  1. Citizens of the world,
  2.
  3. We are Anonymous. It is important to remain vigilant in these times of great excitement and action. With every success Anonymous has, more enemies will appear and try to stop us. With each false flag attack on Anonymous that is successful, we stand to lose more people, more support and ultimately everything we've worked for. You know by now how Anonymous operates and you should be able to realize what is real and what is a trap.
  4.
  5. Operation Invade Wall Street has been collectively decided to be a trap to identify and arrest fellow anons who use tools such as LOIC without knowing how to properly protect themselves. While the idea of a DDoS against Wall Street is a good idea, and long overdue at this point, it is important that everyone is smart about it. Proper planning is required. Below are a few facts to keep in mind when planning such operations.
  6.
  7. - Hitting the websites of large institutions like NYSE does not do any real damage. It just creates logs which lead to arrests. They do not do trades through their website. Reconnaissance is needed to find out where their weak points are, and to attack those. They may be DNS servers, they may be services running on custom ports which process transactions. These should be the real targets. Also consider where trades are coming from, such as large trading websites. Trades ARE conducted there, and may be a much better target.
  8.
  9. - LOIC needs to be retired. People who use LOIC need a completely secure way to conduct attacks. Forcing the use of Tor or a VPN may be a good place to start, but dumbing LOIC (or whatever it is replaced by) down so it can't be used insecurely is the right thing to do. In the meantime, clear instructions need to be provided on how to use all tools properly and securely.
  10.
  11. - Speaking specifically to Occupy Wall St and Invade Wall St: They need to be kept apart entirely. Invade Wall St has to be done to support Occupy Wall St, but not as a part of it. The protesters are making progress, getting the support of unions and important figures. They don't need a DDoS to make them strong. A DDoS will show how insecure the banks and other institutions are, however, and expose them for the frauds they are in a way the protesters can't. As mentioned in the first point, this will only work with proper research.
  12.
  13. One final note to Wall Street or anyone else reading this message. This is not a sign of disorganization or corruption within Anonymous. We are stronger than ever, and are not unfamiliar with issues such as this. Enjoy your view into the political side of Anonymous, but do realize that this exact process is what keeps Anonymous strong.
  14.
  15. We are Anonymous. We are the 99%.
  16. We do not forgive. We do not forget.
  17. Expect us to do our homework.
