- +Boaty Mc Boatface __ If you mean "Red" discussing this issue - I doubt he would. Though - given that he is now doing coursework himself he should at least have an appreciation for what's needed to stay on top of a (university level) subject.
- If a person were to remain able-bodied but be put into a straight jacket (hehe) - would they then struggle to keep up? I think they would and having ALS must be magnitudes more difficult than a straight jacket.
- That doesn't mean it's not possible! It just means that "extra help" becomes far more beneficial (and perhaps necessary). Who could benefit more from such "extra help" than someone like "Stephen Hawking"?!
- (Okay, I accept that I should not have referred to "Stephen Hawking" as a "drooling dummy" - but if I am right about the situation then a "drooling dummy" really is being presented to us as the world's foremost genius. That's not good!)
- The problem is that for us to take the words of "Stephen Hawking" seriously we need to *trust* they are *entirely* his words. Not some - not most - but all of them. If they are not entirely his words then no one should pay any attention whatsoever to "Stephen Hawking".
- It has been suggested to me that: _"Only Stephen Hawking could have written the words he has because he is smarter than everyone else."_ (I'm paraphrasing but that's the sentiment.)
- I have read some of the books purportedly written by "Stephen Hawking" (I used to be a believer!) and I've listened to many of his interviews (I used to be a fan!) - though upon reflection I find he says nothing that an intelligent person with some education couldn't have come up with for himself etc.
- I don't know how prepared you are to talk again about this issue (and whether here is the right place) - but if it interests you I'll talk about it again - though this time with 15% more tact.
- I suppose my first question would be: *How can we be certain it's really "Stephen Hawking" who is the author of the words attributed to "Stephen Hawking" without having to trust those who have the most to gain from exploiting him*?
- (I'll leave it up to you as to whether you want to continue this topic and/or whether to continue it here. *I do apologise* for my harsh words to you earlier.)

- +Boaty Mc Boatface __ Today I'll set up a post for a casual discussion (i.e., take your time with it).
- I give you my word I'll write respectfully to you and about "Stephen Hawking" - I'll even refrain from referring to him as a drooling retard (this won't be easy but I want to get to the bottom of this issue).
- I'll reference your username when it's done etc.
