Mina Nishizawa - Chapter 2 (End)

*beep beep beep*

The shrill tune of your alarm clock wakes you up from your sleep. Opening your eyes and blindly reaching for the red glow of your alarm clock, you turn off the continuous beeps. The darkness continues to envelope your room with a slight sliver of light sneaking through the cracks between your blinds. Sitting up to stretch, you begin to pull down the cord of your blinds to raise them. The blue light of the morning sun quickly floods in your room, giving light to your otherwise plain room.

Getting out of bed, you quickly take care of your morning routine and business then prepare excitedly for today's date with Mina. Exiting your room to head to the Basilicom kitchens, you find yourself alone as normal, as no one is usually awake at these times, adding to that is the fact these next few days are surprise day offs. Turning on the lights, you hum a merry tune to yourself as you prepare your usual breakfast of coffee, eggs and toast.

"Oh my, are you usually already awake at this time?"

A woman's voice rings out in the otherwise silent kitchen. Turning your head to see who it was, you see Mina, yawning. She's more or less still wearing the same clothes from yesterday, but just not wearing the scholar hat.

"Good morning Mina, and yes I'm usually awake at these times already, seeing the morning sun rise as I eat breakfast is quite nice."

"Is that so?"

"Ah, right, would you like some breakfast as well?"

"I couldn't possibly, weren't you the one who carried me back to my room yesterday?"

"It's no problem, making an extra serving isn't a big deal, and yes, Financier helped as well in leading the way."

"Is that so? Thank you for carrying me back and if it's really not a problem..."

"Hope you like eggs and toast. Also how do you prefer your coffee?"

"Just cream, no sugar, I get enough of it from the candies Rom and Ram share with me."

"Alright then."

Preparing a second serving of eggs and toast, you pour a second mug of coffee and add in cream. Finishing up, you place the plates of food on the table where Mina seated herself.

"Thank you very much," says Mina with a smile.

Taking a seat yourself, you begin to eat as Mina follows suit. The clinking of utensils echo, as the morning sun begins to rise in the horizon. You see Mina pause eating as she looks to her back and look at the sun rise.

"I see now why you wake up so early every morning. It's quite the lovely sight to see while eating."

"Not as lovely as you."

You see her stiffen in her chair as she looks at you with a blush, the rising sun giving her a radiating aura, almost angelic. Lost in her beauty, you find yourself drinking in the sight of Mina. Her cerulean eyes, and beautifully cute face, mesmerizing you, it seems she's saying something.

"...are you alright?"

Shaking your head, you break yourself out of the sudden stupor.

"I'm alright, just when I saw you with the rising sun behind you, it was like an angel, I just couldn't help but get stunned."

You see her blush and look downwards as she fidgets in her chair. "F-flattery will get you n-nowhere b-but, thank you."

Finishing up breakfast, you begin to take the plates from the table as Mina stops you.

"No, let me do it, it's the least I can do, I'll feel bad if I let you serve me breakfast and then have to clean up as well."

You open your mouth in protest but she gives you a sudden blood chilling glare. "O-okay."

The sudden chill in the air disappears and you see her smiling face once again. "Thank you."

Standing up, she takes the plates, mugs and utensils from the table and heads to the sink, happily humming to herself as she washes them. You remember that she is the oracle of Lowee for a reason, and able to control the rambunctious twins. Shortly after you see her finish cleaning up and return to the table where you're sitting.

"I'd like to thank you again and apologize for making you carry me back to my bedroom."

"It was no problem, seeing your cute sleeping face made it all worth it."

You see her blush at your words and fidget in her chair. "P-please... a-anyway, it seems there's still plenty of time before our date so, I will take my leave for now and we'll see each other later, okay?"

"We'll meet up by the Basilicom entrance then?"

"Yes."

You both take your separate ways for the morning, you see her walk back to her room as you head back to yours. Entering back to your room, you begin to check and finish up any possible official Basilicom business to minimize any interruptions.

Finishing up the last of the duties, it's almost time to meet up with Mina. You put on the clothes you prepared from last night, checked yourself one last time in the mirror, and exited your room.

Walking excitedly to the entrance of the Basilicom, you're glad to see that you seem to be the first one there. Double-checking your watch, you're only a few minutes early. As you begin to wait, you quickly see someone walking towards you. The figure gets closer and you begin to recognize who it is.

It's Mina, wearing her outdoor winter garb. You see that it's made up of a red coat, a white scarf, black tights and brown boots. Waving at you as she closes the distance, you wave back at her as she speaks.

"Did you wait long for me?"

"No, I just got here myself actually. Are you ready to go?"

"Yes, let's go."

Offering her your hand, she accepts it and you begin your stroll together towards the amusement park. The relatively short journey to the amusement park was wholly uneventful but enjoyable, as you felt the softness of Mina's hand and the simple joy of being close to someone you love.

Reaching the park entrance, the gatekeepers let the both of you in, with just proof of identification, a few of the perks of being Basilicom staff members. You notice that since the park just opened its gates, the population inside is still relatively sparse. Looking at Mina, you begin to discuss the proposed plan from yesterday.

"Should we walk around for now, and wait for more people to enter, or should we drink in the solitude and enjoy the rides now?"

"Hm, let's go walk around for now, is this your first time in the park?"

"Yes, actually. So, please, lead the way."

"Alright, don't let go of my hand and if we somehow get separated just stay in one place."

"Uh, Mina we're both adults here..."

"Oh! J-just force of habit from Rom and Ram... but all the same, since you've never been here, it applies."

"Fair enough, okay, lead the way Mina."

Tightening her grip on your hand, she leads the way in touring you around the amusement park. She shows you the different rides and describes them, even giving you some fun facts with some of them, she also tells you the different landmarks that makes it easier to navigate the park.

"You know Mina, the way this tour of the park is going, it reminds me of the school trips I've had when I was younger."

You see her stand in place as she heard your words, she turns her head towards you with a blush. "I-I'm sorry, I just got into the same way I usually explain things with the twins."

"Oh! No, no, it's not a bad thing, I'm having plenty of fun, it just made me think of how much care and attention you dedicate to your job. It's admirable."

Her blush deepens as you finish talking. "T-thank you for the kind words once again, let's continue the tour then shall we?"

As the tour concludes, you find that the two of you are back at the main entrance of the park. More people are slowly filling up the park, there are some lines for some of the rides now and the whole place is looking livelier.

"Now that you've shown me around the park, let's get started on our plans for the rides."

"Okay, but," you see her give you a small smirk, "you lead the way this time, teacher will grade you if you've been listening."

Your eyes widen as your eyebrows knit. "W-what?"

Seeing her burst out giggling suddenly from your distressed expression, you hear her continue. "Ahaha, don't worry, I'm just having a bit of fun, we'll go together."

Sighing in relief as she keeps giggling, you give her a pout and a smile. "That's pretty mean, Mina."

She offers you her hand. "Are you ready to go?"

Taking her hand, you give her a nod as you two walk towards the rides.

The hours pass as you two enjoy the rides together. Riding the spinning tea cups, you  see her hair fly in the air, her scarf nearly flying off. You heard her shriek in enjoyment along with the fast descent of the rollercoaster. She surprised you with how well she handled the karts when you two decided to try them out. Even the wait for the rides seem to be non-existent with Mina waiting alongside you.

The day quickly turns into dusk as the flying carousel ride comes to a stop. You see Mina hop out of her seat and hold your hand as you stand up.

"This has been the most enjoyable visit to the park I've had."

"Is it really different without the twins?"

"Quite so, but," looking at you with a smile, "I think you being here made all the difference."

Blushing, you hold her hand firmly as you smile. "I wouldn't be having as much fun here without you as well."

Exiting the ride, you see the sun quickly setting, giving an end to the day. Remembering that there are fireworks scheduled to take place shortly, you ask Mina if she knows of a good spot to watch the fireworks.

"Where do you think is a nice spot to watch the fireworks?"

"Ah, I think on top of the Ferris Wheel is a good spot, as cliche as it is."

"Sounds perfect."

Walking towards the Ferris Wheel, you see the huge crowd of people who seem to have the same idea. Mina looks at you with a nonchalant smile.

"It seems we're not the only one with the same idea. Don't worry."

Grabbing your hand, she starts to lead the way. Weaving through the crowds, you eventually see a forest clearing near the park, with no one in the vicinity. You see her materialize her magical staff as she begins to cast. Magical energy surrounds you as you see yourself suddenly floating in the air along with Mina. She finishes casting as you two steadily continue rising in the air. Looking at you with a reassuring face, she begins to speak.

"Don't worry, this is perfectly safe. This is basically just a levitation spell. It'll last for a while and even if it did suddenly run out, you'll find yourself gently floating down."

Trusting Mina, you begin to relax and sit down as Mina sits next beside you and rests her head on your shoulder.

"This is a spell I usually cast with the twins when they want to see the fireworks but we can't find a decent spot."

"Very useful it seems."

"Most definitely. Ah, it seems the fireworks are starting."

You turn to the source of the sudden bright lights, as the fireworks display starts. The various mascots of the park fill the air, along with different words of thanks to the patrons of the park.

Looking at Mina, watching the display, you see her look at you as well. Swallowing your nervousness, you ask Mina.

"Mina..."

"Yes?"

"M-may I..?"

She gives you a sweet smile in reply as she closes her eyes. You lean towards her and lock your lips with her as you caress her face with your hand. Her soft lips press unto yours as you feel her arm move you closer towards her. Breaking the kiss shortly after, you see her contently smile as she speaks.

"That was my first kiss, and I'm glad that you were my first one."

"I-I was?"

"Yes, and I hope that, that wouldn't be the only one tonight."

She finishes her sentence and she gives you a kiss once more.

"I love you, Mina."

"And I love you as well."

Sharing passionate kisses throughout the evening, content with each other's company, your relationship with Mina, can only get better from here on.
