An Announcement From Junk Maker Sounds (1/1/2018)

Hello, everybody! It’s your friends at Junk Maker Sounds here! As we start the new year off, we would not only like to wish everybody a happy new year, but we would also like to make an announcement about an exciting future release we have in store for the label that requires the help of you, the vaporwave community!

We are curating a vaporwave tribute album to Iggy Pop and The Stooges with all the proceeds from the future cassette release going towards donations to Next For Autism, and we’re looking for artists and producers to help contribute to this release!

Vaporwave in 2018, the here and now, is a broad genre filled with different sets of microgenres and styles, and we here at Junk Maker Sounds recognize that, this little internet-born niche genre has turned into something much bigger than any of us could have possibly imagined! With this in mind we wish to welcome all different styles and subgenres to give their own unique spins on the classic Stooges catalog, so just remember no sound is too weird for us, and we look forward to hearing your creations.

The rules for submitting a song to us are simple…

1. This is a Stooges tribute compilation, while we here at Junk Maker Sounds are incredibly fond of Iggy Pop’s solo career ("Lust For Life" is one of our all-time favorite albums,) we want to focus on The Stooges, so please keep your source material limited to their three original records; "The Stooges," "Fun House," or "Raw Power." Anything outside of that will not be considered for inclusion on this compilation

2. Send all submissions to [email protected] for consideration to be included

3. Please have all submissions sent in by March 1st, 2018 in order to be considered for inclusion onto this compilation

4. Stay tuned for a release date! We will be making periodic announcements as time goes on

5. No spamming our email asking if we've listened to your songs, please! We will be looking over every submission very carefully and we will certainly be sure to get back to you once we hear your submission!

6. Have fun! This is all going towards a great cause that’s near and dear to the entire Junk Maker Sounds family
