Shin'Ra history

Born in a backwater portion of Herizu with a little sister two years, Shin, a lad who only lived to feed and protect his three-year-old sister, Mira since they were abandoned by their parents to fend for themselves, the reason remains unknown. As they grew up Shin adopted many talents while working within the Slums from various culinary practices and stolen cookbooks to basic swordsmanship from the local school, it was honestly a rather joyous moment, however, it was rather short-lived. Mira soon fell ill, in a desperate panic, Shin scattered to retrieve whatever medicine he could find, or anything that looked like it would alleviate the illness, and it worked, at first. Without prior knowledge of medicine, Shin gave Mira a large list of medicines to take while he ran off to visit a noble family visiting clad in green garments. It was here that Shin met the Tseng family in full view, honestly, it was a captivating moment for the lad, until his younger sister slowly came up to him.

With a weak tug, Mira stared up at him, sweat and tears filling her eyes. Realizing what was going on Shin lifted Mira up and ran into the center possibly thinking such a wealthy family could have the magic or something to help the slum rat fix his sister. With tears streaming down his face as he felt her body go limp, Shin cried out "Please help my sister, Mira!" towards the Tsengs in an attempt to do anything to evade the inevitable. Soon a hand rested on the boy's hand as he stared up at Ren, Dai, and the other Tsengs lending him a helping hand. With nowhere else to turn to, Shin reached up taking the patriarch's hand while being lead to the current Tseng house.

The boy soon heard the news of his sister's untimely death, it was an overdose of medicinal drugs. A mixture of feelings washed over the boy's mind; loneliness, self-loathing, regret, he had no one to call family or a home anymore. As this sudden realization overcame him, Shin wept quietly in the Tseng house, until a hand pressed on his shoulders, when Shin looked up he saw a male smiling down at him asking for his name. A short pause followed, he didn't know how to answer this, yes his name was Shin, but...he felt lonely without his sister Mira with him. "It's...Shin'Ra.." as the words came out he felt rather sick, he used Mira's name to attempt to overcome his initial loneliness, but the hand on his shoulder gave him a reassuring squeeze. "My name is Zai Tseng, do you feel like coming with us as a retainer?"

The boy was stunned, but he slowly nodded his head. Thus begins his life as a retainer and unknowingly joining a family.
