Allah told all Muslim women to cover their entire bodies - under threat of harm - and they may only be without that covering around family and slaves (Koran 24:31, 33:55, 33:59). Only post-menopausal unmarried women have the option of not covering themselves up completely (Koran 24:60). Allah won't hear a Muslim woman's prayers if she is not covered up (Abu Dawud 2:641).

Where did God say any of that in the New Testament?

Islam's prophet, Mohammed, told Muslim women they must cover themselves completely, except for their hands and face (Sahih Bukhari 6:321, 8:395, 60:282; Sahih Muslim 26:5395; Abu Dawud 32:4092).

Muslim women cover up because of the erroneous and very disgusting belief that women's beauty somehow drives men to assault and rape women (funny how it only drives *Muslim* men to assault and rape women, isn't it)? It treats women as objects because the only people who can see them are the people who have authority over them.

It's obvious that Muslim women rely on the ~~veil~~ [slave scarf](https://pasteboard.co/IOlJypX.jpg) for protection against unwanted male attention in Islamic society. Even non-Muslim residents and Western visitors to the Islamic world often find it necessary to cover themselves so as to avoid the harassment of Muslim men on the street. What does any of that have to do with Christian women wearing chapel veils?

A chapel veil is not the same thing. It is an optional token of respect for God, and it is only for inside churches. Men show this same respect by not wearing hats in church. It is simply a custom. It does not enslave anyone. Christian women are not beaten, raped, shot, and/or beheaded for not wearing a chapel veil.

In fact, prior to the 1960s most women in the U.S. wore hats - of all kinds! - to church, not veils. It wasn't until pictures circulated of [first lady Jackie Onassis wearing a mantilla chapel veil to Mass](https://pasteboard.co/IPzjeQD.jpg) that the trend changed to chapel veils. Prior to that chapel veils had been primarily worn in Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Monaco, San Marino, and Vatican City; and through the Spanish in Mexico, Central and South America. Today Christian women wear hats, chapel veils, or nothing at all on their heads at church. They are not beaten, raped, shot, beheaded, or get acid thrown on them for not wearing a chapel veil because it really is a *choice.*
