personality: Growing up, Beatrice always had serious insecurities. With her mother being egotistical and obsessed with beauty, she often made it clear that Beatrice wasn't as pretty as the rest of the girls in her family. She was always docile and scared to speak up, preferring to stay quiet in fear of being ridiculed. However, there is a certain spark of rebellious snark hidden in her that was only present whenever she was around her brother and was cultivated when she befriended Minyoung.

She's calm, kind, and peaceful, the dubbed peacemaker of the group and the one to settle conflicts between the girls. When there is panic, she is the comforter and the ones to reassure the girls. Due to her being insecure, Beatrice can sometimes overthink things and be a little too alert and observant. She thinks about the thoughts of other people too much and she aims to please. Her being extremely observant can lead to the discovery of secrets and the revelation of important clues. She is also selfless and caring, putting others before herself. Beatrice is very protective of her friends and would do anything to keep them safe.

Beatrice is the type to get hurt very easily. She takes comments to heart, even if it is joking, and is very soft. She gives great advice to people and is very generous. She can be a little too innocent and gullible at times, leading her to trust anyone who pays her even a little amount of affection/attention. Beatrice is also stubborn and optimistic.

Beatrice is intelligent, though she doesn't show it. She works hard in school to the point where she got many acceptance letters from the top ten colleges of her choice. She is able to solve intricate puzzles and hack into computers. She has a silent thirst for adventure and thrill. Minyoung saw this and often took advantage of it. She cultivated Beatrice's impulsive spark.

When she befriended Minyoung, Beatrice was a little starstruck. She admired Minyoung's confidence and her ability to take charge and be who she wants to be. Minyoung often teased her about her looks and never defended her from bullies but she also taught Beatrice how to stand up for herself and to release her inner fire. At the same time, Minyoung often took advantage of Beatrice's submissive nature and forced her to do what she said, which caused Beatrice to hold a little bit of resentment in her. With Minyoung's presence, Beatrice became more bold, more open and outgoing, along with allowing herself the freedom of being herself.

After Minyoung's disappearance, the bullies began to attack her more ruthlessly. Sick of the treatment, Beatrice began to care much more for her looks. She listened to Minyoung's advice and became more aware of herself. She broke out of her shell and let her confidence shine. She's more outspoken, rebellious, bold, witty, and sarcastic. She still has her moments of doubt and sometimes she loses her confidences and draws back into the shell again. Some people think of her as self-obsessed due to the amount of time she spends looking in the mirror, however, she's still worried about how other people think of her looks and is never satisfied. She's also become more diva-like and meaner - more prone to standing up to the mean girls, though she never resorts to bullying.

She pretends to act indifferent and uncaring when she really cares a lot. She became closer with Jeudi after their sudden decision to change. They bonded over their struggles with self-concept and helped each other with the transformation.

background: Beatrice comes from a well-off family. Though not exactly rich, her family is well-known in Korea. Her mother is a famous model while her father is a small firm lawyer. Her parents moved to the US five years before she was born in order for her older sister to study abroad. She was born in the United States and was raised there until the death of her father when she was fourteen years old.

Growing up with her extremely attractive mother and sister, Beatrice was very insecure of herself. Her mother had very high standards when it came to beauty and always told her that her looks were subpar compared to her sister. Her sister, taking after her mother's egotistical and higher-than-thou attitude, always put down her looks and made backhanded comments. Beatrice's father was always busy with his small firm and in the rare chances that he was home, was too busy fawning over her mother and agreeing with every word she said to pay attention to his children. She found solace in her older brother, who was always there to make fun of their family and the one who stood by her side.

In school, Beatrice was naturally withdrawn and quiet. The kids left her alone and the girls in her sister's clique would always whisper and poke fun at her looks. She did great in school, preferring the books than actual friends and was labeled as the teacher's pet. However, she didn't struggle until the first days of puberty - when the pimples came and everyone (including her sister) made fun of her acne. At the age of thirteen, her father's dead body was found in a lake. Her mother decided to return to Korea, where her grandparents were, due to her having troubles raising them alone.

She met Minyoung by accident when she was fourteen years old. She was in the mall with her sister when Minyoung accidentally bumped into her. It turns out that they went to the same school and she invited Beatrice to join her little clique. Though Minyoung also poked fun at her looks, she tried to help Beatrice to become more confident in herself. Beatrice admired Minyoung and eventually took pointers over the summer of her death.

his personality: Jimin is sweet, kind, and affectionate. He might be a little shameless and overconfident at times, but he also has a few insecurities in terms of his body and looks. He's hardworking, almost to the point where he disregards his health, and a little bit of a perfectionist. He can be sassy and a little shit sometimes, but overall, Jimin is compassionate, caring, and kind.

He's kind of docile in which he lets people let make fun of him, but he can also get irritated and angry easily (especially when it involves his height). Jimin is incredibly sincere and honest, along with trustworthy. Sometimes he can be a bit shy, especially when it comes to getting compliments and is very humble. Despite being open, Jimin has some skeletons in his closet that he prefers to hide. He can be very flirty and is a heartthrob. He lures people in with his voice and smile, but once you're drawn into his gravity, you can't escape unscathed.

how do you act around him: I'm pretty normal. But I may or may not look (read:stare) at him every chance that I get, because let's face it - he's hella attractive. Honestly, his bubbly presence kinda irritates me and his cheesy pickup lines and overall shamelessness is a little unnerving and eye roll worthy. But he's just captivating, I guess.

your relationship with him: Acquaintances/Tutor-Tutoree; They know of each other, but never found a reason to interact. It wasn't until Bea had to tutor Jimin for extra-credit that they got to know each other.

"Minyoung was a close friend. Yes, she took advantage of our friendship; yes, I was only her pawn, but she inspired me to break out my shell and be confident. I might have gotten tired of all her bullshit and all the trouble she caused for me, but I could never wish death upon anyone - especially someone as close to me like Minyoung was. There was a part of me that wished she went away, just not in this way."
