A young woman discovers her destiny as an heiress of intergalactic nobility and must fight to protect the inhabitants of Earth from an ancient and destructive industry.
Jupiter Jones was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people's houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine Wise, a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along - her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.
Let me try to explain the plot to you. <br/><br/>A woman from Earth is being hunted by some aliens because she&#39;s a princess or a queen of a powerful house in the universe, whilst Channing Tatum and Sean Bean set out to protect her. <br/><br/>Blimey that&#39;s a mouthful for me. My partner and I were waiting in line to see a film when we spotted Jupiter Ascending, we love science fiction so it only seemed reasonable that we see it. Right? Yeah, I kind of wish we hadn&#39;t. <br/><br/>To be blunt, the film has so much stuffed into it, I couldn&#39;t tell who was doing what, who was working for who and...yeah it&#39;s bad. The visual&#39;s are stunning and it&#39;s the only real reason the movie gets a 5. The action sequences themselves are not too bad either but overall it&#39;s just not a good film.
One of the few movies in the history of cinema that deserves a straight 1 — A vulnerable teen girl whose role is suppose to provide identification for other teens gets sucked into a an incoherent sh*t storm of story fragments, horrible actors and uninspired special effects. The movie leaves no doubt that its &quot;story&quot; is in fact a continuous plot hole of intergalactic proportions, penetrating every last element of the film: Characters lack backgrounds and credibility, no one will give the slightest f*ck about any of them. The locations are copied straight out of the rich archive of other failed Sci Fi movies and connected by space gates featuring wild random effects. The Dialogues, and foremost those of &quot;romantic tension&quot; between the hero and her protector, are embarrassing to an extent which makes you want to outright leave the cinema.<br/><br/>I did not think the day would come, but Jupiter in fact surpasses titles like Anaconda 2 and the Robocop remake, ascending straight up to the throne of unsurpassable fails.
Even with all its familiar action tropes, less-than-fresh special effects and loopy plotting, the most depressing element in the Wachowski siblings' latest sci-fi mash is that, as they conceive it, human society has been around for more than a billion years but is still presided over by a rivalrous British-style royal family that treacherously behaves as if it were the 1550s.
Much to the surprise of Sean Bean fans everywhere, he does. It is revealed that he was given biomechanical wings when he rose to the rank of skyjacker and after attacking an entitled, he was stripped of his rank and his wings were taken. At the end of the film, he is shown with wings, having apparently been reinstated in the legion and having them returned. Although there is no real reason for his having wings other than to help show him as a metaphorical guardian angel.  a5c7b9f00b
