  1. The Candorian Star Cluster is an astrological anomaly located off a spur on the Corellian Run. The dense star cluster is mostly unnavigable and uninhabitable, and worthless. The exception is a pocket of 40 or so habitable systems. They are accessible only through a narrow hyperspace corridor leading to the world of Ela Zaar. Supporting both native sentient life as well as numerous later groups of settlers, the Cluster is a microcosm of the galaxy at large. Mostly isolated, it possesses its own unique cultures, language, slang, and history.

  3. Human settlers colonize the cluster during the time of the Old Republic, setting the sector's capital on the world of Candoria. Eventually they came into conflict with the militant reptilian race known as the Isthriss as well as the near-human Naruvians. A series of wars were fought throughout ancient history, primarily between Human settlers containing Isthrissian expansion and Naruvian ambition to be the dominant world in the cluster.
  4.
  5. For Naru this culminated in disaster when during one major war, the ecology of the world was damaged beyond repair. Enveloped in a nuclear winter, its atmosphere tainted, generations suffered and died in this new hell. Eventually the population persevered and recovered, adapting to this new climate. As a result of these adaptations Naruvians are addicted to a noxious cocktail of pollutants found only in their native atmosphere. To stay healthy on other worlds they need to partake of "Chems" frequently in the form of inhalers.
  6.
  7. This cataclysmic event built generations of resentment and bitterness in Naru, and territorial ambitions in the Isthrissian Empire ensured both factions were ready and willing to join when the Confederacy of Independent Systems was formed. This was their chance to "right the wrongs" of the past.
  8.
  9. The Clone Wars in the Cluster were especially brutal. Massive underground factories on the Isthrissian world of Huntress and manufacturing plants on Naru churned out millions of battle droids while their dockyards pumped out warships. Republic forces, primarily made up of civilian volunteers and conscripts managed to ultimately turn the tide and drive these aggressors back to their home systems. The consequences for the CIS forces in the Cluster were catastrophic. Naru was cut down to size with stiff financial reparation payments leveraged on them and their industrial capacity taken off world for Imperial use.
  10.
  11. The Isthrissians suffered worse. Unwilling to surrender, their capital world was rendered lifeless by intense orbital bombardment by the Imperial fleet. Their Emperor was killed, along with nearly their entire ruling elite. The Empire ceased to be, leaving only a pair of worlds now under intense Imperial occupation.
  12.
  13. During this time, Aldon Tyrna, an Imperial Minister, masterminded a new approach to ensuring peace and prosperity, namely the use of forced labor from the non-human members of the CIS. This policy when applied to the Isthrissians has resulted in a massive increase in productivity for the region. Likewise, members of the Tyrna family was instrumental in pacifying the sector. As such, by Imperial decree, the capital world of Candoria was renamed to Tyrna, though it is often informally referred to as "Old Candoria".
  14.
  15. The integration from Republic to Empire has been a bumpy one in the Cluster and it isn't without its dissenters. There have been anti-Imperial uprisings on both Naru and Pothis, as well as other smaller, localized problems.
