- The airship was small, and riding in it was not going to be the comfiest experience. But then again, beggars can't be choosers when they opt to take 'the next available ride to Outer Hayven'! This was a...very small ship, though, with only 3 seats adorning the passenger area. One of the seats- and the vast majority of the area itself- was covered in materials the citizens of Outer Hayven ordered. Another seat was preoccupied by a zebra with a bored expression on his face, a portion of which was covered by the hoof resting against his cheek. He took his parent's advice from back in the other realm to arrive at the airport two hours early (That was a mistake). A black patch covered his left eye, though his right seemed to soak in everything it could possibly see with its strikingly golden coloring. The airship (which really, was closer to a hot air balloon than an actual ship) was about to take off, though it was waiting for just oooone more passenger...
- Unlike the other Zebra, this one failed to make it a point to be punctual. She cantered through the airstrip, scanning each ship and hoping the next one would be the one she was looking for. "Oh, I hope it didn't take off without me," she muttered to herself through haggard breaths. As luck would have it, moments after that she spotted the meager airship that was her destination. Immediately her canter broke into a gallop as she rocketed towards the vessel. She slowed her pace only after she was only a few feet away from the hull of the ship and took a moment to catch her breath, readjust the unwashed bag she carried, and brush her unruly mane out of her face. Still panting, she looked up to the other Zebra already on the ship, smiled and addressed him, "Heya. This is the ship to Outer Hayven, yeah?"
- The male zebra seems to raise an eyebrow as he's addressed, less than a fraction of a second later smiling warmly with a nod. "I'd certainly hope so... Outer Hayven's where I paid to go." His voice was a smooth baritone, and the chuckle that emitted from his striped muzzle matched that perfectly.
- "Well, let's hope we're both going to the right place," the mare exclaims as she boards and takes the seat next to him with a thud. A sigh escapes from her muzzle, relieved that she made it to her flight. She turns to the stallion, briefly looking him over with inquisitive lavender eyes. "So what brings you out to Outer Haven? Anything good?"
- The zebra sighs out in relief with another grin, forelegs crossing behind his head to form a nice cushion from the... not so great seat. His physique was certainly an athletic one, but he couldn't be described as neither big nor swole. "I've tempted fate a bit too much on my own... and feel like I'd enjoy something a little closer to home!"
- "And you, Miss Mare? What brings you here- a dare?"
- He groans as he leans a little further against his seat, sinking slowly. "Ugh, that wasn't a good rhyme. Maybe I should think before asking for magic a second time..."
- The mare chuckles, "Two strikes! The next one better be good, or you're out, buddy." There's a moment of silence between the two as she shakes her head in dissapointment, but the smirk on her face betrays her amusement. "So anyways, it appears I have similar reasons to your own. I've also been travelling on my own, though it sounds like yours have been more dangerous than mine. I've heard about Outer Hayven and have been curious about it, but it hasn't really been a priority." She shrugs, "Figured it's about time I checked it out though. See what they've done for themselves here." Her gaze drifts to all the stuff around the two of them, letting her words hang for a moment before abruptly turning back to her co-passenger. "So! From your home comment, I take it you're from Earth as well?"
- His ears pin back as his golden eye soaks up that disappointment... but the amused expression that follows made him relax a little more with another smirk. He nods, "Oh yes, and it's a world I really do miss. I wasn't particularly traveling alone, but our paths diverged and I got sorta boned. Even if your travels weren't as dangerous, what did you do? Did you find anything mysterious?"
- Her name face lights up at the question."Oh have I ever! I just- ngh. Words fail to convey how pleased I am to be here. There's just so much to take in, and it's all soo strange and new and fantastical. Oh and don't get me started on the magic, alchemy and the like. It's all just so interesting. I was thankfully given a chance to try alchemy with some practiced Zebras and what astounds is how much of that stuff isn't even about the physical ingredients. It's almost like it's only half of the ingredients and the rest you bring on a kind of spiritual, emotional, magical level. It's something that you can't really describe and is more felt into than anything. But anyways, I've mostly been spending my time learning about the land, the people, the magic, and just contently wandering. Yourself?"
- "Hah, that explains why it was never something I could do. But I travelled with an experienced zebra that could whip up all sorts of mean brews!"
- He shifts in his seat, holding onto the headrest during a particularly bumpy part of the ride. "Ah, but where are my manners! My name is, or was, Goldeneyes." He taps below his eyepatch and snorts, "It's a pleasure to meet you, miss... Lavendereyes?"
- "Oh! Right, names. The name's Jenara." Then in a crude attempt at a villain voice, she speaks, "Pleasure to meet you Mr. Bond," She then raises a hoof to him whilst sneering.
- Goldeneye raises a brow in a mock suave expression as he went to a more refined pose. "If only I were! Though... I do prefer things shaken, not stirred. It's a pleasure to meet you! The name was given by the zebra I assisted... he told me it fit more than my Earth name- oh, that's information not needed. I suppose Goldeneye fits even better now?" He barks out a laugh, though it's broken up by some turbulence!
- Jenara loses her balance for a moment due to the turbulence, but promptly rights herself to quip, "Yeah, nearly as smooth as him too." She flashes another smirk at him before leaning towards the edge of the airship to get a better view of the land below. It stretched in all directions. Verdant forests lay beneath them, obscuring the land with waves of leafy treetops. Jenara spots a clearing in the woods below just off the port side and can just barely see the variety of wildflowers that bloom within it.
- "Y'know, this is actually my first time in one of these. I've done flights during my time on Earth, but those were all large commercial jets. Flying at this height, you get a literal bird's eye view. Far enough to see soo much, but close enough still see some discrete features."
- Goldeneye tries to enjoy the view over the airship ...A feat that would be easy if he wasn't so deathly afraid of heights. He goes a bit green in the face before going back to sitting upright, body a little rigid. "And rickety enough to know you can fall! ...Sorry, the fear of heights is a little new, usually I have a fair amount of gall. I prefer to stay on the ground; it's comforting, firm and less turbulent all a-ROund!" The last bump sets him straight though, and a minute later he seems a little better. A sheepish smile on his face as he scratches the back of his neck. "Then again, I didn't fly that much back when I was human."
- And soon, the forests begin to get a little more... jungly
- Jenara waves a hoof in Goldeneye's direction. "Oh, I used to be scared of heights too. Once you get over the fact that whether you live or die is now in the hands of whatever you're on and that you have little or no control over it, then it's not soo bad," she gleefully says, beaming towards him. Without skipping a beat she turns back to the edge of the ship. "Boy, this place really is far out here, isn't it?"
- Goldeneye seems to think on that for a second before furrowing his brow and scrunching his snout. "...I don't trust fate when it's not in my control... which seems to be more often than not ever since the whole... you know!" He gestures to his zebra body before smirking with a sigh. "It's far in the deep and mysterious south, an adventurer's hayven." He chews his hoof for a second as they hit some more turbulence. "T-though I think I'd be more excited when we're not so close to heaven! I think we'll be in town before the clock strikes eleven."
- It was getting late! Even Goldeneye would be more relaxed as the sky turned to a much more mellow and beautiful sunset.
- If Jenara knew how to tell based on sun and sundown, she'd reckon it was 10:30 give or take 20 minutes!
- Jenara takes note of the position of the sun and remarks, "well it shouldn't be too much longer then. Maybe around a half hour left." She continues to stare off at the scenery below, the developing sunset and the colors it produces in the sky.
- Goldeneye begins to smile again as he sinks back into his seat from the news, internally counting down the seconds once a time's been announced. "Awesome! The view is astonishing, but from this height a little fearsome... Oh! Before we touch down, did you have any ideas of what to do around town? I can't imagine being out on adventures 24/7, but can't place a finger on what else to do at Outer Hayven."
- Jenara cocks her head and takes a moment to ponder the question. "Y'know," she starts, turning to Goldeneye to reply, "I hadn't put that much thought into it. I'm awful curious how everyone else is taking this whole situation, so I suppose a hefty amount of socializing and people watching, but I can't say I've planned any further than that." She then chuckles and apologetically smiles. "Sorry if that wasn't much help. I'm not the kind to plan any further that necessary, and my idea of what's needed tends to be lacking," which she ends with a smirk and a shrug.
- Goldeneye shrugs with a chuckle, "I suppose we'll both wing it till opportunity knocks. Till then I suppose I'd do odd jobs for a few bucks!" He swishes his tail as he hears the captain announce that they were finally descending. "Ahah, finally! Again, thanks for keeping me company! Perhaps we'll meet again- this is a small colony."
- "I look forward to it. Stay pony, Golden-boy!" Jenara exclaims as she heads off to see what this sequestered settlement has to offer.
