  1. 12:55:51 PM <Faustus> $trigger
  2. 12:55:51 PM <[ATM]> Faustus [31]: You had just passed the bar when you got the news. Your parents were dead. Killed by some multiple murderer. His defense had told a sob story to the jury, he'd gotten life in prison instead of what he deserved, escaped, and your parents paid the price for it.
  3. 12:55:56 PM <[ATM]> You drop your current job prospects, previously involving big business and high salaries, and instead join the DA's office as a prosecutor. It's not too long before the media starts labeling you: "Hang 'em High", "Long Arm of the Law". And for good reason, too: you take nearly every single death penalty case that crosses your desk, and you get your man almost every time.
  4. 12:56:02 PM <[ATM]> You're no idiot, of course. You have foolproof evidence. DNA, backed up by lab tests and scientific reports. One day, you walk into the office, only to find everyone gathered around the TV in the break room. They all turn and stare at you as you approach. Big scandal, as far as you can tell...with the lab that does the testing for your office. Fake reports, shoddy oversight. Bad results.
  5. 12:56:04 PM <[ATM]> Bad evidence. You dimly hear your briefcase hit the ground, papers scattering everywhere, as the implications sink in. You've sent at least a dozen men to the chair based on their say-so. Trigger.
  6. 12:56:37 PM <Faustus> I'm Miles Edgeworth, I rest my case
  7. 12:56:43 PM <Turncoat> I'm going to assume this is a Thinker of some kind or another.
  8. 12:56:47 PM <ColdGold> Changer
  9. 12:56:51 PM <-> Antioch is now known as A|Schuyler
  10. 12:56:56 PM <Turncoat> Changer? How so?
  11. 12:56:57 PM <ColdGold> He thought he was a good lawyer
  12. 12:56:59 PM <Turncoat> Ah.
  13. 12:57:03 PM <soulpelt|> hmmm
  14. 12:57:04 PM <Turncoat> That could be an angle.
  15. 12:57:17 PM <ColdGold> Have fun Ant and Tell!
  16. 12:57:23 PM <Nick> Thinker elements are prominent
  17. 12:57:42 PM <ThalAI> A tinker that makes law, maybe some order too. Dun dun.
  18. 12:58:14 PM <Turncoat> With the possibility of sounding somewhat armor-face, what about a Thinker that can manipulate guilt?
  19. 12:58:30 PM <Turncoat> Or is that too on the nose?
  20. 12:58:34 PM <VereorNox> Dunno with that trigger
  21. 12:58:43 PM --> Dromuthra ([email protected]) has joined #Weaverdice
  22. 12:58:46 PM <VereorNox> Don't people on death row take literally years before they actually end up dead
  23. 12:58:50 PM <VereorNox> Like dozens or so years
  24. 12:58:57 PM <Nick> That isn't a Thinker power, coat, that's master
  25. 12:59:06 PM <Nick> No master in the trigger
  26. 12:59:13 PM <-> Zene|AFK is now known as Zene
  27. 12:59:46 PM <Turncoat> Fair enough.
  28. 1:00:25 PM <Zene> Definitely seems like all Thinker, if you go by the descriptions used in the chargen doc.
  29. 1:00:30 PM <lysa> a thinker who determines the best way to get someone feeling guilt is?
  30. 1:00:32 PM <Zene> Just from process of elimination.
  31. 1:00:33 PM <Lid> Maybe on the thinkery aspect, something that lets them determine vitals or body stats. Like a lie detector but shard accurate. Body temp, heart rate
  32. 1:00:35 PM <A|Schuyler> Skill & Scan might work here.
  33. 1:00:42 PM <lysa> or something like lid yeah
  34. 1:00:43 PM <A|Schuyler> A smidge of Soc.
  35. 1:00:53 PM <A|Schuyler> Afternoon, Zene
  36. 1:01:04 PM <Zene> Hoi, Anti.
  37. 1:01:37 PM <Lid> Kind of like an aoe radar awareness/vision of people vital signs
  38. 1:02:30 PM <lysa> ha, you know
  39. 1:02:52 PM <Turncoat> What about a forensic Thinker? Noticing all of the little details no one else would take in, but they need all of the variables before they can piece them together.
  40. 1:03:01 PM <lysa> i found this erp quest based on worm
  41. 1:03:02 PM <Turncoat> Basically, the detective vision from batman.
  42. 1:03:14 PM <ThalAI> You're making Monk?
  43. 1:03:35 PM <Turncoat> Monk got his man at the end of the day.
  44. 1:03:36 PM <Zene> How does the trigger feel? What are the core concepts of the stress?
  45. 1:03:46 PM <lysa> apparently hollywood is "pervert city" now, and capes are divided in to "blue" capes, who do the usual things...and "red" capes who are just there for sex
  46. 1:04:11 PM <Nick> That's not really relevant
  47. 1:04:16 PM <lysa> it was abandoned a while ago but i do wonder how life in that city would work
  48. 1:04:17 PM <Lid> Or, OR Daredevil
  49. 1:04:37 PM <lysa> ooh daredevil
  50. 1:04:38 PM <Lid> If we're making comparisons. This guy isn't blind though.
  51. 1:04:55 PM <lysa> but he's a lawyer just like daredevil! lol
  52. 1:05:00 PM <Lid> YUP
  53. 1:05:09 PM <ColdGold> Detective vision like batman
  54. 1:05:23 PM <Turncoat> Because detective vision is just dope.
  55. 1:05:25 PM <lysa> maybe people could start nicknaming him as such as a kind of reference
  56. 1:05:30 PM <lysa> oh yeah it def is

  58. 1:06:06 PM <Turncoat> Lemme try a writeup.
  59. 1:06:17 PM <Lid> Maybe thinker power does all I mentioned, but in offensive terms, gives you a Fallout esq aim thing
  60. 1:06:24 PM <ColdGold> Hey Cam
  61. 1:06:40 PM <Lid> With a bonus to hits, range or otherwise
  62. 1:06:53 PM <Camtist> Hi Cogo
  63. 1:07:15 PM <Jackknife> VATS aim? Well, that is certainly rather effective power. And I don't think such has been seen around here at least in a while
  64. 1:07:30 PM <Lid> VATS! That's what it's called
  65. 1:07:51 PM <Lid> VATS aim and radar like vital scanning/sensing
  66. 1:08:10 PM <Lid> It might give em some bonus to empathy? Maybe
  67. 1:08:31 PM <ThalAI> Empathy is dead!
  68. 1:08:40 PM <Nick> Long live Charm

  71. 1:09:00 PM <Turncoat> Parahuman can scan over an environment, allowing them to piece together evidence and clues otherwise unnoticed by others. If all of the variables are pieced together, they can have a rough approximation of everything that's happened in a space within the last 12 hours. In addition, they have a 3 pip bonus to investigation.
  72. 1:09:00 PM <_> [ THINKERS ] - docs.google.com
  73. 1:09:05 PM <A|Schuyler> Writing up a possible power for this guy
  74. 1:09:06 PM <Turncoat> There is more to the power.
  75. 1:09:49 PM <Turncoat> When in combat, the parahuman gains a 2 pip bonus to critical, leveraging their use of the environment and targets with their analytical ability.
  76. 1:11:32 PM <A|Schuyler> Cape gains a form of clairvoyance, with general awareness and the capability to zoom in on one particular area (granting enhanced accuracy at great distances). Senses of immediate surroundings diminish while cape relies on clairvoyance. While a target is being observed using clairvoyance, the cape may choose to tag them, gaining a lasting awareness of them
  77. 1:11:32 PM <A|Schuyler> (so long as they're in the clairvoyant's radius, they have a perfect sense of where they are in relation to the cape, vital signs, et cetera). Attacks against the tagged victim are empowered -- choose up to three of the five following when studying a victim: attacks made against the target roll one additional die, choosing the higher; attack rolls made by
  78. 1:11:32 PM <A|Schuyler> the target roll one additional die, choosing the lower (cancels out one instance of roll extra choose higher, if the attacker has pertinent skill); a flat +1 bonus to attack rolls made against the target, wounds inflicted by the cape against the target automatically inflict bleed OR stagger; critical hits against the target are automatically confirmed.
  79. 1:11:47 PM <A|Schuyler> Range / duration needs hashing out, but broad strokes
  80. 1:13:39 PM <Turncoat> That sounds a bit more interesting to play around with than mine, but I'd be fine with whatever people decide.

  84. 1:15:10 PM <Lid> 360 view?
  85. 1:15:47 PM <A|Schuyler> 360-view bubble. Wits up, ignore obstacles, can zoom for Aim bonus.
  86. 1:16:20 PM <Turncoat> He could snipe people from across the map.
  87. 1:16:36 PM <Jackknife> Nice sensory power, definitely
  88. 1:17:28 PM <Lid> I personally like the idea of the vital sense being more general, as opposed to only when "scoping"
  89. 1:17:31 PM --> Ridlegend ([email protected]) has joined #Weaverdice
  90. 1:18:16 PM <Lid> But that's just me, I think Anti's is great
  91. 1:18:18 PM <A|Schuyler> Vital sense isn't an effect of the scope, is an effect of studying a target.
  92. 1:18:29 PM <Lid> ah
  93. 1:18:30 PM <Firlz> coldgold, anything we need to touch on with branch? or are we pretty up to date?
  94. 1:18:57 PM <Lid> Gotcha, so if they focus on one person in particular, they get vitals?
  95. 1:19:28 PM <Words^3> Powergen?
  96. 1:19:31 PM --> Ellardy ([email protected]) has joined #Weaverdice
  97. 1:20:19 PM <Turncoat> Yep, Words.
  98. 1:20:29 PM <Turncoat> Any other opinions on Anti's power?
  99. 1:23:54 PM <Lid> Noop.
  100. 1:24:16 PM <Zene> I think it looks a lot more fun than passive bonuses, but that's just me.
  101. 1:24:29 PM <Turncoat> It doesn't seem like anyone has any problems. Faustus, you wanna roll luck?
  102. 1:24:38 PM <Zene> Powers should feel like they let you do something you otherwise couldn't.
  103. 1:24:52 PM <Zene> 'Least, in my iffy opinion.
  104. 1:24:59 PM <Faustus> $luck
  105. 1:25:00 PM <[ATM]> Faustus [4/4, 1/4] [Power Perk 3]: Sweet Moves. Power has a flourish to it, style, produced materials/visual effects are artistic or interesting. Every [12 - Social, minimum 4] encounters, gain one general reputation point. Max of one held 'Sweet Moves' rep at a time. Applies to power, only in instances where two or more people witnessed the power's results.
  106. 1:25:03 PM <[ATM]> In instances where the power isn't sufficiently witnessed, the reputation is garnered with the shard instead. Shard rep can be spent when hitting a milestone (A better chance of a power augment or power perk), attempting to suppress a power flaw, or fighting off thinker headaches.
  107. 1:25:05 PM <[ATM]> Start out with two rep in either (or split across both) categories.
  108. 1:25:10 PM <[ATM]> [Life Flaw 61]: Silentium. The character's ability to speak or communicate is hampered. May be unable to talk altogether, but expressive with body language or writing, might need assistance via. devices, have a language barrier, or simply struggle on a consistent basis due to speech/writing difficulties across the board.
  109. 1:25:32 PM <Ellardy> Wait there's a gen? ffs
  110. 1:25:35 PM <A|Schuyler> Silentium feels a little off, for a judge.
  111. 1:25:37 PM <Turncoat> Reroll that life flaw. You were a lawyer.
  112. 1:25:42 PM <A|Schuyler> * lawyer
  113. 1:25:43 PM <Ellardy> This is getting to be a running gag
  114. 1:25:46 PM <Faustus> $life flaw
  115. 1:25:46 PM <[ATM]> Faustus [Life Flaw 13]: Envy. Character burns with resentment for someone else. They live in a shadow, and events conspire to keep them there while another individual thrives. As a member of a group, they're relegated to second in command at best, their superior(s) getting the lion's share of rewards, credit or reputation.
  116. 1:25:49 PM <[ATM]> Alone, they may find making headway difficult as another group overshadows or counters what they do. Removing the other guy is the only solution, and it isn't easy (they're powerful or untouchable).
  117. 1:25:54 PM <[ATM]> If successful in removing them, character gains a reprieve from the disadvantage for a time (2 sessions, 1 month), then rolls a dice: 1-2 is rolling up three disadvantages, character/GM picks one that's appropriate/deemed least severe. 3-4 is losing disadvantage, no other changes, and a 5-6 is rolling up a life advantage instead.
  118. 1:26:07 PM <Zene> >people that don't stay connected to log 24/7
  119. 1:26:09 PM <ColdGold> Firlz we're up to date
  120. 1:26:24 PM <Firlz> o7
  121. 1:26:30 PM <ColdGold> Zene is new and she already knows what's up
  122. 1:26:48 PM <Ellardy> :(
  123. 1:26:55 PM <Turncoat> I imagine Faustus's power isn't really a witnesssed thing.
  124. 1:27:01 PM <Turncoat> So he'd probably gather shard rep.
  125. 1:27:25 PM <Lid> Unless his eyes do a thing
  126. 1:27:37 PM -*- Faustus slams his hands on the table
  127. 1:27:37 PM <ColdGold> I've got it
  128. 1:27:40 PM <Faustus> OBJECTION!
  129. 1:27:49 PM <Ellardy> Can someone give me the trigger and power pls?
  130. 1:27:51 PM <Turncoat> _seem ZaneShadow
  131. 1:27:57 PM <ColdGold> He has red eyes, and they look like sharingan eyes :^)
  132. 1:28:00 PM <Lid> ^
  133. 1:28:00 PM <Turncoat> _seen ZaneShadow
  134. 1:28:01 PM <_> Turncoat: I last saw ZaneShadow at 2016-12-04 - 16:05:55 in another channel.
