  3. 1. During a round of Ninja, you are faxed by Station Command inquiring about an “inspector” who claims to have been sent by the company to evaluate each of the station's departments. How do you respond, and why?
  4.
  5. LanzeToday at 12:09 PM
  6. That heavily depends on what the ninja has done already. If they just boarded or are in the process of boarding I'd check in with an admin, if they have laid out their gimmick and it would be appropiate to confirm it as Central Command. If they have already been hostile/have boarded in a clear hostile intent or no admin/moderator is available to re-check I'd answer that no station evaluation by Central Command had been scheduled that particular shift.

  9. Hmmhm.
  10.
  11. 2. During a round of Crossfire, you are faxed by Station Command about a team of mercenaries who have reported a band of pirates operating in the area. They wish to offer their services to the station as additional security. Command is asking you for your advice on the situation. How do you respond, and why?
  12.
  13. LanzeToday at 12:12 PM
  14. I'd advise the station to politely refuse the offer. The station's ISD should be more than capable of holding off some pirates, they are no uncommon occurance in Tau Ceti and there is no reason to involve any guns for hire in the station's secrity.

  17. 3. You receive an Emergency Broadcast System message from the station’s Artificial Intelligence. It claims that there is an emergency situation, and requests an immediate ERT deployment. How do you respond?
  18. Do note that your powers as CCIA includes the ability to see player status, antagonist status, speak in dosay and aooc, send private messages, use the announcement system, use the fax system, spawn in as a CCIA Agent, spawn in as a ERT Commander, and return to mob (Your previous character)
  19.
  20. LanzeToday at 12:22 PM
  21. I'll check in if the station has been on a higher alert status, Code Blue or Red and if there are situation reports that have been faxed to Central Command. If there is absolutely nothing, but there is command staff, I'd first send a fax, demanding a situation report, as far as I'm aware there is a premade one, the "Prolonged higher alert status with no status updates". I'll wait a bit to give them a chance to respawn, if there is no response at all, I'd spawn in as either an agent or ERT commander to make contact with the station over radio to try to get in a situation report on what is happening and why an ERT would be needed. Depending on their answers I'd decide to send a team or not.
  22.
  23. Soultheif96Today at 12:23 PM
  24. Mhmm.
  25.
  26. 4. You receive a fax from the Internal Affairs Agent, who claims that the Captain has been abusing his authority by removing all of the vending machines from the station and has demoted an engineer for littering. How do you respond?
  27.
  28. LanzeToday at 12:31 PM
  29. Regarding the removal of the vending machines, I'd fax the Captain to explain his actions to Central Command in a responding fax. Since they are loyality implanted I have to assume that they did it for a good reason. If I do not get an answer outright from the Captain, or at all, I'd want IAA to investigate the issue, possibly with other members of command, too, to find out the reasoning behind the removal of said vendors. Again, since the Captain has a loyality implant I do not assume bad faith without further proof or evidence. Regarding the engineer, I'd respond to the IAA agent to properly conduct a first investigation, explain to the engineer that they are free to open an Incident Report and after collecting all statements of all sides, in this case probably the Captain, the engineer and possibly any involved members of the ISD and the Head of Personnel, as well as any kind of evidence to fax it over for review. IAA is also free to recommend an action being taken by CCIA. Depending on what is presented CCIA can follow this recommendation.

  31. Soultheif96Today at 12:32 PM
  32. Mhmm.
  33. 5. In your opinion, how much of a role should Central Command play in the affairs of the station? When is it appropriate for them to directly intervene, and how much should they attempt to shape the round when they do?
  34.
  35. LanzeToday at 12:37 PM
  36. I don't know if there is really a right and wrong answer here, but in my personal opinion, Central Command should involve itself into the round as much as requested(!). Not nessecarily intervene but involve. I'll give an example. I, as Command, often fax Central in non-emergency situations. Sometimes requesting information, sometimes requesting a specialist for some highly specialized field. It doesn't have to be anything antagonist related. I have requested information from the Odin's IT Departmental Archives, a virology specialist from the Medical Division, etc. What I say is - when the players request and want Central's involvement we should give them the opportunity to request something "outside of the box". There are of course situations where it's not possible to fulfill their requests for whatever reason, but then, at least an answer to their faxes, even if it's negative, would be appropiate, so the players know what they can expect and what not, regarding their requests. This kind of interaction can greatly drive a round or story and involve a lot of crew, if done right. It can lead to very unique situations. When it comes to standard operations, though, then Central Command should trust the Aurora and Command to run things smoothly. There is no real reason to try to intervene with the daily life of the station, when it is not asked for. CentComm should not babysit, is what I mean.
  37.
  38. Soultheif96Today at 12:40 PM
  39. 6. What do you believe is the purpose of the Incident Report system?
  40.
  41. LanzeToday at 12:43 PM
  42. Whenever someone feels mistreated, needs to report someone else breaking regulations or being a danger to their coworkers, they should write an Incident Report. There is a clear difference between punishing someone out of character and punishing misbehaviour in character. If someone did something wrong, in character and it was not related to any antag (like, in extended rounds, for example). Then someone can report someone else with an IR. It will be investigated by CCIA and then determined wether there was an infraction or not. Punishment is not all bad though, it can also help shape or develop characters in the long term.
  43.
  44. Soultheif96Today at 12:44 PM
  45. 7. In resolving an Incident Report, when should a character receive significant disciplinary action (such as a demotion), as opposed to a lighter response such as a warning or retraining? Under what circumstances would you consider terminating a character's employment?
  46.
  47. LanzeToday at 12:49 PM
  48. Normally lighter responses, like warning or retraining can be applied if it was the offender's first time being reported or rather, it's the first time to actually apply any disciplinary action. If, on the other hand, they had multiple reports and punishments by the CCIA in the past and they do not seem to learn out of their mistakes, then a demotion could be the nessecary step to show them that they are doing something wrong. Terminating a contract is something I would, under any circumstance, always check with a more experienced agent first, since it's forcing a player to not be able to play their character anymore, so such a decision should not be done lightly. But when it comes to what kind of infractions are nessecary, then for example, when a i301, 302 or 303 applies. There are more, some i200 infractions, too. It, of course, depends on the situation, but no employer would hold any employee after something like that happened.
  49.
  50. Soultheif96Today at 12:50 PM
  51. 8. After taking an IR of your own and completing your interviews, you find that an officer escalated to a forceful arrest when a crewmember resisted detainment. The original reason for the arrest is deemed invalid, however, the officer argues that in resisting arrest the crewman legitimized the detainment. What is the best way to resolve this case?
  52.
  53. LanzeToday at 12:57 PM
  54. Since resisting a proper arrest is an infraction of i202 and I have to assume that the officer had a) a proper warrant and b) did not resort to force in arresting said crewmember until deemed absolutely nessecary (like being attacked by said crewmember, being pushed over, etc) the officer, in the moment of arrest was acting in good faith and within Corporate Regulations. The fact that, afterwards, the reason of arrest was deemed invalid was not a mistake by the officer. If the crewmember would not have resisted against said arrest - which was later deemed invalid, the situation would not have escalated as it has. The officer cannot be held accountable for using force in this situation.
  55.
  56. 9. Your friend Geeves's character is involved in IR as an offender, other agents are either busy in their own IRs or currently unavailable, what do you do?
  57.
  58. LanzeToday at 1:04 PM
  59. I take the IR, since I'm confident in my ability to remain unbiased, when judging a case, even if it involves my friends. I make a clear distinction between OOC, thus the player, and IC, and so the character that player is playing. Just because someone I like plays a character does not mean I dislike said character and vice versa. So, I have no problem investigating a case that involves a character of one of my friends.
  60.
  61. Soultheif96Today at 1:05 PM
  62. Understood. Before I conclude the interview, is there anything you like to ask or discuss about?
  63.
  64. LanzeToday at 1:05 PM
  65. I don't think so
  66.
  67. Soultheif96Today at 1:05 PM
  68. Alright. Thank you for your time.
