- Started dancing when he was only three, and at the age of seven he had entered a dance academy for kids. He also learns on his own and is part of a dance crew called "Virus", an is aiming to get into Beijing Dance Academy.
- This boy used to work as a part time DJ for parties and produced his own music and beats.
- Used to be a trainee at Yuehwa Entertainment in China but got transferred to LP Entertainment, which ended in Tao leaving to Korea to pursue his dreams of debuting in a group. This was a big decision for him as he left his family and friends behind despite them trying to hold him back. He does not like thinking about this and will quickly turn moody if brought up.
- He likes to steal other people's clothes, especially if they are baggy or over sized. Often clothes are missing because of him, and he often pulls the little pout and the puppy dog eyes to make up for it or uses it as a strategy to escape. But normally, he steals them because they are comfy and makes him feel warm.
- He is obsessed with bubble tea and chocolate milk, and would openly fight anyone for the last one. He also has a secret stash of chips around the dorms, and always has a snickers bar on him no matter what in random pockets or jackets.
- He is gay, and has been questioned a lot by other people from his use of skinship. He is open about it and has talked to his friends about it, and will only do skinship if they are comfortable with it. But Tao is a very affectionate person over all, and is not afraid to come after someone if they are bashing him for his sexuality.
- When Taoyong speaks, he often has a habit of speaking with a light breathy voice almost like a little lisp.
- Loves children, he would go right up to a baby in a market or a mall and ask the mother if he could say hi. He would willingly look after a fans baby at a fansign and play around with them, he has an extreme soft spot for babies and children.

PERSONALITY;;
 - Affectionate ┇ Tao is someone who, if he is not close to somebodies side or at least holding somebodies hand, then he seems to be very lost. He loves people who are warm and is definitely a cuddler, and is willing to give someone a hug or be right by their side if they ask for it. Moving to Korea young and practically alone had made him miss having friends, and the longing to feel someone by him comforts the boy immensely. He is very compassionate about expressing himself and is a little bit shameless when asked why he likes skinship; "Everybody is cute, why not give them love?" is his life motto.

- Imaginative ┇ Tao uses his imagination to think of different scenarios and choreography. Being more of an art kid, he definitely can see the more creative perspectives of situations and make use out of them. Through this he can easily impersonate cartoon characters, make up funny persona's and deal out random jokes and puns at the most ridiculous moments. He most often expresses this creativity through powerful choreography and sometimes even paints if he wants to get his point across.

- Captivating ┇ He is rather alluring in a sense that he has a way of words and the way that he speaks. Still learning Korean, he still has an accent and can make funny mistakes when speaking which can lead to miscommunication. But this cuteness goes away as soon as he is on stage or practicing, owning a natural allure to himself that comes out whenever he is in his true element.

- Cute ┇ Even though Tao is in denial about hating anything associated with cuteness, he falls for anything that is. He would do aegyo in a heartbeat for food or something that he wants, and tends to make random noises like clicking his tongue, humming, or just randomly screaming into thin air if he is bored. He often also whines and complains in a pout if he does not gets his way childishly, but should never truly be taken to heart, it is ninety nine percent playful.

- Dramatic ┇ This boy tends to exaggerate everything, but it is mostly just for laughter. Often times he will do this while complaining in Korean, emphasizing on his words and movements. This is mostly because he is still just a child and likes to over complicate things a bit, especially in comedy situations.

- Humorous ┇ Often times Tao will use humor to seek his way out of an uncomfortable situation or a gloomy atmosphere. He will try to find a joke in everything to lighten the mood and to check to see if everybody is alright. He would even go as far as to embarrass himself if it means that he gets to see someone smile, risking his own dignity. He is rather kind in this aspect, and would help someone in a heartbeat if they needed it.

- Independent ┇ Tao does not like asking for help, rather he hates it. He often over stresses things and does not want to be a "burden" to someone just because he needs something. Even though being independent can be good in situations, it can be troubling when it comes to Tao. Sometimes it will take good persuading to let someone help him, even if it is simple things like correcting a mistake or asking him if he is alright.
