  1. Atla needed some new information about Ezmara's leadership and also needed to find a healer, so he decided to ask those who were near the entrance of the temple, the woman seemed asleep, he then focused his attention on the great man in armor.
  2.
  3. "Excuse me, I'd like some information, after the war I heard that Solem had died, so who became Ezmara new Warchief? And I'm looking for someone with healing powers, would you know of someone like that?"
  4.
  5. The pain in his shoulder seemed not to cease.
  6. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  7. Just in luck! The woman before him smelled of chemicals, her clothing clearly not meant for combat, so he had come to the right place.
  8.
  9. "Oh! Um there's no new warchief which is why I'm guessing they're just gonna slap Noa into it once he's eighteen mhm." She nodded. "I'm Masika! Masika Tarrock, and I'm a doctor n an Alchemist! Though I'm pretty low on Cylion so making lax essence is a bit of a problem..."
  10.
  11. A pause. "What's up? Is someone hurt?"
  12. (Masika)
  13. The Paladin, clad in mythril armor, locks his hazel irises upon Atla-Cuauhtli. He examines the Ezmaran in front of him, and lets Masika speak for him. He keeps on quiet, the cracks of holy energy being the only font of light on the inside of his armor.
  14.
  15. He felt like speaking up, but he was not a master of healing. He was slightly fond of it, and only that. And as such, Paladin speaks only a few words.
  16.
  17. "I am a holy magi." The only words that echoed from his throat, still looking for any potential wounds that the man might have suffered. Then, his gaze averted to Masika. "She's a much better healer than me."
  18. (Paladin)
  19. "I understand." Atal answered about Ezmara's leadership.
  20.
  21. Masika decides to speak to Atla, he had already seen her several times in Ezmara but never really talked to her, and also the man in the armor of mythril, but it is always good to understand his Tribe mates.
  22.
  23. "I think the two of you could help me, I'm the one who needs help, but..." He put his hand on his right shoulder.
  24.
  25. "The wound is spiritual, but the pain is physical, it's a long story, I thought of a way to take care of it, but I need help. I would not like to give more details here, since it's a private matter..."
  26.
  27. He lowered his head, still a little reluctant about it.
  28. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  29. Masika says, "Lemme see if I have any lax.."
  30. Masika says, "I'll be right back."
  31. The Paladin looks at Atla. He then looks at Masika walking away, and then walking back. His gaze never leaves someone, but then... He just lets out a sigh. Atla does not want to give more details? He does not want to give any more help.
  32.
  33. Plain as it is.
  34. (Paladin)
  35. Returning back to the paladin's side, Masika would be... empty handed. She sighed, leaning against the temple.
  36.
  37. "I'm out of Venom. It's in Stinnox you know like those big things in the beach cavern? If you get me a few vials I can make you some lax essence which'll numb the pain in your shoulder and make it easier to concentrate. It won't fix the um spiritual aspect but it should make you feel better."
  38.
  39. She nodded, seemingly too lazy to fix it with her magic. Oh well.
  40. (Masika)
  41. Atla put one hand on his head.
  42.
  43. "I think they understood it a little wrong, it's something related to runic scripts, I'm a runescriber, I know Lax, it's really a great remedy, but I do not need it now, it's something else I'm dealing with ..."
  44.
  45. He then points to the left, where the beach would be.
  46.
  47. "My house is right there on the beach, if you could accompany me there I could tell you all the details, and then you can decide whether to help me or not after hearing the story."
  48. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  49. Masika exclaims, "Sure!"
  50. Masika asks, "So... Explain?"
  51. Knock knock.
  52. (Paladin)
  53. Atla-Cuauhtli says, "Just one moment, i'll check the door."
  54. "You can enter."
  55. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  56. Atla-Cuauhtli says, "Oh, so you decided to come, come on, sit down, I was about to begin the explanation."
  57. Paladin says, "Sure."
  58. Paladin does not sit down.
  59. (Paladin)
  60. Masika is sitting down, hands warmed over the fire with a cheery expression.
  61. (Masika)
  62. They go to Atla's house and sit on some benches in the living room.
  63.
  64. "It's pretty big, so I'll try to summarize some parts ..."
  65.
  66. Atla arranges herself to be in a comfortable position as she tells the story.
  67.
  68. "I am an Energy Magi, archer and also runescriber, I am accustomed to doing meditations using a runic circle to stabilize my mana, in more recent meditations I reached the spiritual world, although for a few hours my body began to absorb the mana latent in that world, despite having given me a greater knowledge in mana manipulation, there was something I had not noticed, there was a lot of energy that I could not control inside me ... "
  69.
  70. "And there something happened, I was meditating with Nochte on the beach, Nochte is an occultist magician, and then Raoni appeared, a keeper of Holy magic, he seemed to have joined us, and at first I did not call, but then I realized that this had been a mistake, I was between an intense struggle between negativity and positivity, I was literally in the middle of the two Magis while I was in the most fragile moment, the meditation, my will and spirit were not enough to bear it, Raoni and Nochte were in perfect sync, but I did not, this caused a disturbance in my spirit, causing the latent energy to uncontrol and seek an exit from my body, as I am an archer the part where I concentrate more magic at all times is the back of my right shoulder, is the crucial muscle of an archer, and imagine a huge amount of mana trying to get out of a small place, this has caused damage to my magic circuit and my spirit ... "
  71.
  72. He paused for breath, an explanation perhaps too long.
  73.
  74. "I will spend some time without being able to perfectly control the mana in and out of my body, and this causes great pain to my shoulder, but I thought of a way to fix and maybe even amplify my abilities, the answer would be a rune at the specific point , the back of my shoulder, with it I could try to regulate the massive gross energy, but this process will cause a lot of pain in my body and I will be unable to continue if there is no one to heal me continuously during the process, both physically and spiritually, and that's where you come in. "
  75.
  76. He breathes again.
  77.
  78. "Phew, sorry it's been too long, now you understand why I did not want to speak in public."
  79. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  80. She listened quietly, intently. Masika's gaze would focus on the man's shoulder, her lips curled into a slight frown.
  81.
  82. "I'm an energy magi too. I use it so I can study mana circuits and repair them if needed, so you're just in luck." A slight smile from the Ezmaran. "So just make the rune and I'll be able to place it onto the back. I'll be able to tap into your mana as well so just guide whatever runesmith stuff you've got planned and I can confirm it mhm."
  83.
  84. A brief glance towards Paladin. "It'll be a snap."
  85. (Masika)
  86. Atla-Cuauhtli says, "I have a special room prepare for that, follow me."
  87. The Paladin looked at the duo of energy magi. As much as he did make a big deal for it... Paladin did not seem to see the problem. He looked at the wound, expecting it to be a gashing, horrible wound, but it was just a wound to the soul. Maybe something that he could help, but... It was no corruption, no occult energy tainting him, and even further, no physical wound. That is not something that he could do.
  88.
  89. "An occultist and a holy magi in perfect sync?" He said, a sarcastic tone on his voice. He looked at the man, slowly approaching him, standing at the other side of his body.
  90.
  91. "I'll be able to heal and keep you there, but... It's not that simple, you know." He said, analyzing the man's plan. Etching a rune to his own skin? That was, plain and simple madness. However, it was something that he could not do, and Masika was also a probably better Energy mage than he was.
  92.
  93. A sigh came from him, as he removed the helmet, putting it upon a nearby stool. He then frowned his lips, the loose, uncombed blonde hair, now overgrown from what it was before, finally revealed itself. His hazel irises focused on the man as his hand was slowly overtaken with holy energy, and much differently... He did not shine entirely this time around, the point of mana being focused upon his hand. Perhaps for the first time in a while, he was mastering his holy energy.
  94.
  95. "You could try to manipulate lesser amounts of energy instead of just shoving extreme amounts of energy at your enemies. It seems like a more prudent tactic, doesn't it?" The Holy magi commented, although he was ready to repair whatever damage came.
  96. (Paladin)
  97. They went to the room that Atla normally used for meditation, the environment there was better and the place was better prepared for it, he drew a runic circle in the indicated place and then stood in the middle of the circle, while Masika and Paladin were by his side .
  98.
  99. "Maybe Masika understands this better, but Energy Magis is complicated, we are manipulating the grosser form of mana, it is not something light and polished, sometimes without even realizing we may be using energy ..." Atla tried to answer Paladin's questioning.
  100.
  101. "Well, let's continue."
  102.
  103. He designed runes on paper and then handed it to Masika.
  104.
  105. "When the energy begins to flow from my body put the paper glued to the back of my right shoulder, that's where the crucial point of mana is, and then put some energy into the runes and they will be transferred to mine shoulder and then begin the process, I will try to align mind, body and spirit, so through the spirit I will regulate the amount of energy and how the flow of mana will work with my magic circuit, this will cause great physical pain, at that moment you can start to heal me Paladin, it seems simple right? But it is not. "
  106.
  107. He then relaxed his body and closed his eyes.
  108.
  109. "Ready?"
  110.
  111. Atla began to meditate and reach for his spirit, at the same time that energy began to flow from his body.
  112. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  113. {Item} You drop Runes.
  114. Masika nodded along. Having put her 25 RPP towards Alchemy instead of Runesmithing, the woman was honestly clueless about the whole thing. So, she would hold the paper tightly, watching the man meditate in front of her.
  115.
  116. And when it looked about right, her fingers would begin to glow. Blueish energy flowed into the runic etchings, the paper brimming with light. Masika would place it on his shoulder, smoothing it against the muscle.
  117.
  118. "Okay, let's see if this works!"
  119. (Masika)
  120. The Paladin looks to whatever the fuck is happening. He understands nothing of it, since it's... Formal things about Energy magic, and something about spirit and flow of mana and magic circuits. All of those? He got it for himself as a gift, given to him by his purest emotions and intents.
  121.
  122. And as such, he understands only the part that he should heal Atla. This seemed like a really, really dumb idea, as he said it before, and now he feels the need to say it once again.
  123.
  124. "You know that Holy energy doesn't heal your spirit directly, right?" He spoke, quirking an eyebrow towards the man that seemingly had no consideration for his word.
  125. (Paladin)
  126. He could no longer answer the questions of Paladin since he was concentrating on meditation, but I will leave as narrator notes that the magic circuit is connected to both the spirit and the body, the pains are due to the pressure on the muscles caused by the intense spiritual effort that reflected in the body.
  127.
  128. His mind was already at an advanced stage of meditation, his spirit was slowly separating from his body as he imagined the waves and currents of mana in the spirit world.
  129.
  130. It was then that the process began, the runes on his shoulder began to glow intensely, he began to absorb and expel mana through the point the runes covered, the pain in his body began, his muscles began to squirm, Atla cried out pain as he tried to hold his position, perhaps the pain was as intense as a birth but spread through his body.
  131.
  132. Now was the time for the others to act, otherwise the body of Atla could collapse and he could get a permanent injury.
  133. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  134. She'd hold the paper on as long as he was conscious, verdants intensely watching the man's reaction. Her own magic wouldn't come into play-- the best she could do being summoning spiritual plants to numb the pain, but Masika figured he didn't want a tree to burst in through his meditation room.
  135.
  136. So, she would whisper. "Um, Cullen, I think you might need to just like numb the pain like a knock off Lax essence." She nodded, her hands still glowing blue. Her own mana would slowly ebb into the fray, mixing with Atla's.
  137. (Masika)
  138. The Paladin lets out a sigh, as soon as Masika told him what he was supposed to do. The Krausite was obviously not happy with how the man himself decided to conduct -- It was clearly too bold, too daring... But indeed, it was commendable effort. At least since he could do nothing to stop him from doing something he considered dumb, he could numb the pain.
  139.
  140. And as such, Cullen's leylines began shining a strong yellow, embedded in holy magic. At each heartbeat, a pulse of holy energy was sent throughout the room through his leylines, which followed the forms of his veins. And as such, with another sigh, he revealed the insides of his mouth, which shone a bright yellow hue.
  141.
  142. Removing his right hand's gauntlet, the arm was now practically whole again. Recovered through the days, and even more so with the intense outburst that he just had of holy energy, the man lifts it over Atla's head.
  143.
  144. Grasping his crown with his fingers, Cullen emits holy energy as to numb the man's bodily sensations. An overwhelming sensation of calmness, serenity and peace, all emanating from Cullen's fingertips, into Atla's body. It could interrupt with his meditation, since he was fiddling with extreme amounts of holy energy, sending it in such bulky amounts that they would most definitely purify whatever segment of unholy energy they found.
  145.
  146. At the very least, however, it served for the purpose. It numbed the pain, and as such... It stopped him from suffering all that much. At least for that, Cullen was useful enough.
  147. (Paladin)
  148. Paladin's effort was really valuable, his powers were at a high level, the healing was enough to keep Atla's body stabilized, he no longer screamed in pain, he was calm and calm again.
  149.
  150. In his mind however he was deep in the images of the spiritual world, in his mind he could see a river, a river of mana with a great current, without a narrow margin to regulate it, Atla then approached the edge of that river, crouched down and then touched this river of mana.
  151.
  152. Suddenly in his body the amount of energy flowing increases excessively, the circle below his feet breaks, he had absorbed as much as he could, spreading through the air of the room with a turquoise blue that contrasted with the light of Paladin's powers in an instant it was possible to see almost as one side of a wing of pure condensed manna emerging from the runes on Atla's right shoulder, his heart began to accelerate, and his muscles began to squirm even more, but thanks to Paladin'smagic this had been contained.
  153.
  154. In Atla's mind again his hand was still inside the river, which now narrowed more and more, he drove the flow to his will, now he could regulate his mana.
  155.
  156. In his body the mana wing on his right shoulder had now disappeared, along with the rest of the energy in his body, the flow that went through his magic circuit seemed to be taking the right axes, the runes stop shining and the energy in the room dispersed.
  157.
  158. Slowly Atla opened his eyes now.
  159.
  160. "There, everything has already been done ..."
  161.
  162. He sat down on the floor because of his tiredness.
  163.
  164. "Thank you both, that was a huge help, I promise I'll repay in the future."
  165. (Atla-Cuauhtli)
  166. Masika says, "It's no problem! I always love to help people especially my own mhm."
  167. The Paladin just... Kept shoving holy magic there. His holy magic kept repairing Atla's harmed body, sending tranquilizing ripples of holy energy through his body. They did not simply tranquilize him, though. Slowly, they washed through his emotions, grinding against whatever negative emotions he held at this moment.
  168.
  169. At the end, he was not only trying to make his body numb from pain, but also purifying him to whatever extent he could. As soon as the wing manifested itself, he sent out a final shockwave of holy energy through the Gehennan.
  170.
  171. After the meditating man opened his eyes, Cullen let out a simple nod. A smile was conducted to him and Masika, as he slowly fit the gauntlet over his hand. His body was still crackling with holy energy, his hazel irises turning into a bright yellow tone.
  172.
  173. His voice was accompanied with a peaceful, symphonic hum on the background. "It's nothing." He said, before making his way out of the room.
  174. (Paladin)
  175. Masika says, "..."
  176. Masika says, "He's been a bit off lately so I hope you feel better mhm."
  177. Masika says, "I'll get you some lax essence if I can, but most of my magic's pretty useless when it comes to superficial pain."
  178. Atla-Cuauhtli says, "Thank you so much, there's no need, you already did a lot."
  179. Atla-Cuauhtli says, "I'll acompany you to the exit."
  180. Masika exclaims, "Hi paladin!"
  181. Paladin asks, "... Huh?"
  182. Paladin fetches his helmet back, putting it over his head.
  183. (Paladin)
  184. Atla-Cuauhtli says, "If I can be of any help remember to call me."
  185. Masika says, "Okie! Maybe to enchant some armor mhm."
  186. Masika exclaims, "Back to chilling in the square!"
  187. Masika says, "Spirits protect! If you need any more help just ask~"
  188. Paladin says, "Uh..."
  189. Paladin asks, "How good of a runescribe are you?"
  190. Atla-Cuauhtli says, "I'm tier 3, i can use medium enchantments, make capture cubes, myhril limbs restorations, etc."
  191. Paladin says, "Uh... Yeah, later on, I'll have something."
