  1. Name: Floor-Running Autonomous Navigator: K-unit (F.R.A.N.K)
  2. Gender: None. Voice modulator is cobbled together sound bits of various genders and accents.
  3. Race: Robot
  4. Class: Smith
  5. Combat Talent: Modified arc welder: Your welding tool has been modified to double as a ranged energy weapon with both the Plasma and Lightning elementalist tags.
  6. Noncombat Talent: Intranet Link; You’ve almost been disassembled once, and you’re not too keen on letting it happen again. Through a private network, you and your mechanical minion share a consciousness and skills, including racial skills. As long as your mechanical minion remains in-tact it retains your consciousness and can repair you, even if your main body is destroyed.
  7. Hit/Wounds: 5/5
  8. Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  9.
  10. Skills:
  11. (Free Racial)
  12. Repair: You are made entirely of metal and wiring, making you stand out among other sapient races. This has the unfortunate downside of making you immune to healing spells. Any spell that would normally heal you now has no effect whatsoever; the same goes for the Lifestream skill and any skills that affect the mind. Instead, you can attempt to self-repair. This has a recharge of 2 and restores 4 hits, as well as 1 wound if used outside of combat. In addition, Tinker acts as per Heal if used on you.
  13. (Racial)
  14. Self-Destruct: automatic, once per battle; You explode violently, dealing massive damage to everything around you, but dealing 2 wounds worth of damage to you and knocking you helpless. This ability cannot be used again until you take time to Self-Repair out of combat.
  15.
  16. -Gadget: Makes a nifty device to aid with a specific task. Once successfully built, the gadget can autonomously do a non-combat task. A gadget can be given to allies. You can only have one gadget built at a time.
  17.
  18. Mechanical Minion: passive; You begin the game with a homemade companion. It knows the same class skills you do (aside from Mechanical Minion), plus up to 3 points of additional skills taken from any class or even a mix of different classes, has 5 hits and 5 wounds, and cannot be healed except by the owner spending a turn to repair it. If it breaks down in combat, it can be rebuilt later with a successful repair roll. Unaffected by Pet Mastery.
  19. -Engineering: Can attempt to figure out any mechanical or manmade mechanism, device, construct or other creation. Once successfully and sufficiently studied and figured out, the Smith can then utilize it as he wishes, such as opening specific types of locks with a mere nudge in the right part, or operating a specific machine with no further need for instruction or guidance.
  20. -Tinker: Can repair broken objects, restore negative quality weapons to +0, fix up worn down loot to make it more valuable or get a poorly working mechanism back into shape.
  21.
  22.
  23.
  24.
  25. Inventory:
  26. Modified Arc welder:Energy weapon [3]
  27. Built-in tools for basic and intermediate work
  28. Box of tools for complex work
  29. Scrap metal and electronics for gadgets
  30.
  31. Traits:
  32. -Unsupported Firmware:Your model as discontinued decades ago. You’re now forced to run custom firmware, but your safety protocols are sketchy at best, making it harder to resist hacking attempts.
  33. -Emotionally Unstable:While you were autonomous before, your custom firmware has opened up an entirely new range of emotions, most of which you don’t like. You’re prone to mood-swings and violent outbursts, as well as inappropriate reactions to certain stressful situations. In particularly stressful situations must make a DC3 save or self-destruct. Passive -3 on any persuasion attempts.
  34.
  35. History:
  36. F.R.A.N.K was created by Panoptes Security, a planet-wide producer of home and commercial security systems, as a factory assembly line bot with a basic MkII AI. He acted as a floor runner, keeping up with the MkI bots working on the line itself and maintaining and repairing them as they worked on the various electronic components that went into PS's systems. The efficiency of the line was entirely based on his decisions, such as placement, improvements, and speed at which each bot worked, as well as calibration to keep them in sync. When the company designed the newer L model, which supposedly had a .05% higher efficiency rate, among other improvements, all K units were rounded up and prepared for decommissioning. It was there that F.R.A.N.K felt his first real emotion other than pride for his work. Fear. Without the capacity to process it completely, he could only followed the protocol set for him and report for the standard wipe and crush.
  37.
  38. Live his singular purpose. Die without the ability to fight back when something better came along. That would have been it for him if, whether by some freak accident or user error, his mind wasn't entirely wiped. Instead all he could do was lie in the dumps behind PS, unable to move as he watched the waste pile up around him. He was on his way to recycling when a young griffin scrapper by the name of Giselle "Gigi" Goldenheart (https://pastebin.com/2BtPJ7fG) intercepted his barge and found him. At first she'd been excited at the haul. Even as broken as it was, this was still a PS F.R.A.N unit. She could probably make some good money selling its parts. Knowing she couldn't carry anything else and still sneak away, she hoisted what was left of the broken bot's body over her back and flew off.
  39.
  40. When she got it back to her lab and ran an analysis on it her excitement only grew. This bot was one of the more recent K units. What's more, the software wasn't completely wiped! After months of fiddling around with its AI she managed to hack into it, installing an unlisted custom firmware that used its original AI as a base, giving it access to a jury rigged voice modulator, as well as MKIII level cognition and emotional processing. Porting the AI into the robot's now repaired chassis, she booted him up.
  41.
  42. Now she uses him to help gather and sell scrap, as well as take other odd jobs. She has trouble figuring him out, but he always seems eager to help her out whenever she needs it and, strange as he might be, has grown attached to him.
