  1. Capoeirista (Unchained Monk archetype)
  2. While many monks seek enlightenment from pilgrimages or meditation, some seek it through performance in the company of crowds. Blending dance and martial arts, capoeiristas use swift flowing movements to strike with palms, kicks, elbows, knees, and the occasional tail or claw, one right after another.
  3.
  4.
  5. Alignment: Capoeristas may be of any alignment.
  6.
  7. Skills: Capoeiras lose the Stealth class skill and gain the Bluff class skill. This modifies the class skills.
  8.
  9. Proficiencies: Capoeristas do not gain any weapon or armor proficiencies; all existing and future proficiencies are unaffected. She instead gains the Unarmed Training talent from the Equipment combat sphere; if she already has this talent, she may instead choose one of the following feats: Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Improved Trip, Finesse Fighting. In addition, if this is this character’s first level in any class, they may select a martial tradition of their choice. This modifies weapon and armor proficiencies.
  10. When wearing armor, using a shield, or carrying a medium or heavy load, a capoeirista loses her fast movement and whirlwind dance abilities.
  11.
  12. Combat Training (Ex): A capoeirista is considered an adept practitioner, gaining spheres and talents as appropriate. Capoeristas use Charisma as their practitioner modifier. This replaces the bonus feats class feature.
  13.
  14. Unburdened Dancer (Ex): When unarmored and unencumbered, the capoeirista adds her Charisma bonus (if any) to her AC and CMD. This bonus increases by +1 for every 3 ranks in the Perform (Dance) skill they possess. These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks or when the capoeirista is flat-footed. She loses these bonuses when she is immobilized or helpless, when she wears any armor, when she carries a shield, or when she carries a medium or heavy load.
  15. This replaces the AC Bonus class feature. If the capoeirista has the Unarmored Training feat, she may choose to replace it with any one combat talent she qualifies for from the Dual Wielding or Open Hand combat spheres.
  16. Associated Feat: Unarmored Training.
  17.
  18. Martial Arts: At 1st level, the capoeirista gains the Dual Wielding and Open Hand combat spheres as bonus talents. If the capoeirista already possesses one of these base spheres, she may instead choose any one combat talent she qualifies for from the associated sphere; if she possesses both, she may choose one combat talent for each.
  19.
  20. Charismatic Mind: A Capoeirista may apply her charisma modifier instead of her wisdom modifier to will saves. She must decide to use this ability before the saving throw is attempted.
  21. This replaces Flawless Mind.
  22.
  23. Whirlwind Dance (Ex): Starting at 1st level, a capoeirista may expend martial focus to perform a whirlwind dance as a standard action. She cannot expend martial focus in this way unless she had martial focus at the beginning of her turn. This is treated as a normal attack action for all purposes, but she makes an additional attack alongside any other attacks performed. This attack cannot be made with the same weapon or body part as any previously-used attack done in this turn. The capoeirista must decide whether or not to use this ability before making the first attack roll for her attack action. Attacks made using this ability apply the capoeirista’s full Strength bonus to the damage roll, regardless of whether the weapon is wielded with two hands or with an off-hand. This extra attack can be used alongside the extra attack granted by the Dual Wielding sphere, but the Dual Attack penalty to the attack roll will apply to the attack made by Whirlwind Dance as well.
  24. At 5th level, the capoeirista may substitute any valid Trip attack or maneuver for one of the attacks.
  25. At 10th level, the capoeirista may perform yet another attack with a Whirlwind Dance, but all attacks in the sequence take a -2 penalty on their attack rolls when doing so; this penalty stacks with the penalty from Dual Attack.
  26. At 15th level, the penalties imposed by the second additional attack and Dual Attack are reduced by 1. This includes the initial penalty imposed on the Dual Attack's attacks, even when not performing a whirlwind dance.
  27. At 20th level, she may substitute a Stunning Fist in place of one of the attacks, but with a -2 penalty to its DC.
  28. This replaces Flurry of Blows.
  29. Associated Feat: Flurry of Blows.
  30.
  31. Roll with the Changes (Ex): At 4th level, if a capoeirista is ever put into a flanked state, she may spend 1 point from her ki pool to immediately take a 5-foot step in any direction as a free action. She may continue to use this ability so long as she is flanked and has ki points to spend. This movement does not provoke an attack of opportunity. This ability may be used outside of the capoeirista's turn.
  32. This replaces Still Mind.
  33.
  34. Revitalizing Dance (Ex): At 17th level, once per day, a capoeirista may attempt a DC 35 Perform (Dance) check. If successful, all penalties to ability scores imposed by aging are undone for 1 week. The DC of this check is reduced to 20 if the check is done as part of a performance for a crowd. A capoeirista may still make this check while already under the effects of a revitalizing dance; if successful, the duration of the effect is reset to 1 week.
  35. This replaces Timeless Body.
  36.
  37. Perfect Spirit: At 20th level, a capoeirista may substitute Charisma in place of Wisdom for any purpose. In addition, she gains both DR/Evil or Chaotic and Spell Resistance equal to half her ranks in Perform (Dance), rounded down (minimum 1). She is rendered immune to Charisma ability damage and drain.
  38. This replaces Perfect Self.
