/ZTG/Secret Santa Info

General Information:
Hello /ZTG/! Welcome to a SPECTACULAR HOLIDAY CELEBRATION for us to have together in the coming months. /Zootopia General/ Secret Santa! This event is meant not only to give gifts to individuals as well as the fandom and thread as a whole.

I’m sure most of us know what Secret Santa is, but just in case, here is a quick rundown:
Every secret “Santa” has to give a gift to a person whose name they randomly receive from a digital “hat”. By signing up, you agree you will both give a personal gift to a giftee (the person whose name you receive) and you put your name in to receive a gift tailored just for you from another anon!

One of the goals of this Secret Santa is to get as many people participating as possible. In some previous thread events, I noticed that many felt left out because they weren’t necessarily “content creators”, at least not by their own definition. Though that could be true for some of those events, for this one I want to emphasize that anyone can create content to gift to people for them to enjoy! “Content” isn’t just drawing or writing. Any Zootopia stuff you create with L O V E and C A R E is CONTENT.

If the thread seems to disagree with any of the rules/points/dates I’ve made for this exchange and there seems to be general consensus (i could possibly make a survey for any issues that come up!), I would be more than happy to change them. This is for all of us to celebrate together!

All names are randomly selected and paired up using this link ( https://www.randomlists.com/list-randomizer . 1 and 2 will go together, then 3 and 4, 5 and 6, etc.). If you have a genuine reason to not want to pair up with the particular person whose name you receive, contact me and ill get you another name.

or find me on the threads. I’ll shill 1-2 times a day depending on how close we get to the date and I ALWAYS have the thread open to check for responses. After signups close just ask for me and i will magically appear (aka i will use ctrl+F to search for “secret santa”. so use that phrase if you want me to magically appear.)




Information/Tips on Gifts:

Here are some examples of gifts that could be exchanged through this Secret Santa event:
Drawing, fanfic, poems, songs, animation, audio play (acting out characters), sculpture (send pictures! ), a video of you performing a Zootopia themed exotic dance, a snowman of someones sona, photoshopping real animals as Zootopia characters your giftee likes, personally forge a new planet filled with just Jack Savages and name it after your giftee, etc. Just don’t forget to put that LOVE AND CARE into it and be sure to take your time!

Examples of what is NOT allowed*:
Working off of already existing content ( sending in a drawing/fic/etc you already made that happens to fit your giftee’s interests, sending a drawing/fic/etc someone else made that happens to fit the giftee’s interests, doing a reading of an already existing fanfiction, coloring an already existing drawing, etc.), sacrificing a rabbit to Satan in the name of your giftee, being sad ever, bullying bunnies, etc. Also be sure to put effort into your gift. Make it something that you would be overjoyed to receive!

*Only exception is if the giftee specifies that is what they want…(FYI: If you specify you want something in particular, its not guaranteed you will get that specific request filled by your Secret Santa. Santas, don’t feel pressured to fill these specific requests if you don’t want to)


Side note: Collaborations are allowed if that is what you would like to do. Feel free to get as many people as you want to participate in your gift, just remember who your giftee is and remember you’re making this for them.

Overall, just make it something ORIGINAL and NEW that you would be ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to receive. Think of the golden rule, sort of.

If you have any questions about what would be allowed, please don’t hesitate to contact me. It doesn’t have to be a big ordeal, just shoot me a quick message! OR you can ask the thread for a general idea on how people would react. More opinions are probably better in this case. I don’t want to seem like a gatekeeper.

Note: Gifts don’t necessarily have to be “Holiday” themed.

In order to sign up, you must fill out an anonymous google form. This is to get contact information as well as give you ideas for your Secret Santa. It will not track anything  extra and I only receive the information you willingly give me.

By submitting this form you are agreeing that you will be able to submit your gift by January 5th, 2018 for your giftee unless an unavoidable emergency comes up. In that case you will contact me to tell me you are unable to make your gift.

“How will I know what to make for my giftee!?!” you ask?!?!?! “ I DON’T EVEN KNOW THIS PERSON!!!” you say??!!? NO FEAR. Within this sign up sheet is a handy survey about personal and zootopia related interests! With the answers from this, you will know more information about your giftee than the FBI knows about a person who dared to even google the word “Tor”!!!

Schedule:
Here is the schedule I have worked out so far for this exchange:
Signup survey sent out: Wednesday, November 1
Signups due: Wednesday, November 15
Names of giftees sent to Secret Santas: Monday, November 20
Back out date *: Wednesday, December 20
Delivery day**: Friday, January 5th

*Please try to be respectful to backup Santas by not backing out of being a Secret Santa later than this date! Emergencies are an understandable exception and completely fine.

**DON’T SEND YOUR GIFT EARLIER THAN THE DELIVERY DAY. Although the delivery day isn’t on Christmas, we can make January 5th a sort of Thread Christmas where we have a bunch of gifts appearing at once! Would you give a Christmas gift to your niece or nephew on December 19th? Maybe if circumstances required that, but you probably wouldn’t if you didn’t have to because you know it takes away some of the joy from Christmas day itself. So please, wait until the delivery day to send/ post your gift unless you REALLY have no other choice.




Delivery Day To-do List for you and Info

On the delivery day, here are the steps of what ya gotta do:
1: Obviously, you MUST send your gift to your giftee through one of the contact methods given by them. If you are unable to contact them through that method (ex: they only gave a discord but you don’t have a discord) or unwilling to contact through that method (ex: they only gave an email but you don’t want to use email because its connected to you personally), just contact me and I will get it sent to them! This is no problem at all and I actually expect to have to do this for a few people. Don’t hesitate to do this if you prefer.
2(optional): Post your gift to the thread! If your gift isn’t super personal, id bet my ass the thread will enjoy it! This event is meant not only to give gifts to individuals, but to give gifts to the thread and fandom as a whole.
3: Send your gift to me! If you prefer, rather than send me the gift itself you can also send me ABSOLUTE CONFIRMATION that you sent it to your giftee. This is MANDATORY and is for two reasons:
	a: To confirm that you in fact completed your piece so i don’t have to contact a Backup Santa to replace you.
	b: So I can post your piece on the ZTG Secret Santa archive! (url is at bottom). If you are already posting your piece on Tumblr, just send me a link to the Tumblr post instead and ill reblog it to the archive so you can get those sweet Tumblr (You)s directly to your account. (If you would prefer to not have it on the archive for whatever reason, just note that when you send it to me and I won’t post it. This is no problem at all. I don’t want to post any creation I don’t have permission to post. (Just to be sure, on the day of I will double check that you are okay with it being posted there.))

If you don’t send me the gift or confirmation you sent it to your giftee, ill assume you died horribly or are avoiding me because you decided it was too hard to SPREAD SOME HOLIDAY CHEER to your poor, lonely, gift-less giftee. So in this situation, ill try and contact you a few times before finally contacting a Backup Santa by ~January 8th to make a late gift. That gives you three buffer days to be dead and then come back to life. Jesus has the high score at the moment. Aim for sooner than 3 days in this situation, please.
If you don’t want to full-out cancel your gift but just need an extension, contact me as early as possible so i can let your poor little giftee know. :’(

4: THIS ONE IS ABSOLUTELY MANDATORYYYY. Enjoy your gift and bask in the joy thats comes from it, from your giftee, and from the thread. Have a holly, jolly day/night.

Because of the nature of the board, all gifts must be given digitally. No addresses are being exchanged in this Secret Santa for physical gifts unless you decide afterwards to personally contact your giftee and they agree to give their address for a physical gift.
Don’t give addresses through me, I don’t want to get involved. I will ignore and delete if you send it to me.
