  2.
  3. Please send your filled out copy of this form to wheatslices@gmail.com
  4. Please make the subject of the email as the following format. [Current Position] → [Applying Position] [NAME]
  5.
  6. Agreement
  7. *This Is Lengthy, Dedication Required*
  8. This application needs to be taken 100% seriously. You also are committing to a multitude of hours a week of server administration time. If you have received this form you have been personally chosen, and trusted to apply for an administrative position.
  9. Do you accept the upcoming task? I accept the task and understand fully the dedication required.
  10.
  11. Basic Information
  12. >Steam Name: Mikhail
  13. >Steam ID: STEAM_1:0:105089685
  14. >What Position Are You Applying For? I am applying for Server Manager (primarily) however I absolutely understand the necessary procedure of going through the ranks to get to the top. I will be more than happy to start as a trial, go through a training process, and earn my rank like anyone else.
  15. >Age (This does not affect the acceptance process) 20 years old, as of June 30th.
  16. >How long have you been a part of Frequency 9? I have been apart of the community since the beginning. I've known the staff team since before the community was founded, and have been around them for about 5 or 6 years as of this moment.
  17. >Are you currently a staff member of Frequency 9, if so, for how long? I am not a current staff member, however, I was given a staff rank upon the start of the server, and have been off and on the team over the course of the past few months.
  18. >Are you currently a staff member of any other communities? I am not a staff member for any other communities, and will not be applying for any other communities until I receive feedback from the leadership regarding this application.
  19. >Past administrative experience?

  26. Situational Responses
  27. >If someone is spamming in OOC, yelling at admins, and flaming other players, what do you do? Given the context as it is written here, it sounds to me as if it is excessive. In this instance, a warning would likely have already been given and further action must be taken. In this instance, the best possible choice of action would be to kick them from the server, and if they return, warn them immediately of what they had done, and ensure that they know the consequences of further actions.
  28. >If a player's car is stuck and they send in a report, what do you do? I will first make sure I mark that I am responding to the report in admin chat. I will already be invisible, and can teleport to them without interrupting role-play, therefore I will do so and observe the area. If I can safely determine I will not be interfering with role-play, I will be more than happy to move the car, if it is stuck in a position that can be towed by a maintenance worker, or if it is not disabled in a legitimate accident.
  29. >If there is a supposed hacker on the server, what do you do? The first thing I would do is ensure I am flagged up and completely invisible, by using the ev_menu (at the current moment, this is what must be done). I would begin by screen spectating the player, and spectating them to see the 3rd person view, and outlines of nearby players to make sure they are not using any sort of aim assist, or vision assistance. I will be making sure that I provide sufficient reasoning for my determination, should I find them in violation. If I do not see anything that is evident of a cheating script, I will be sure to keep an eye on them occasionally over the next few days, to ensure that it was not just a false report, and there could be a chance of cheating still.
  30. >If there is a DDOS threat towards the server, how do you respond? A serious DDoS threat is to be taken very seriously, and is zero tolerance. Any player, regardless of rank, status, or any other form of social standing who makes a threat to DDoS the server will be permanently banned and referred to the forums if they need to make an appeal. Threats against the server are unacceptable and create a situation which will only end in chaos and drama, and that is an environment that cannot go unpunished. Certainly, the player may be unbanned if the proper appeal procedure is followed, as it is understandable to be upset on occasion, however legitimate threats such as a DDoS will be taken seriously and immediately reported to the leadership of the server. No exceptions should be made regarding a legitimate threat against the community, regardless of who it is.
  31. >If you break a rule in a roleplay situation, what do you do? There is absolutely no reason as to why I should be breaking a server rule while in a roleplay situation. Admins are expected to know the rules, and know that ignorance of a rule is no excuse to break them. Any admin who breaks a rule in roleplay is subject to losing their permissions, as being staff is not a right, it is a privilege that can be revoked at any point.
  32. >If you are in the middle of roleplay situation and a report comes in, but you are the only admin on the server what do you do? I would do everything in my power as a roleplayer to hurry the situation up, to at least a point where I can safely exit the scenario to deal with the report. In OOC, I would make a mention to the player that if they can wait for a few moments, I am more than happy to get with them, however I am busy with a role-play scenario and cannot ignore the player like that, trying to RP with me. If necessary, I will return to the RP scenario after I have finished the report, should it be something like me being arrested, I can wait until in jail, notify the officer via local OOC, ensure that they are understanding of this, and make sure they know I will return, and then I will deal with the report, then return immediately to jail and flag down to continue RP.
  33. >If someone breaks a rule in front of you while you are in a roleplay situation, how do you deal with them? Admins are not under any circumstances to take their own sits, and it is unacceptable for an admin to interfere with an ongoing RP situation to micromanage and babysit a player who broke a rule. The proper procedure for this should be to make a report using /report and provide the details to another admin, who will then handle the report themselves, as they were not involved.
  34. >A User RDM's Someone, and is claiming he didn't do it. Logs prove otherwise, how do you move forward in the sit? I will be sure to provide the logs in a local chat to the player and describe to the player exactly how I know that he is lying, and that it was RDM. If the player insists that it was not RDM, I will refuse to argue with him about it and suggest that he make a report on the forums, using the appropriate protocol for the situation. If any admin makes a decision that a player does not agree with, they are encouraged to visit the forums and make a report on it, either an abuse report or a ban request.
  35. >Your Peer, an admin is abusing his powers. How do you act? Admin abuse is to be strictly zero tolerance. If I am an active, flagged up admin at the time and I witness another admin abusing his powers, I will be 100% sure to let them know that they are to leave the server immediately, and that they are going to be reported to a superior, either leadership or a server manager who may then take appropriate action and investigate the situation. Admins are not above the rules, and are expected to adhere to much more strict regulations regarding the conduct on the server, and any time an admin is found to be in the wrong and another staff member asks them to leave the server, they are to do so and handle it at a later time. Should the admin who asked the other staff member to leave be found in the wrong, the situation will be handled appropriately and punishments will be given as deserved and deemed necessary by higher ranked staff members entrusted with the authority to preside over the staff team.
  36.
  37. >What do you do if someone is abusing their V.I.P. privileges? Giving your personal money to the server is not considered a valid excuse to abuse the permissions given to you. If a player is using the physics gun in an inappropriate manner, they will be issued a warning straight off the bat, and kicked from the server. VIP abuse is not tolerated as it is extremely disruptive to the server's playability and can even result in a server crash. The VIP privileges are not a right, just because you paid money. They can be taken away, should a player abuse them. Should the VIP abuse their powers again after the initial warning and kick from the server (only to have them relog and to make them reset their life and start from scratch, essentially as a deterrent for the next time they do something of that nature), they can be issued a ban and will be reported to a higher rank where it can be investigated and determined whether or not they are deserving of the VIP abilities.
  38. >If someone breaks NLR and performs a successful raid, how do you deal with that situation? The players who broke NLR will be expected to return whatever they gained in the raid to the players and will be kicked from the server immediately upon the return of the items. Breaking a rule in order to raid is not tolerated and ruins the enjoyment of the players being raided. If you die during a raid, and you break NLR to return, you are clearly violating a rule that you should be aware of and are accepting responsibility for whatever action is taken against you. Rules are to ensure that all players have a fair ground to roleplay on, where there are no unfair advantages as for one side or the other, and the end result of situations should come down to the ability and skill of a player, and not which rules were broken to gain an unfair 1-up on the other players.
  39. >What do you do in an 'asspull' situation? I am going to need a legitimate witness statement from an unbiased player who saw it, or I will need to see recordings, as asspull can be very often only a "he said, she said" issue, and in that case, it is considered unfair to both players to just accept the word of one player over another without any other proof aside from "he was there, so it's asspull." and "You were not, it was over there and that's clearly a lie." If there is no straight answer, I need proof to determine whether or not it was asspull, as this is entirely based on case-by-case scenario and varies drastically.
  40. >What do you do if you're basing and a report comes in? (You're the only active admin) I will not be basing while flagged up, and of course, if I am the only admin who is active on the server, I would have to wait until my drugs grow, or I'd have to shut everything down completely. In all fairness, if someone were to run a raid on me while I take a report, I'd not be losing anything and nothing would be effected, and it would be treated in RP similarly to a "I just wasn't home" sort of thing, and the player won't be bothered or otherwise know anything was going on. If not involved in an active raid, there should be no reason why I cannot flag up and take a report, being the only active admin online, so long as I do not interfere with anyone's attempt to roleplay with me.
  41. >If your superior tells you to do something you don't agree with what do you do? I will absolutely do it anyway, as there is a reason they are ranked above me. They have been trusted with a rank by a member of staff who is sure they are able to perform their duties, and it is not my place to tell my supervisor what he can and can't tell me to do. If I have a problem with it, I can discuss privately with a member of staff with the permissions to investigate and take appropriate action regarding the issue between players. Staff are NEVER to argue with each other, under any circumstances, and they are to trust one another. If staff cannot work as a team, then they shouldn't work at all.
  42.
  43. Admin Responses/Abuse Questionnaire
  44. If the response is 'no', please list a reason as to why.
  45. >Can you noclip to your car because it is convenient? Absolutely not, because this is considered an unfair advantage over players without no-clip and is abusing the privileges of administrator ranks. This is under no circumstances tolerated.
  46. >Can you use your admin menu to respawn yourself if you were killed during an admin sit? You absolutely can do this, if returning to the admin sit. However, it is also worth mentioning that you shouldn't be killed during an admin sit if you are doing your job properly, and you should be in god mode through ev_menu and invincible.
  47. >Can you move your car out of a ditch it was stuck in? You may not use your physics gun's admin abilities in a way that is useful to your RP situation. You are expected to play as a normal player, with regular permissions when you are in roleplay scenarios. Abusing permissions given as an admin is not tolerated.
  48. >Can you use your admin powers if you're not flagged up? You absolutely may not use any powers while not flagged up, as this is very unprofessional and will require action to be taken.
  49. >Can you take your own admin sits if you there are no other admins on the server? You absolutely may not, as this creates an unfair bias to the players. The best course of action is to log down the incident and gather any proof you can to make a report to an admin at a later time.
  50. >What do you do before teleporting someone to an admin situation they are involved in? Admins are expected to teleport to a player to ensure they are not in an active RP scenario, and they are to ask if it is acceptable to take them to an admin sit. This allows for RP to proceed and not be interrupted by rules being broken, as the broken rules already interrupted proper RP enough as it is.
  51. >What is the godstick and when should you use it? The god stick is the tool given to all staff members, and it contains many different tools that are to be used for a wide variety of scenarios, from kicking a player, making a server announcement, fixing a car, removing a prop, gathering playtime, money and item owners, and many more things. The godstick is also used to flag up as a member of staff, and is the only way to currently distinguish yourself as an active admin.
  52. >When you're going on duty, what are the procedures you should take? The only acceptable procedure to go on active admin duty is to Ghost, Godmode, Disguise. Do not disguise yourself or remove your disguise to flag up until god mode and ghosted, as this can create an issue with players trying to roleplay with you when you need to take a sit.
  53. >If you have a question regarding the rules who should you ask?
  54. >If you have a question regarding a punishment who should you ask?
  55. >Can you spawn in items to compensate lost guns/ammo because someone broke the rules? Why, or why not? You may not spawn the items, as currently there is no power for regular admins to do this. If you are given the ability to perform this task, you are allowed to compensate a player if sufficient evidence is given in the situation to be able to determine exactly what was lost, and how much to refund the player. If items were lost unfairly in a situation where rules were broken, it is up to the leadership or server manager to determine whether or not it would be appropriate to refund the player for their loss.
  56. >When going on duty should you be in TeamSpeak, Discord, or Both? You should be on both if possible, however it is required to be in the Teamspeak server in an unlocked channel where you can be contacted at any point if you are needed.
  57.
  58. Enforcement Of Punishments
  59. >Which of the following is the first resort when enforcing a punishment for a minor offense? (Kick, Ban, Other) For any minor offenses, the first resort is always to be a warning, either in OOC or in voice chat to the player. It should be clear that they understand the warning has been given to them and further action can be taken if the issue persists.
  60. >Which of the following is the first resort when enforcing a punishment for a major offense? [Not Hacking] (Other, Kick, Ban) For a major offense, depending on the offense it is either going to be a kick or a ban for a small period of time. For any offense, other than hacking, a ban should be a last resort, as kicking from the server is considered to be a huge enough inconvenience and players who are kicked are expected to understand why and that if they are to continue to behave in the same manner, they will be banned. Bans are not to be handed out like candy on Halloween, and are to be only used when all other options have been expended and the player simply refuses to follow the rules.
  61. >How should you come to a conclusion when enforcing a 3rd time RDM offense? The same way you would come to a conclusion about the first and second time an RDM has occurred. Enough sufficient evidence must be given and must be available for you to determine the situation, regardless of what evidence, there must be some form of evidence (unbiased statement from witness, server logs, damage logs, video proof, screenshots, etc.) However, for a third time RDM offense, it is most likely going to end up in a ban for about 12-24 hours, depending on the demeanor of the player in question and how the admin sit is handled. After 3 RDM incidents and being found guilty for all of them, it appears pretty clear the player cannot learn from previous mistakes and more action must be taken.
  62. >If you accidentally ban someone for the wrong amount of time what do you do? It is the best procedure to report it to a higher up and use the admin panel to reduce the ban time. If you do not have enough privilege to view the panel, you should report to someone who has the power and ask them to reduce or increase ban time. Staff must always work together.
  63. >Which of the following is our enforcement Baseline? I am of the belief that the best way to enforce the rules is to Teach, Warn, Kick, Kick, and then Ban. However this can vary severely depending on the situation and I find it rather inefficient when dealing with certain situations, for instance cheating scripts. Obviously, we are not going to follow that protocol, so for most offenses I find a punishment procedure like that is sufficient, however may not always be the most applicable.
  64. (Teach, Warn, Kick, Kick, Ban) (Warn, Kick, Kick, Ban), (Kick, Ban), (Warn, Kick) (Teach, Kick, Ban)
  65.
  66. Your Feedback
  67. >What are the qualities of a good admin? The qualities of a good admin are to exhibit professionalism and understanding. The role of an admin is to be a role model, not just to the players but to other members of staff as well. The admins are to enforce the server rules and ensure that all players are given a fair playing field.
  68. >Do you feel like you understand your role, and how to handle situations correctly? I absolutely feel as though I understand my role and can handle any situation appropriately, however should I be found in the wrong, I would accept criticism and make an attempt to better myself, as no admin can be perfect and mistakes will be made. It is the ability to learn from those mistakes and better yourself that allows for a proper staff team.
  69. >Who was your Field Training Officer? I was never trained, actually. I asked to be trained, but never was trained. I was also given the role of an FTO without being trained myself, so...that's how it all went down.
  70. >If you're a current administrator do you feel your FTO trained you to the best of their ability and that you understand your role in the community, and when/how to use your powers? N/A as I am not a staff member, nor was I ever trained. However I am willing to go through a training procedure.
  71. >Who are the ideal staff members on your team if you were a server manager? List your reasoning below. *Confidential*
  72. As a server manager, it would be my belief that a staff team should always be quality over quantity. Unfortunately, in regards to the current staff team, I cannot say I would keep very many of them. It is sad to say but unfortunately, they are very lacking in ability. If this is due to improper training or not enough education on how to do their job, that is understandable and that can be managed. I can have them properly instructed and mentored to become better staff members.
  73.
  74. That said, my staff team would consist of, in all honesty, the leaders Wheaty, Tappily and of course Jamie. I'd have Sicarius as my head admin, responsible for handling the FTOs, and being the highest ranking superior admin on the server, to be there for all the admins when needed, and to provide assistance to them when they are in need of some help. Sicarius has demonstrated his ability to perform the duties as staff very well, and I feel as though he would be a very valuable right hand man, so to speak.
  75. For my FTOs, I cannot honestly say that I know of anyone who would be a perfect fit for FTO, aside from Turbo and if the change has been made, I'd put Kuda as an FTO. He was a perfect SM on VG and if he can repeat that, he'd be a more than valuable asset to the team.
  76. I'd have Mike, if he can remain active and perform his duty to the team. I'd put Mark as a regular admin as I do not see a very huge deal of professionalism from him, and I'd put CVey as a regular admin, and possibly an FTO if he can remain professional enough. It is unfortunate that most of the staff team cannot be professional, but in my honest opinion, given what I have seen, it seems that there is a lack of training and a lack of respect being shown to the players, and I cannot honestly say for certain that I'd hire anyone to staff other than Sicarius and Kuda (ONLY IF HE REMAINS PROFESSIONAL, AS HE WAS AS SERVER MANAGER ON VG)...Mark and CVey, although they are personally not my favorite staff members, are long running members of this community and are capable of doing better, but they require a bit more professionalism to be shown before I feel comfortable with them being on the team. However, I'd be willing to give them a shot, as they are more than old enough to know better.
  77. >How do you feel we can improve our staff team, work ethic, and overall server etiquette/appeal? Absolutely, 100% everything that was just listed. The server staff need to show trust and respect for one another, they must work together, and if they need help, ask for it. It is not a difficult job when the staff team remain on the same page and work together. Under proper leadership this should not be an issue.
  78. >Do you enjoy being a part of this community with a staff position? I absolutely love being a staff member here and I'd enjoy very much having the responsibility of SM, that I have always dreamed of having. However, I am more than understanding that I am expected to be professional, and that is not a concept that is lost on me. I am more than capable of performing the duties of SM, and I am more than willing to work my way up to that position if necessary.
  79.
  80. Is there anything else you'd like to say? Considering it is already past 7 o clock, and I respect the leadership's time, I feel as though I have said more than plenty already and anything I have to add here is just redundant.
