits Steels and Porygon-2 fairly well, and Ice Fang hits Gliscor and other x4 Pokemon. Although running Adamant would be useful, I opted for Jolly to barely outspeed Jolly Bisharp and Breloom.
  64. Mega Diancie - Another standard set on the team, although still pretty effective. Protect lets Mega Diancie mega evolve safely and revenge non-scarf Garchomp and Keldeo. You could try out Calm Mind over Protect, or possibly Hidden Power Fire as well, but I use Protect in more matches than I would the other two options.
  65. Terrakion - Choice Band Terrakion scares tons of weakened teams, its scary :s. Breaking through Skarmory and a bunch of other stuff, this mainly sweeps late-game when Tyrantrum has weakened Terrakion's checks. Close Combat is Close Combat, and Stone Edge is Stone Edge. Earthquake is there only to hit the ever-so-annoying Jirachi and Doublade/Aegislash. Quick Attack is a neat little move on the set for hitting weakened BellyJet Azumarill and other weakened Pokemon. This is also my only available form of priority.
  66. Rhyperior - This is my main answer to bulky Grounds and some Dragons if I'm unable to get Sticky Webs in early enough for Diancie to revenge kill the Choice Scarf Dragons. Ice Punch nails Garchomp and Gliscor, and Fire Punch nails Forretress (4 Speed EVs to outspeed the thing) and, more importantly, Scizor.
  67. Tyranitar - This takes on the majority of Special Attackers, even some that have Focus Blast. Sandstorm is great for removing Focus Sash from Breloom and friends or just weakening Azumarill to Terrakion's Quick Attack KO range. The EVs are dumped into Attack and Special Defense to make the most out of the Assault Vest, and 36 Speed EVs let me barely outspeed minimum Speed Scizor and Fire Blast it to smithereens. Ice Beam hits Gliscor and other Ground types.
