  1. 2. Explain, in your opinion, why organization is extremely important in police work. (minimum 250 words)
  2.
  3. I'm going to explain quite extensively with my knowledge of law enforcement infrastructures and the benefits to having a solid structure that allows for intelligence-led policing to thrive and excel within the agency first and then move onto field based policing organization.
  4.
  5. Police Departments have operational systems as to which are no more complex than other organizational systems. Police Organizations consist of numerous involved subsystems, a clear example is Units and Departments within the Los Santos Police Department. Most of these administrative and field-based operational units depend on one another for them to be effective in their duties of fighting crime. Taking the Training & Employment Division as a prime example they're essential to the stability of the LSPD's infrastructure and organization, without them there would be no newly educated officers being deployed into the field whom are certified to undertake the duties of a Law Enforcement Officer and fight crime effectively or professionally.
  6.
  7. The Los Santos Police Department adapts a traditional structural perspective in looking at things from the top to bottom. This is where the organization and ranking infrastructure comes into place, you've got your branch of executives that monitor and deal with higher tiered policing duties such as the administrative management of the agencies forever judged image and professional standards to amending and developing structural changes, they're essential and pinnacle to the departments stability as they focus on the direction of the agency as a whole. Below the Executive branch is the Command tier as to which all Command members have assigned roles within leading these divisions I spoke about earlier on, they're highly qualified officers with years of service and management experience to ensure that these sub-operations are managed to a professional standard. Below them comes the Supervisory Tier to the Sergeants and field specific Detectives, these are also vital to field based operations as without them there wouldn't be field based policing leaders or active cases built against large criminal crime syndicates for example. Then the ranking infrastructure drops to the Non-Commissioned Officers who adopt field based policing duties as a priority whilst also having the ability to work within these key 'sub/specialized' sectors within the LSPD.
  8.
  9. All of these roles are just as vital to ensuring the Los Santos Police Department operationally achieves their operational goals and it ensures the agency remains as a sustainable crime fighting agency. The departmental infrastructure in regards to units and divisions is exactly the same stemming from the top to bottom, for example the Office of Special Operations is the heading for 'Special Operations' it then stems down to 'Bureau's' which are further specialized and categorized to set duties as to which they both have 'Commanders' whom manage the standards of them Bureaus and within them Bureau's there are Divisions of which also have Commanders. All of these divisions have ranking order stemming from top to bottom and a system as to which allows things to be professionally organized and moderated. The reason the organization and management of the agency is vital is because all of these operations are required to ensure the agency is doing its job and is policing for example without the Metropolitan Division there wouldn't be tactically trained officers to handle high-risk situations and that would put officers lives in further danger.
  10.
  11. They all come together as an Officer joins the department as a Law Enforcement Officer which requires organization from the Training & Employment Division and the financing allocated from the Executive Branch and then once they're in they need a Field Training Officer to ensure they're able to carry out their duties whilst learning which requires experienced Field Patrol based officers as to which have relevant time and experience which links back around to the already stated organizations and branches and so on! Basically the infrastructure is very complex but is interlinked very well and it's vital to have otherwise the Los Santos Police Department wouldn't function!
  12.
  13. As to the Officers themselves and their conduct in the field, everything an officer does have to be organized! They follow Protocols & Regulations when they're in the field and so responses to situations and how they handle them has to be organized to a set standard that's enforced and they need to ensure they're organized to handle their duties/responsibilities fully otherwise it could lead to Civilians or Officers being injured as to which explains why organization is so extremely vital Everything within the Law Enforcement Agency has to have a process or procedure and everything does and that's why it's structured and operationally sustainable as to which I've explained is why it's vital for policing to be organized both administratively and in the field of service.
  14.
  15. In the field organization makes us more professional in handling our duties as we're following a set system and we're aware of the issues we potentially may face, being alert and organized makes sure there are minimal slip ups and issues in our policing duties. As I've stated collaborative management and communication is vital from the Commanders to Non-Commissioned LEO's to ensuring the wheel keeps spinning. If that means communicating clearly with your partner whilst doing a routine traffic stop to taking part in a large-scale operation.
  16.
  17. The main conclusion is that police organization isn't just a requirement to ensuring the agency remains sustainable but it's essential to ensuring the agency meets its goals and objectives that cannot be achieved by not having the organizational infrastructure form Patrol to Human Resources.
