  1. RETROARCH FOR RETARDS (1.7.0)
  2. -Download latest stable release for your OS (https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/)
  3. -Extract the folder wherever you intend on keeping it (like c:\retroarch)
  4. -Plug in a gamepad (preferably one with xinput support) for easier UI navigation. A (X for PS) = forward, B (O for PS) = back, dpad or analog stick for up/down/left/right.
  5. -Press Right once to navigate to the settings tab and navigate to the video tab
  6. -Enable 'start in fullscreen mode', Disable 'windowed fullscreen mode', 'crop overscan', and 'bilinear filter'
  7. -(Advanced) If your CPU scores beyond a 2000 (for gen1-4 systems) or 2300 (for gen5+ systems) here https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html enable 'hard gpu sync'.
  8. -Back out to the settings tab and navigate to the input tab.
  9. -Set analog stick deadzone to 0.300.
  10. -Navigate to 'input hotkey binds' and learn the hotkeys, or bind your own. You should probably unbind (press B or O on your gamepad) 'quit retroarch' since it usually won't save any changes you made if you exit that way.
  11. -Back out to the main menu, open 'online updater', 'core updater', and download the cores you're interested in. 'Beetle PSX (non HW), mGBA, Nestopia UE, Snes9x, GenesisPlusGX, Gambatte' all recommended.
  12. -Back out to the main menu again, 'configurations', 'save current configuration', back out the main menu and 'quit retroarch'
  13. -Start it up again and ensure all of your settings saved.
  14. -Move left once on the main menu to navigate to the playlist importer.
  15. -Point it towards your rom folder(s) and scan your roms. If you're using bad dumps like a retard, it won't scan them. Download Redump/No-Intro dumps next time and read the fucking wiki.
  16. -If you have good dumps, it will have created playlist tabs for each console.
  17. -Navigate back to the settings tab, enter the 'playlist' options section, and set the proper emulator for each playlist.
  18. -Main menu once more, 'configurations', 'save current configuration', back out the main menu and 'quit retroarch'
  19. -Start it up one last time, and if everything saved, you're done. Pick a game from your playlist, fire it up, and away you go.
  20. -Pressing the Xbox/Playstation button (or F1) once you've loaded a game will bring up the quick menu. You can apply shaders, or mess with the core config or controls.
