- >there was a loud BLOOP!, and bubbles began to fill the space left of Alastor, before a spotlight shone down upon the area, revealing...
- "B-Baxter?!"
- >Stretch couldn't believe his lack-of-eyes. Neither could the others
- >At first glance, Baxter's change of appearance was minimal: he traded his dark gray labcoat for a more fetching purple Norfolk jacket (it's patterns resembling circular metal brushing, making it resemble sequin) with white cuffs (which kinda looked like icing or frosting or whipped cream), with a slightly darker purple pair of pinstripe-pattern pants cuffed at the ankles, with the same white, foam-like rings down there as well >underneath the jacket appeared to be a plain, slightly off-white shirt with a stiff, high collar, and a chocolate brown bowtie wrapped around that like a gift's wrapping ribbon
- >on his feet were a pair of silver-laced Oxford shoes, with white, cream-like stripes made of the same, puffy substance that his cuffs were made of
- >the most jarring difference, however was on his head, or, more specifically, his face, as his literal gray scales where inexplicably turned ocean liner white (with the sort of faded white color you'd get when you imagine a hue becoming physically tired), while his ear-fins were now a sort of bright orange-brown color with black spines, and freckles became dark red and star-shaped
- >his broad, overly wide and tall smile also revealed that he now had more human-looking dentures, apart from the fact that they appear have been color-inverted, being fully black with thin, white lines separating the individual, otherwise immaculate teeth
- >however, the anons got the impression that, had he not been standing in the spotlight, the only way to realize that his mouth wasn't, in fact, empty, was to get uncomfortably close, at which point it would've become evident that the one thing, or rather, things, that remained aquatic about his mouth were his canines, which looked like fucking needles
- Cont.
- -
- >as the fish demon hobbled over to the radio host turned satyr, the boys noticed yet another jarring difference: his gait
- >instead of his usually straitlaced, almost goosestep-like marching, or hunched-forward, fingers-drumming-face-smirking scheming trot, he now ambled forward, arms flailing with a Mickey-Mousing up-and-down bobbing - a crude imitation of a sailor's parade march, done to an inaudible tune that only he could hear
- >well, not quite inaudible:
- >the effect was further enhanced by an inky blob atop his head - which the anons fairly quickly recognized (much to the their horror) to be his hairdo
- >colorful (in the way an oil spill is), with the now-familiar off-white lines striking through it in the same places where the grey lines (fin-spines?) ran through it, turquoise fluorescent spots replaced by gummy candy - the kind with the hardened, crystallized crust
- >really, it looked like someone took a Christmas fruitcake, and hiked up the contrast way too high
- >topping it off was what can best be described as the result of a threesome between a sailor cap, a paper hat, and a paper boat
- >his d'angler sprung out from underneath it, striped like a candy cane, with a bright, red, round, glowing and blinking, Rudolph's-Nose-esque, literal cherry on top
- "A̕h͢h͞h̀h,͜ ̨B̕ax͝t̢er! J̴u͢s̛t thȩ ̕S I ̡N͢ ̧N E̵ R I w̷a̢s l.o̷.̡o͘.k.i.n.ģ. ̴fo̵ŗ!"
- >Alastor smiled sweetly - the only fly in the ointment being his half-lidden, empty eyes
- "Hhh-Hhh-H-h-h-HE-HE-HEhEHEEEY-Y-Y thERRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAalastoroldbuddy!"
- >the four anons cringed, and even Angel Dust seemed to wince when the angler's stuttering speech broke down into an ear-piercing drone
- >Stretch just stood, mortified, with a look of deep sorrow
- "No..."
- >was all he could utter, and John looked at him with pity
- >the two had been good friends, ever since Baxter checked in, following what Stretch called his "Oppenheimer moment"
- Cont.
- -
- >the three now stood, side by side, before the quartet of anons
- >Angel, with a sickeningly sweet, toothy smile, in a pose too effeminate, even for him, shifting his weight from one leg to another
- >Baxter, twitching and glitching, with a stuttering snorting, goofy chortle on his lips, safety goggles now resembling the steampunky headpiece of the Mole from Disney's Atlantis movie, especially as they moved in and out like an old photo camera's lens, revealing his animesquely enlarged pupils and now lime and red striped irises
- >and in the center, Alastor, now split into two equal halves, stuck together: the man and the animal, twirling the giant lolly in his hand
- "WELL, gent͡le͝me̕n͠, ̸no̧w ͢t̸h͝at O Ú R ͜littl͠e trio ͞has a.s.s.̷e.̸m̷.ble̶d, I̕ ̷sáy it i͢s ͞hi̷gh ti̸m̡e ͟we͟ got ǵoing!̀"
- "Yeee.e.e-e-esss, a FANtastic day awaits us, darlings, so weeeeee mustn't-t-t-t dawdawdawdle!"
- >said Angel, stretching himself in odd angles and positions
- "H-hhhh-He-He-Heeeehehehe-he-eh-eh-HA-HAAAha, yessss-ss-ss-ss!"
- >cackled Baxter, body glitching out violently. Alastor smiled, and then nodded towards the anons
- "E X C E ̨L ̴L ̵E N T̀. Well ̡then,͞ my dea͟r gents̸,̷ ͘i̶t is t́im͘e for̨ us to ̢leave̶..."
- >he then smirked, and added, with a wink:
- "Y͟ou ̧have seen ̵E.V.E̢.R.͝Y.́T.̸H.I.͟N̷.̕G.̛"
- >he raised the lollypop above his head, and as Angel joyfully clapped all four of his arms, and Baxter jittered up and down at an increasingly faster rate in excitement, it began to glow, soon enveloping all three in light, before, with a loud CRACK! and sparkles flying everywhere, they disappeared
- >...leaving an even larger soot stain on the ground
- Cont.
- -
- >the four anons stood, slack-jawed once again, as they slowly comprehended what just underwent before their lack-of-eyes
- "Huh..."
- >was all Zagreus could utter
- "I thought they'd be more... Jollier? Hyper?"
- >Chan (who managed to dismiss yet another bout of glitching), was quick to retort
- "Well, I guess that's what happens when you decide to give drugs to someone IN HELL!"
- >him yelling the last two words had snapped the others out of their shock
- "So... What are we going to do?"
- >John asked
- >Chan's mind was racing, but Zagreus was quick to reply
- "We're going to find them!"
- >he said, all too quickly
- "And how do you suppose we do that?!"
- >John snapped
- "We don't even know where they went!"
- "We'll just... Search for them!"
- "Do you have ANY idea how big this city is, Zack?!"
- "...Duh! Kinda..."
- >John could only roll his lack-of-eyes, as the demonic anon thought for a moment
- "Pentagram City. Is. HUGE! It's like you took the entire Bos-NY-Wash region, and turned it into nine concentric circles!"
- "I know that! ...How do you know that?"
- >as John and Zagreus continued to bicker, Chan alternated between rubbing his temples, and the topmost part of the ridge of his nose
- >his migraine was back with vengeance, and it was really starting to make the world look fuzzy
- >seriously, the colors were all... Wrong, just... Overs a t u r a t e d . . .
- "...God, Scum, just SHUT UP!"
- >the other two immediately stopped, partly because he was yelling, and partly, because they thought they saw something on him
- >while John couldn't exactly tell what he saw, Zagreus was fairly certain that their friend briefly turned into a photo negative
- >then out of the blue, Stretch spoke up:
- "Boy, Niffty's gonna flip when she sees that stain..."
- >he then looked around, sounding more focused as he continued:
- "Come to think of it, where is she? She usually springs to action for the smallest spec of dirt."
- >the others glanced around as well
- >surely, Niffty must have...
- >...and she did
- Cont.
- -
- >there, standing in the doorway, accompanied by a slack-jawed Husk, and equally shocked anons, was Niffty, mouth covered by hands, and eyes glistening from... Well, what the boys presumed to be tears of horror and/or grief for Alastor
- >while the other anons (especially Noir) remained dumbfounded, Husk quickly found his voice
- "...What the FUCK did you guys do?!"
- >the four anons just looked at each other, before three of them looked at the fourth
- >Zagreus smiled sheepishly
- >appropriately, upon noticing him and his guilty expression, the other anons soon found their ire rising
- >and just as well, as an explosion - or more like air-quake - rocked the entire building, causing plaster the fall from the ceiling
- >and then there was much screaming, and, hauntingly, laughter outside
- "We can point fingers later!"
- >said Zagreus, just a little too quickly
- "Right now, we got more pressing matters at hand!"
- >Chan and John looked at him, incredulously
- "Man, can you become helpful in a pinch?"
- >snarked the virginal anon, before a gasp diverted everyone's attention again
- >it was Niffty
- "Crumbs, "pinch" is right! Sting is still outside, he left to attend to his "business" this morning, and hadn't come back!"
- >silent and solemn, the anons exchanged looks, while Husk just facepalmed grumbling into his paw
- >John just sighed, and watched alongside Stretch, as explosions of color shook the skies outside
- >this was going to be a long day
- Cont.
- -
- >outside, above the city, Charlie flew, doing aerial rolls and loops, cackling gleefully along the way, holding Vaggie between her arms, and close to her chest
- >the pastel goth had her hands extended like wings, her face lit up by a bright smile
- >suddenly, Charlie stopped, and released her
- >as they floated beside one another, still giggling from the thrill of the flight
- >but, as they calmed down, Vaggie seemed worried, once more
- "...what now...?"
- >Charlie beamed
- "Nononononooooow-w-w-w? Now we do ANYTHING we want, Vaggie! Th-Th-The world is our clam-oyster-thingy! BuuUUUUuut I know what I w a n t !"
- >she then hugged her, and began to spin around mid-air
- "I want to bring sUnShInE aNd RaInBoWs and~and~and~ananandanandnand PUPPIES to aaall of-allof H~H~É͞ ̕͢͠L̀͞ ̶̸̶L̷̨̛! That way, they won'T be able to RE-SIST redemption-ionnnn!"
- >Vaggie smiled
- "...that sounds like fun..."
- >her smile grew wider
- "...i'd like to do that, too..."
- >Charlie could only squee with joy
- "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE that's the-at's the SPIRIT, Vaggie! Now c'mc'mc'mON, let'ssss have somesumsumsusmsmsm-m-m-m-m FUN!"
- >and she hugged her girlfriend close, before bolting off, no specific destination in mind
- >with a heart fulla song, mind fulla sugar, and arms fulla Vaggie, she could hear a song - their song - play all over Pentagram City, cheering them on:
- (sorry for the weebshit, guys, but this is the most fitting song I could find)
