La storia parla di Faustus, uno studioso che è annoiato dalle materie che studia in università e cerca qualcosa che lo stimoli di più e che appaghi la sua sete di conoscenza. Si fa così insegnare da due suoi conoscenti alcune pratiche di magia nera, con le quali evoca un demone, Mefistofele, e stipula un patto con lui: Faustus avrà la conoscenza ed i servizi del servo di Lucifero per 24 anni, dopo i quali Lucifero avrà la sua anima. Da quel momento Faustus da il via a una serie di evocazioni e trucchi di magia con i quali diventa famoso in tutto il mondo. Durante tutta la storia è consigliato da due angeli (uno buono e uno cattivo), e sebbene l'angelo buono continui a provare a salvare l'anima a Faustus consigliandogli di pentirsi, le minacce di Mefistofele e le apparizioni di Lucifero lo fanno presto desistere dal proposito di rompere il patto. Giunto quasi alla fine dei 24 anni, fa apparire la leggendaria Elena di Troia, con la quale si concede ad un lungo e proibito abbraccio. La sua anima è quindi dannata per sempre, e Faustus viene fatto a pezzi dai diavoli e viene portato all'Inferno.







The story is about Faustus, an academic bored about the subjects which studies at the university and looking for something interesting and which could satisfy his thirst for knowledge. So he decides to be taught by two friends of him some practices of black magic, with which he evokes a devil, Mephistophilis, and make an agreement with him: "faustus will have the knowledge and the services of the Lucifer's servant for 24 years, and then his soul will be owned by Lucifer. From that moment, Faustus begins a series of evocations and magic tricks with which he becomes famous all over the world.
Throughout all the story, faustus is adviced by two angels (one good and one bad), and although the good one always tries to save Faustus's soul and advices him to repent, the threats of Mephistophilis and the apparitions of Lucifer make him desist about the purpose to break the agreement.
Almost at the end of the 24 years, Faustus makes appear the legendary Helen of Troy, and he has a long and forbidden embrace with her. Consequently, his soul is definitively damned, and faustus  is torn to pieces by the devils and brought to the hell.
