- Pokémon Sun/Moon Any% F.A.Q.
- Q: What are you trying to accomplish?
- A: I am trying to become the champion as quickly as possible.
- Q: What does "Any%" mean?
- A: "Any%" is the category I am running. The goal is to complete the game as fast as possible, with glitches being allowed to do so. However, no route-altering glitches have been found yet, so this is a glitchless run.
- Q: What is the Best Time (BT) in this category?
- A: 5:13:13 in real time by itotaka1031, on New3DS, using Sun version.
- Q: What is your current Personal Best (PB)?
- A: 5:40:14 in real time on 3DS, using Moon version.
- Q: What is your goal?
- A: 5:3x:xx.
- Q: Why make the distinction of version?
- A: Both are similar in the end, with a couple fights in Sun being slower than in Moon. However, Solgaleo is faster against the Elite Four than Lunala is. It almost equals out, with Sun being a little bit faster.
- Q: Why make the distinction of console?
- A: New3DS loads the game much faster and lags less, saving several minutes. Because of this, "Best Time" and "World Record" aren't necessarily interchangeable.
- Q: How are you streaming/recording your runs?
- Q: How are you streaming/recording your runs?
- A: I use the following programs:
- > Twitch streaming: OBS Studio
- > Game-only capture: 3ds_capture
- > Timer: LiveSplit
- I use the following hardware:
- > Console: 3DS w/ capture card installed
- Q: What are the differences between Sun and Moon?
- A: Sun has some slower/trollier fights than Moon. Lunala and Solgaleo seem close, with Solgaleo being safer and faster.
- Q: Why do you choose the boy for the run?
- A: You save 4 seconds by not getting the Makeup Case.
- Q: Why do you set your 3DS date to November 19th and the clock to 8:00 AM?
- A: So the game is either daytime or nighttime depending on version, dialogue is skipped, and there is no Hail.
- Q: Why do you keep resetting the game?
- A: I need at least 12 Special Attack and a not minus Special Defense nature.
- Q: Why do you catch [insert Pokémon here]?
- A: Here is a basic rundown of the entire team:
- > Popplio/Brionne/Primarina: First main Pokémon.
- > Pikipek: Used for two battles.
- > Lunala/Solgaleo: Final main Pokémon.
- Q: Is Popplio the best starter?
- A: I'm gonna say yes.
- Q: Why are you feeding/petting Popplio?
- A: By getting Popplio to affection level 2, we gain 1.2x more experience. We also earn a Rare Candy for feeding it 5 beans.
- Q: What is a "spinner"?
- A: A spinner is a trainer that randomly looks in each direction. These spinning trainers cost precious time on account of extra time battling.
- Q: What are the hardest fights in this run?
- A: Teacher Emily is the first real troll of the game. If playing Sun, Dexio can troll for days. If playing Sun, you fight a Parasect instead of a Shiinotic, so you need Hidden Power to do well against it. Totem Lurantis is extremely scary. Totem Mimikyu is obnoxious. All of the Elite Four requires a lot of setup.
