  1. Your name is Anon, You are a man in your mid 20s of average build living on your own by yourself. Life for you is fairly normal, your routine in an average day is waking up, going to work and coming home to relax. On your off days you tend to laze about, not wanting to expend too much energy. Your work schedule itself is fairly standard; go to work in the afternoon, get home late around 9pm or so. Coming home one night to your apartment, you feel something is off. Things are neatly put away and messes that existed prior to leaving for work are now all absent from where they should be. Your brow furrows as you scan the room for signs of a break in, but you find nothing, not even missing items. Digging into your pockets you dig out your key chain and hold it as to make each key on the ring poke out from between your fingers, making a make-shift spiked knuckle to ward off any would be attacker still inside. While the main area of your apartment is well lit, there are rooms like the kitchen and the bedroom that have their lights off, causing you a bit of concern as anyone still inside would likely be hiding in those darkened rooms.
  2.
  3. You decide to make a sweep, hugging the wall left of the door and turning towards the kitchen, one of the closest and least pitch black room. With your right fist clenched holding the keys, you use your left hand to flip the light switch that lays just to the right of the door fram leading into the kitchen. With the lights on you find more evidence of the strange intrusion; dirty dishes absent from the sink and the counters seem to recently have been wiped down. You Turn around, your back still to the wall to minimize chances of a potential attack from behind. Approaching the bathroom you again repeat your movements, however the now lighted bathroom is as the kitchen, clear and recently cleaned up. Towels hung neatly, and your shaving razor missing from it's usual location of right on the sink's lip. Your mind races as you prepare to inspect the bedroom, continuing on your clockwise sweep of the apartment. Part of your mind calls out to you to grab the phone and head outside or to run and get help, however this is your domain and you stand firm in your decision that no one shall violate the sanctity of your home.
  4.
  5. As you approach the entrance to your bedroom, that's when you hear it. A faint sound, someone is in there...humming happily? You're confused, but logic it away as the burglar being proud of his catch. Your mind stops as you being to process the word 'him', the voice sounds more feminine than masculine to you, more specifically that of a young woman's. You freeze before the doorframe, careful as to not cast a shadow in the light that streaks through the opened doorway. You run the scenario through your mind, the light will go on, you will scream as to surprise the attack and then subdue them with force if need be. You run this through your mind multiple times, psyching yourself up with each pass over of the plan. Your pupils dilate as your body moves in one swift motion, the light switch flipping on as you emit the most fearsome bestial roar you can muster. The intruder, with their back to you seems to jump adrenaline surges you forward, your body having chosen the 'fight' response to this situation. Your lunge however is halted as you finally see your attacker, it's a young woman, but something is...off about her.
  6.
  7. The first thing you notice about the intruder standing in front of you is that her outfit seems to be that of a maid's. However it seems to ebb and flow, as if the fabric itself is alive. Stranger still as you look at her outfit you notice in various spots the white parts of the outfit seem to open up, revealing small glowing yellow lights...You shake your head, those are not lights, they seem to be watching you, they behave more like eyes than lights. You kid yourself that the suit is alive, continuing to size up the intruder. Her skin seems to be a light purple, or is that your tired eyes? You shake your head, blinking and trying hard to refocus your vision, her skin is definitely purple and her hair just seems to be a darker shade of it. As you look at her hair, it's short and neat looking, but like the dress she wears seems to bear the same 'living' quality. As you meet her gaze, you come to the realization that the yellow orbs around her body are in fact eyes, or at least smaller versions of the two main ones on her face. Your mind seems to piece together that despite the extra eyes that seem to dot her she looks rather human.
  8.
  9. The creature in front of you opens it's mouth, you brace for whatever unearthly thing that may issue forth from it's mouth. However, the only thing that issues from it is a rather pleasant and cheery voice.
  10.
  11. "Ahh! You must be Anon! I have something for you...I just...need to find it". The creature says, patting herself down as if looking for something before her hand disappears into a pocket...no until her hand disappears into her dress ITSELF.
  12.
  13. You stand paralyzed, your mind racing wondering what to do. Fear grips you, preventing you from moving. You reason you could lock the creature in your room and wait till authorities arrive. However you quickly strike it down, whatever this creature is she...IT, was able to get into your apartment without even need to unlock the door. Your mind continues it's stampede, quickly bring up and shooting down each and every plan you concoct. The creature makes a noise, snapping your attention back in time to see her pulling something out, you prepare for the worst.
  14.
  15. "I was told to hand this to you Anon!" The creature says cheerily, looking down you see in her hands rests a plain envelope. It's nothing but a letter, or at least you hope it's just that.
  16.
  17. You carefully stretch out your arm, fearful of being grasped by the monster in front of you. As you grasp the envelope with the tip of your fingers you quickly pull back your hand, nothing happens. Perplexed you look over the envelope, it's what it looked like, a plain letter. Carefully you tear the envelope open, ignoring what appeared to be what could be best described as that symbol font you've seen on computers, but with the symbols slightly melted and stretched. Removing the letter from the envelope you unfold it, it's contents are written in plain English unlike the strange symbols on the envelope itself. Your eyes do a quick once over before you begin to read the note inside your head.
  18.
  19. "Hiya Anon! If you got this letter, well that's just great kid, just dandy! I can only imagine the shock going through your mind not only reading this message, but seeing who delivered it! Ha, humans are so easy to scare, it's sometimes not much of a challenge."
  20. "Anyways, the lady in front of you is a Shoggoth, she's named Cassandra...Now I know what you're probably gonna think 'IS this a bad dream?' 'Am I hallucinating?' 'Is that thing in front of me going to eat me?' 'Hell is it even human?'"
  21. "The answer to these questions is a big N O across the board kid, now before you say anything, there really is no way out of this. You drew the short straw in the cosmic lottery and have been chosen to 'field test' our second attempt at making a Shoggoth. Trust me, she may look scary but she's a sweet girl really!"
  22. "Right running out of space on this blasted paper and the envelope I was given isn't that large, shoulda asked for a manila envelope and just enclosed a bunch of documentation...Not like you'd understand any of it though kid, human minds seem to really strain when lots of info is dumped on them."
  23. "So to keep this letter short and simple: Anon, meet your new wife."
  24.
  25. You laugh as you finish the letter. This has to be a joke you think to yourself, an elaborate ruse. Your attention returns to the thing the letter called a 'Shoggoth', your eyes looking over Cassandra. As your gaze returns to her you notice part of her face seems to darken, is she blushing? is that thing even capable of such a thing? You take a step closer, your heart racing as you approach the creature with caution in every step. As you now stand within arms length of the creature you reach out, slowly reaching out towards it. Your hand seems to stop, the creature, contrary to your prior convictions is mostly solid in nature. As you continue your poking and prodding you start to notice the creatures breathing becoming heavier, it's face becoming more and more flushed. The creature's reaction to your probing causes you to look where you hand has wandered, only to find it groping at what would otherwise be a woman's chest. You stop, a perplexed expression crosses your face as you continue to try and make since of it.
  26.
  27. Under a laboured breath the creature speaks to you, seemingly trying to normalize it's breathing as it talks. "I-is something that matter Anon? Are they not how you like them?" she asks you, a tinge of sadness in her voice.
  28.
  29. "I...Uh..what?" You manage to get out, confused at what the creature means.
  30.
  31. "Do you not like the size of my bust Anon? I can change it if you like." She says rather meekly. "If there is something about me you don't like I'll try to change for you," she pleads.
  32.
  33. "It's...uh...Fine, it's fine" You say. "I mean this is just a weird dream right?"
  34.
  35. The creature's mouth turns into a frown, "Do you really think I'm not real Anon?" it says, your words seem to cause it more and more distress.
  36.
  37. "This has to be," you say as you shrug your shoulders. "I mean how could it not? It's just a weird dream."
  38.
  39. The creature bites it's lower 'lip' as it thinks of a way to convince you. While it attempts to find a way to convince you the situation is anything but a dream, you sit on the edge of your bed. Laying at the back of your mind, you know of one way to test if this truly is a dream, however you push that 'test' aside in an vain attempt to find another solution. As you start to think, a shadow casts itself over you, craning your neck you look to find the creature standing over you, a very discernible frown upon it's face.
  40.
  41. "Anon, I can't think of a way to prove to you I'm real," It says rather defeated. "Please tell me if there is anyway I can prove it."
  42.
  43. You shake your head, offering up your empty palms to show you don't have an idea either, "Not really" you say. "I mean I have one idea, but it's rather obvious."
  44.
  45. The creature's expression perks up "Oh Anon! Tell me! I want to prove this is real!" It says excitedly clasping its hands together.
  46.
  47. You begin to move your right hand before realizing that the entire time you've had the keys still clenched in your fist, realizing this you deposit them back into your pants pocket . With the keys safely tucked back into your pants you simple reach over to your left arm, your hand hovering over the forearm with the thumb and index finger extended. You stop as soon as you begin, looking up at the creature, which in turn looks back at you.
  48.
  49. "Anon, are you going to tell me how I can prove it?" The creature asks in slight frustration. "I'll help anyway I can, please let me prove to you!"
  50.
  51. "This is something I can easily do on my own," You bluntly explain.
  52.
  53. You return your attention back to your arm, your eyes glancing out the corner to see if the creature is still there or not. With one simple motion you pinch yourself, you only feel pressure. Despite the result you don't seem content with just one test, moving your right hand up more towards the the elbow. Picking a random spot, your eyes flick back to see the creature at the edge of your vision, still there, eyes fixed on you. You pinch yourself again, you feel pressure and some pain with it. Your eyes jolt open slightly as you confirm what has been transpiring and what is transpiring is very much real.
  54.
  55. Pinching the bridge of your nose you sigh. "Well this is real all right," you say dejectedly.
  56.
  57. The creature sits down on the bed next to you, letting out an excited squeal as it squeezes you "Anon I'm so happy! See I am real!" It says with excitement
  58.
  59. You don't move, not out of fear of what the creature might do as it's 'arms' are wrapped around you in a embrace, but more under the fact that so far it hadn't tried to kill you and thus it would stand to be best to take this strange situation in stride. You lift your arms, breaking the embrace in the process as the creature voluntarily lets go, rubbing your eyes from exhaustion.
  60.
  61. "Are you tired Anon?" The creature asks you with concern in it's voice. "I got the bed ready for you while I waited for you to come home, I even cleaned up!"
  62.
  63. Exhausted, you drop all pretenses and simply nod. The creature stands up and walks over to your dresser, opening and closing each drawer in succession as she looks through each of them.
  64.
  65. "Anon, do you wear anything to bed? Can I help you get ready in any way?" It asks, turning around to face you.
  66.
  67. "Just gonna wear my boxers to bed," you say as you stifle a yawn.
  68.
  69. "O-oh..OK!" The creature says, her face seems become flush as you respond to her question. "Do you need any help Anon?"
  70.
  71. As you strip down you can't help but notice the creature seems to be looking over your body, her face seemingly more flushed than when you told answered it's question moments ago. Realizing you're watching it stare at you, the creature covers it's face with it's hands out of embarrassment. Your mind ponders why such a creature would react the way it does, especially towards you. You shrug the question off, again taking it in stride with the rest of this situation. As you start to pull the covers down you find yourself stopping again. One last question sits in your mind.
  72.
  73. "Wait," you say. "Where are you gonna sleep?"
  74.
  75. "W-W-Well...I-I was hoping to be able to sleep with you Anon!" The creature stammers out, it's body language matching the embarrassed expression that sits on the creature's face.
  76.
  77. "Fine," you say with a roll of your eyes. "Just if it turns out you're gonna kill me in my sleep, at least make sure I'm dead asleep."
  78.
  79. The creature stares at you in mild shock, "Anon I would never do anything to hurt you." It says.
  80.
  81. "In any case, if you're coming to bed, you sure you want to...uh 'wear' that maid outfit?" You ask the creature.
  82.
  83. "Oh...OH! Y-YES! OF COURSE!" Stammers the creature anxiously, "but can you... umm... look away Anon while I change?"
  84.
  85. You snort in amusement and roll your eyes before turning around. You start to wonder why the creature's behaviour is so strange, you've even started to become amused by it's rather meek personality.
  86.
  87. "You can look now Anon," The creature says to you.
  88.
  89. Turning around you face the creature to see it's form has changed. While the general shape of a young human woman still stands before you, her 'outfit' has changed. Becoming more of a rather humble nightgown, it's colour the same pure white that it's 'maid outfit' was. As you eye the creature up and down, it seems to become more fidgety, as if concerned about something.
  90.
  91. "Something wrong?" You simply ask, more focused on going to bed than anything.
  92.
  93. "Well...It's just our first night in bed together...I'm a little nervous," the creature sheepishly admits.
  94.
  95. "You're nervous?" You say cocking an eyebrow, "I'm the one whose nervous."
  96.
  97. "Anon please don't be nervous, I won't hurt you I promise!" The creature says, looking into your eyes.
  98.
  99. As you look into the creatures eyes you see a sort of sincerity to it's words. Putting some measure of faith into the creature's promise you climb into bed, with the creature climbing into bed shortly after you. As you lay there the creature bids you goodnight, to which you respond half heartedly. As you lay awake you wonder if the creature might be lying, but in your tuckered state you start to shove these fears away, reasoning that whatever needs to be addressed can be done so in the morning. Eventually you lose your fight against exhaustion, nodding off.
