  1. Kai's Awakening Technique
  2.
  3. "Karada No Shutoku" - Mastery of Body or as he simply calls it "Zen" deprives from Earthly practice of the same name.
  4.
  5. Zen Principles are the practices of converting one's will, strength, being and emotions into the universal concept of power. This belief system runs deep in a world that values Martial Arts as currency and these Zen Principles are building blocks for all techniques formed.
  6.
  7. Zen Kai (Karada No Shutoku) is his mental ascension which reflected physically due to the Saiyan race transformative nature.
  8.
  9. ---- How did he achieve it? ----
  10. Kai had always blindly followed Headmaster Fujin's footsteps to the where this devotion poisoned his mind. Thus leading to him succumbing to the Satsui no Hado, a dark power within him that plagues his very soul. As a practitioner of the Ansatsuken martial art, he is expected walk a path between the two types of Hado. Never to fully succumb to the Dark Hado but instead find balance and true power between the two. However following the events in Soul Grinder, most notably his defeat to Yote, he found himself becoming rather doubtful in his martial arts and with his will to win being higher than ever as the Sun was now collapsing. He began to feed into the wants of the Satsui no Hado, opening a part in his heart for it to dwell and fester. He looked to Yote as inspiration even if he was an enemy, admiring the raw power power that he posessed and wondering if he too could emulate that. Afterall they were kin.
  11.
  12. And that was when it was born. Channeling his rage, channeling the primal urges within him that came from being part saiyan, he was able to tap into a power similar in principle but very different and man, was the power intoxicating.
  13.
  14. The once pure hearted half-breed became reliant on this power, even being willing to give in fully just to secure a win over his opponents. But regardless of the great power that came with it, it was dangerous and his destructive and uncontrollable nature while using this dark power would one day lead to his death. Leaving the half-breed confused on what was his next step, he was a council member and newly appointed Captain, he absolutely needed to be strong enough to face the fierce opponents that was ahead and to him, that meant Yote, that meant Koya, that meant even Jules and Mars should they become a problem. He wanted to be everything that a sun is to represent and to him? It was the light that illuminates the world.
  15.
  16. The strains of his heritage as a saiyan and his humanity was a burden to him for the longest only because he didn't understand it, at first thinking that he could make it by just relying solely on his martial arts and his own fighting talent, then eventually succumbing to the saiyan way of doing things by just overpowering his opponent with unrestrained violence. However he realized that all along, that just like the Dark Hado and Pure Hado, he wasn't meant to pick one or the other but instead accept the duality of them both. It was the same with his heritage, he was neither a human nor a saiyan, he was half of both so instead of trying to lean on one or the other, Kai realized that he simply needed to use them both in unison and only then would he achieve his true power. His human emotions and will in combination with his saiyan physiology's strength. And through this discovery, he became truly 'Zen'.
  17.
  18. A state born from the marriage of his Humanity and Saiyan roots.
  19.
  20.
  21. Gain: *Perhaps a scaling buff representing of the Zen state ascension that he has achieved through fully accepting both sides of him. Something that starts off pretty weak, basic and grows overtime.
  22.
  23. *If that's not possible then anything else that you would think is fitting of the concept. I just wanted to try something out of the box and be unique with my character. The idea is simply that he abandoned Ansatsuken and the dark Hado that came with it, then after finally tackling himself mentally, a higher state of mind is achieved only through reaching balance between his saiyan and human nature reflecting itself in a physical evolution due to saiyan's natural evolving D.N.A. If I could find a reference, I'd say it's equivalent to Shin from street fighter which is the fusion of Satsui no Hado and Chikara but in Kai's case, it's the balance of his race.
  24.
  25. Trade: Lose Ansatsuken, Lose Satsui Surge. Lose access to Tier 3 Sigs as well.
