  1. Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader:
  2. In my view this is a decently straightforward 2v2. Both sides start off with some prep time - ZFS girding themselves with crab leg armor, YMCA snagging the dead body - before engaging in a game of cat and mousecrab: ZFS looking to keep poking until their enemy is weak/paralyzed enough to go for the kill, YMCA looking to get in and stay in melee range for a beatdown. I see ZFS taking a bit longer, given the time it takes to apply camouflage make up in the dark with "professional" level skill.
  3.
  4. Given YMCA’s mobility and Climbatize’s A PRE tracking overcoming ZFS’s stealth, I imagine that they catch up sooner rather than later. SA needs a lot of mass to deal significant damage - the equivalent of a single sized bed for B POW - meaning that dealing a major blow at distance will take time if SA is being fed garbage and dirt for ammo. I don't quite buy the lasers moving at lightspeed - not even A SPD is that fast - but even if you hold they move at B(ullet) SPD, YMCA's Stands at least match the laser speeds, prepared to defending with their reflective surfaces.
  5.
  6. During this lengthy reload period, YMCA has a bevy of options to deal with the interference ZFS throws their way, having specified how to deal with the buffet of crab legs Gibson has left for them: dodging them if they're attached to cars, or having the A POW/SPD, C DUR/PRE Descendents capably destroy the C POW/SPD/DUR and D PRE legs.
  7. Once they get in range, I think the superior bruisers of Climbatize and Descendents are enough to overwhelm ZFS. In particular, YMCA’s A Secret Plan...!! against the Zabuza of the Further Sniper is an efficient way to get Milo around Gibson with B POW and SPD to take out Olivia, the lynchpin of ZFS’s gameplan. From there, it’s one final push for the win.
  8.
  9. Relying on kiting with Strange Attraction before going for the finish was an understandable strategy that went outplayed; better use of Gibson’s scaling zone control would have probably net a victory. However, I feel comfortable giving ZFS a 7/10, no real mistakes or misplays and it’s a well written strat. Despite it feeling a bit high, I’m giving a YMCA a 9/10 for smart reads, good use of all of the environment, and some tech that actually wowed me.
  10.
  11. Chun-Li vs M Bison:
  12. This is a straightforward fight that is a very nice break from all the loaded and complicated matches. And both teams did pretty great here!
  13.
  14. I'm going to drop the individual team strategy assessment and just go with an intertwined one, given the intertwined nature of this match.
  15.
  16. ZFS Plays a game of scaling, covering things with crab legs to give themselves armor, an edge in close quarters combat, and some minions in things like crash and recycrab, as well as getting themselves into a position to stealthily move around by taking out lights and camouflaging themselves. Meanwhile, YMCA grabs the body and falls back, increasing their mobility via Flint folding himself up for easy carrying as a hat, while still leaving his stand available for actions and attacks.
  17.
  18. YMCA does well to counter ZFS' scaling with reflective surfaces and keeping their agility up to be able to keep away from crab legs, but ZFS doesn't slouch either, keeping themselves protected with their crab leg armor; I do think the stealth probably gets uncovered pretty quick as other judges have said. From this point, let's talk about fights.
  19.
  20. ZFS, as mentioned, relies a lot on scaling; SA relies on a pretty decent amount of mass to build up its more powerful lasers, and that's where most of the ranged advantage for ZFS comes from; YMCA has good defenses in the reflective surfaces against these lasers, and once that's exhausted, that gives the close-range advantaged YMCA the opportunity to close in and engage in close quarters combat.
  21. All things considered, with the crab armor and legs covering a lot of surfaces as well as your crab minions, you did well to account for your weaknesses on this front and even the odds a little in a close fight; all it takes it one stab from a paralysis leg to give you a pretty good opening for some more decisive strikes.
  22. That said, I do think YMCA gave themselves the upper hand here with some great surprise attacks, namely flying in as a paper airplane to get an attack in from above, which I thought was pretty clever. Overall, I feel like the teams play to their advantages very well in combat.
  23.
  24. As for scores, after some consideration, I feel it was very close. I'm going to give YMCA a 9/10, and ZFS an 8/10. YMCA has a slight edge over ZFS as I think they counter-played a bit better, setting up good defenses against both enemy stands by keeping their agility up and having reflective defenses against SA; but I also felt ZFS did well to even the odds in close quarters and keep YMCA on their toes. great work from both teams.
  25.
  26. Inigo Montoya vs Count Rugen:
  27. This was a pretty good match with good pieces of planning and environmental usage. Although a minor gripe with both strats is they do not really account for the stand bodies of their opponents.
  28. YMCA:
  29. On YMCA's strat there was some good ranged defense to help supplement their rushdown. The car hood shields would be fairly effective once set up, but getting the car hood is harder to do than you might expect. After some research on car alarms, the front hood might be openable from the outside with some difficulty, but it is more than likely to have an alarm that needs to be avoided that triggers on opening, yes the alarm on the front hood would also be activated on opening unless you perfectly avoid the opening mechanism when getting the hood. Either way it is probably a higher risk than I would have liked to see and probably require the use of both stands to get the hood completely off without triggering the voltage switch. Not a strat killer as you do have other means of defense besides this being your primary one. Offensively the strat is fairly simple, going for Olivia first before trying to go for Antonio as well as taking care of crab legs that are on the path. Most notable would probably be the ranged offense of the corpse throw, while it could reasonably go either way for whether or not Olivia can defend against it, it is a nice way to shore up your option coverage. I think the strat gets a 7 most of it coming down to that risk factor that I would argue wasn't fully necessary given you could have used cover, dim lighting, and mirrors to create about as an effective result, but you did do fairly well to cover most options otherwise.
  30. Zenith:
  31. So on this side, we have more sneakier play using crab legged minions and high ground. I think the strategy was about what I would have expected, but not bad. I think there was a good amount of room for improvement with this strategy, namely utilizing SA's lasers to bounce off mirrors offensively instead of it all being something to be avoided at all cost. Another thing I wanted to see was interesting crab leg placement, using them to scale walls was nice, but I think the physics aspect could have been tinkered with a bit more, maybe by placing some of the legs as arms, maybe a tripod formation of legs, maybe making a wheel of legs on an object. Although needing some time and precision to set up, I think the result might have been better than just sending basic minions at YMCA. The ambush was a nice attempt, even though Climbatize could sense air currents, with the minions you send and the focus they put on Olivia, I could see it working out in you favor, but again could have a little extra something to it to push it over the top. I will also give this strat a 7 for all of what I wanted to see, the strat is still probably effective enough overall with how it goes.
