Aaand welcome back to AINETS, with your host, Lixtak Cahurn!  Today we have not one but two rather concerning occurrences, beginning with the Caretaker attack on Noxus Station.  My colleagues have covered this already, so I don't want to steal their thunder -- but the situation is ongoing, and we are still awaiting more detailed reports.  The area is not yet considered safe for media personnel.

However, perhaps more concerning for some are the events currently transpiring planetside.  As political unrest continues to simmer, the situation has come to a head with a militant group conducting operations in the southern regions.  Although previously not *technically* illegal, their latest ploy most certainly is.  These extremists, calling themselves the "Red Dawn," have surrounded an isolated Alliance military outpost and conducted a siege over the past twelve hours.  Multiple attempts were made to gain entry into the base, but Alliance forces have held so far.

Between communication outages and the terrorists' air defense assets, the Alliance military's aid efforts have so far been unsuccessful.  Our leadership is currently deliberating on a solution, and our brave soldiers can surely hold on just a bit longer...

... wait, I'm getting breaking news, a report from the outpost...

`[INCOMING TRANSMISSION]`

*The video feed is that of an Alliance soldier's helmet camera.  He appears to be up in a guard tower alongside a buddy, taking the nighttime watch.  In the distance, the extremists' fortified positions can be seen, though all is quiet in the opening seconds of the video.*

*Suddenly, a massive dark shape appears overhead, practically materializing out of nowhere.  Blocking out the moon and stars, its angular silhouette is unmistakably a spaceship, but of a size nearly too large to reach orbit, to say nothing of bypassing just about every sensor and scanner at the outpost's disposal.  Whatever this ship is, it is no ordinary military vessel.*

*The soldier wearing the helmet cam gesticulates to his buddy to go run and tell the commander, and his hand brings a radio up to his head -- but before he can say much else, the ship opens fire.  Several turret hardpoints on its oddly-shaped wings unleash a barrage of missiles towards the outpost, but not indiscriminately.  One volley hits the base's anti-air batteries, reducing them to a smoldering wreck, while several others decimate communications satellites, exterior fortifications, and other guard towers.*

*As quickly as it appeared, the ship vanishes without a trace.  Commotion erupts from the base as the terrorists begin pouring in, and the soldier returns fire.  Soon, the feed abruptly cuts off.*
