- 4.) 6 [sc, sc, inc] (24)
- 5-7) 24 sc (24)
- 8.) 6sc, 18hdc (24)
- 9.) 4sc, 16hdc, 4sc (24)
- 10-12.) 24sc (24)
- 13.) 6 [sc,sc,dec] (18)
- 14.) 6 [sc, dec] (12)
- Stuff
- 15.) 6 dec (6)
- F/O
- ## Snout (Black Yarn):
- 1.) 3ch (3)
- 2.) 2sc BLO on one side of chain, 2sc BLO on the opposite side of the chain (4)
- 3.) 2[sc, inc] (6)
- 4-5.) 6hdc (6)
- 6.) 6 inc (12)
- 7.) 12 inc (24)
- F/O and leave a tail long enough to sew onto the body
- Stuff the snout lightly if you want
- (I opted to just use the tail from the chain)
- Arms/Legs (Black yarn):
- Make four
- 1.) 4sc in MR (4)
- 2.) sc, inc, inc, sc (6)
- 3-4.) 6[sc]
- 5-7.) 4 sc, turn, F/O and leave a tail long enough to sew onto the body
- Stuff limbs lightly if you want
- Assembling the body:
- Position the snout on the wider end of the body over the center and use a tapestry needle to attach.
- Remember that there are sections of hdcs that give Numby a little hump on his back, so try to positition everything on him relative to that
- Use pins and position his 4 limbs. The flap on the top of the limb is to help attach it to the body
- Numby's back legs usually are just straight down, whereas his front limbs usually have a bend. Since this pattern is pretty small
- I opted to position the two arms on a slight diagonal. But, feel free to attach them however you think looks best.

- ## Top Part (white yarn):
- 1.) 5ch (5)
- 2-3.) 4sc BLO (4), turn
- 4.) 4inc (8), turn
- 5.) 2inc 4sc 2inc (12) turn
- 6-8.) 12sc (12) turn
- 9.) 6sc, turn
- 10.) skip first loop, 5sc (5), turn
- 11-12.) 5sc, turn (5)
- 13.) 16sc, turn (16)
- -- this round will not turn after the 5th sc, but continues past it do the other end of the piece
- -- make sure to keep your stitch marker on the first sc of this row, we'll be using it later
- 14-15.) 6sc, turn (6)
- 16.) 6sc, 2ch, 6sc, turn (14)
- --- make a 2ch over the gap between the two flaps
- --- start your second set of single crochets 6 away from the marker left in step 13
- 17.) 14 sc, turn
- 18.) dec, 4sc, 2sc FLO, 4sc, dec (12)
- 19-20.) 12sc
- 21.) dec, 8sc, dec turn (10)
- 22.) 2dec, 2sc, 2dec, turn (6)
- 23.) dec, sec, turn (2)
- 24.) hdc, sc, turn (2)
- 25.) hdc, 6sc, turn (7)
- -- continue past the last round down the flap that was just made to the other side of the piece
- 26.) hdc, sc, turn (2)
- 27.) sc, hdc, skip 4, sc, F/O and leave a very long tail to sew to body
- Align the little nub on the piece that was just finished on to the snout and drape it over Numby's back so that hole in the top is on the top of his back.
- Sew / attach the white part to Numby's body but do not sew down the two triangle flaps as they are meant to be flappy
- ## Wings (Gold and Purple Yarn):
- Make four total: 2 in purple, 2 in gold
- 1.) 10ch, turn (10)
- 2.) All TLO of chain: inc, 5sc, turn (7)
- 3.) Skip 1, 5sc, turn (5)
- 4.) 3sc, hdc, turn (4)
- 5.) inc, 2sc, turn (4)
- 6.) 4sc, continuing down piece: 7sc , F/O
- - last 3 stitches are TLO of the initial chain
- Finish the wings by pairing a gold wing and purple wing and sewing them together using gold yarn.
- Remember to make the wings opposite of eachother--the purple part should face away from Numby so the left and right sides will be different
- Attach the wings to Numby by sewing the small section of the wing close to his cheek/face

- # The Bow
- ## Ribbon (red yarn):
- 1.) 14ch, turn (14)
- 2-3.) 13sc, turn, F/O and leave a tail.
- Use the tail to sew the two ends of the ribbon together to make a ring.
- Fold the loop so the seam you sewed is in the center, and then wrap some yarn around the middle to taper it.
- If you want to have a thinner ribbon without loops:
- 1.) 8ch, turn (8)
- 2-3) 7sc, turn, F/O
- ## Emblem/Button:
- 1.) 4sc in MR
- 2.) sc, F/O
- Attach the emblem to the ribbon, and then the ribbon to Numby
- Some Notes:
- * You don't have to do the white part of Numby's back as a separate piece, you can totally just do a color change if you want. I just liked how it looked more "3d" as a sep. piece.
- * If you don't want to make Numby you can always skip the Bow and just do the wings in white while re-evaluating your life choices about not making Numby
- * Numby also has some gold patterns on top of his back... I did this in mine but didn't write down the specific instructions because I'm really terrible at doing embroidery things like this.
- And as always--remember:
- Investing in victory means playing the long game
