- +Terran Downvale __ I did a Google Image search for one of the faces from the police Tweet. Magically - Google seemed to know it was a mugshot and gave a whole lot of rather similar faces (also mugshots). Some of them looked like "morphed versions" of a "template" (I'll post a screenshot in a little while).
- *Could this practice simply be a way of making people think negatively about a certain kind of appearance*? (The mugshots would only have relevance to a particular area - but yet here I am in Australia getting exposed to it - so it reaches a far wider audience than is practical/useful.)
- If the mugshot looks like "the average person [blended]" (for an "ethnicity" or a way certain people/groups are "dressing/appearing") then wouldn't people [on an "unconscious" level] end up thinking _"hey, that guy *looks a bit like* the guy in the mugshot I saw - it's not him - but a bit similar"_ etc.
- Slowly - bit by bit - the population forms a "stereotype" in their mind.
- Anyone can go to any frame of a movie and just by looking at the people on screen - and noticing how they are dressed and what they look like - *can probably "figure out" who is supposed to be the "bad person"*.
- But think about it - *how can that even be*? It can only be the case if people *really do judge others on their appearance* (in that way)?
- *And just who is influencing those judgments*? Etc.
