#PastebinMonday 05/06/2024 Getting Pumped About Infrastructure Edition

'Sup, doods.

I am wiped right now. I had every idea to rant about infrastructure, how important it is in all of our lives, how little a significant part of society seems to care about that nowadays, and how little time I have devoted to setting it up in my own life. I think setting up all of this tournament stuff has numbed my brain—or maybe dumbed it? I'm not sure.

I am sitting here completely drained of all intelligent thought. A part of me wants to sit here and do nothing and rot my life away. A bigger part of me wants to get to the things that make me happy, like playing games all day and entertaining anyone that wants to watch. However, I'm stuck doing all of things I need to do to make that possible and none of the things I enjoy.

OMFG you idiot, stop trauma dumping and doom posting, for crying out loud! How are you supposed to get yourself out of the funk you're in by engaging in the same woe-is-me diatribe the entire time?

Surely you have positive things to talk about? The bank account is getting healthier and healthier to save up for a house payment and therapy, right? This is the month you're getting the week off from work to get yourself right, isn't it? Sure, you've got a lot of infrastructure to deal with, but it's leading to exciting developments with the LPS tournaments, no? It's going to give you more time to work on the stream infrastructure later, yes? You have four months before the next major tournament to work on stuff. That's A LOT of time to work on stuff.

There's so much to look forward to, dood. This is no time to get lost in repetitive crud.

Well, that was weird. I needed a little pep talk (if it was Wednesday, it could have been a pup talk) to align my head again and what got me excited was... infrastructure? What I would give to turn the stream into a well-oiled machine someday. I just need a little time to myself.


(I still have several things to do to get ready for next weekend's tournament—not this coming weekend.)

Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals:

Goal #1a: create Discord channels for the monthly qualifying tournament.
Goal #1b: create a template for the leaderboard qualifying for each tournament. The last tournament's qualifying leaderboard will suffice for this month's purposes, I think.
Goal #2: clip personal shorts from the last stream. I still have several to schedule.
Goal #3: create the leaderboard for the major championship standings. I probably need a whole weekend to code everything properly.
Goal #4: compute everyone's precise tournament winnings and process payouts.
Goal #5a: clean up my hard drive because it almost filled up from the tournaments.
Goal #5b: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for the Pokemon Puzzle League tournaments.
Goal #6: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting back to this will be easier once the workflow for the monthly tournaments is finalized.
Goal #7a: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process. Next objective is to make transitions and alerts.
Goal #7b: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming.
Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.
