- After beating LT. Surge, I went back to the Pokemon Center to get my team back together. While I was on the P.C., I noticed that
- little Magikarp I had caught before was just laying there. People around the Pokemon Center told me it was useless, but I'm sure
- that's not true. I decided to take it with me to train it and maybe see if it would evolve. Sadly, it was level 5, which is very low
- compared to the rest of my team, so I went outside to train it. The training session was really good, and Magikarp evolved into a
- Gyarados at level 20! It looks really fierce and strong. Those people in the Pokemon Center probably don't know anything about
- Pokemon, this thing's great! Now, I must march onwards to the next place that has a Gym, Celadon City. Apparently, the only way to
- get to Celadon city is through the tunnel next to Lavender Town, so I must head for Lavender Town. I got a call from one of Professor
- Oak's aides, asking me to go back to Route 2 to get a gift. Route 2 is very far from Vermilion City and there's no way to go back
- because of the slopes on Mt. Moon. However, the aide told me that Diglett's Cave is actually directly connected to Route 2, so I
- raced on to Route 2 to get my gift! When I met with the aide, he said he would only give me the gift on one condition... I'd have to
- have caught or owned at least 10 different types of Pokemon. Of course, I had fulfilled that condition since long ago, I've owned 23
- different types of Pokemon. He gave me the HM05, which contains Flash. It's very convenient, I mean, now I can light up any dark cave
- as long as I have a Pokemon with Flash on my team. I gave my thanks to the aide and went back to Vermilion City. I checked out my map
- and to get to Lavender Town, I need to go through a dark cave called Rock Tunnel, but first I had to get back to Cerulean City again.
- I am now at Cerulean City, so I went East towards Route 9. I wanted to get a new Pokemon, but the road was full of trainers. The
- first trainer I faced was just a girl scout, but her Pokemon were very annoying. They poisoned my Gyarados, so I had to run back to
- Cerulean City's Pokemon Center to heal it. After that was done with, I went back to Route 6 to storm through! As I went through each
- trainer, I noticed there was some grass on the top of the hill, so I went to check it out. No new Pokemon here either, my luck was
- getting worse by the minute. I ventured on through the route, fighting every trainer until I found myself on Route 10. I was a bit
- discouraged because Route 9 was the second route where I was unable to find any new Pokemon, so I went through Route 10 without
- looking through the tall grass. As I walked, I noticed a Poke Ball on the ground. It was fairly larger than the usual Poke Ball, so I
- thought that was a Poke Ball to catch a very big or strong Pokemon. I went to grab it, but I couldn't help but to scream and run away
- as the ball turned around and made electricity noises. My Pokedex activated and said it was the Pokemon Voltorb! Something new,
- finally! I sent out my Ivysaur and poisoned it with Poisonpowder, which made is easier to catch, although it took me 3 Poke Balls to
- get him. There was a Pokemon Center on Route 10, so I went to heal my Pokemon there, and I overheard some people talking about
- Lavender Town, so I guess I eavesdropped for a little bit. They said Lavender Town has ghosts, so I was a bit shaken up... But,
- that's probably just Ghost-type Pokemon, right? I left the Pokemon Center and entered the Rock Tunnel. As soon as I went down the
- ladder inside, I couldn't see a thing. I used my HM05 on my Alakazam, so it could use Flash and light up the cave for me. It worked!
- I could see very clearly inside thanks to Alakazam! To my misfortune, the first thing I saw on the cave was a bat flying at me. My
- Pokedex said it was a Zubat! As always, I caught it as quickly as possible, no problems whatsoever. I went on through the Rock Tunnel
- trying to find a way out, and I ran into many trainers along the way, one of them was a hiker who had a Graveler. When I fought him,
- I used my Alakazam against him, but... he used Self-Destruct... my Alakazam... it survived with only a little health left. Poor
- Alakazam looked like he was ready to drop, so tried going through Rock Tunnel as fast as possible, knocking out every trainer that
- stood in front of me... As I finished one of these battles, my Geodude began to glow white, it was evolving! Now it's a Graveler!
- It has 4 arms for some reason, but it looks so strong! I went on doing more and more battles and before I was out of the cave, my
- Graveler evolved into a Golem! It's strange how quickly it evolved, but I can't say I understand many other things in the Pokemon
- world. I managed to exit the Rock Tunnel and there were a few trainers outside, but I tried to avoid them because my Pokemon were
- really hurt and I was worried for Alakazam. I reached Lavender Town, and as I thought, not a ghost in sight. I healed up my Pokemon
- and went back up to Route 10 to face the trainers I had avoided before. None of them were much of a challenge, so I went back to
- Lavender Town. I talked to a man in front of the Pokemon Center, he said that there's ghosts in the Pokemon Tower, and that they may
- be the spirits of Pokemon killed by Team Rocket... killing... Pokemon? I was overwhelmed by confusion and anger at the same time, I
- couldn't believe that Team Rocket would go as far as to kill a Pokemon, especially when I'm running around with a curse that every
- Pokemon I own cannot faint, or they would die... I explored more of Lavender Town and found a house with a few people and some
- Pokemon. They said the house belonged to someone called Mr. Fuji, who looks after abandoned Pokemon. It's very nice of this Mr. Fuji
- to do something like this, especially with Team Rocket going around harming Pokemon. I left the house to look for Mr. Fuji, I
- couldn't find him, he wasn't anywhere on the town. There was one place left to check, though, the Pokemon Tower. I went inside to
- check it out. Everyone inside was so sad... there was a man crying for his dead Clefairy, and a woman crying over her Growlithe...
- the atmosphere here wasn't very good for me, so I tried to go up to the stairs, but this old lady told me that there's spirits up
- to mischief up in the tower and that I should be careful. I went upstairs and found... Blue. Why is he here? No way any of his
- Pokemon died. When he talked to me, he was as rude as ever, so I highly doubt anything happened to his Pokemon. He even said he would
- make my Pokemon faint, since he couldn't kill them. That's it, I'm through with this guy, I'm beating him right here, right now,
- again!

- As always, he started with his Pidgeotto, and since I already knew that, I led with Golem. Golem had a hard time hitting Pidgeotto
- with Rock Throw, but he eventually got a hit and took it down in 1 hit. Next, he sent out an Exeggcute, a Grass/Psychic-type Pokemon.
- I wasn't sure what it was capable of, but I pressed on with Golem's Rock Throw attack. I was unable to do much damage to it, so I
- switched out to my Gyarados and used Dragon Rage! Of course, that took Exeggcute down. Next, he sent out his own Gyarados, so I used
- Dragon Rage on it as well, and it went down in 2 hits. His Kadabra is up next. I used Bite this time, because Kadabra's Defense stat
- is very low, so I thought I could finish it in 1 hit. I was right about that, it couldn't take a single Bite attack. Last, he sent
- out his Charmeleon, which I attacked with Dragon Rage and Bite until it was also defeated. I beat him fairly easily, and he keeps
- saying he was going easy. Something's strange, though... where is his Raticate? He had 5 Pokemon on his team, so he could easily
- have brought it with him. Whatever, what he does is no concern of mine. After I beat him, he said he had just caught a Cubone on the
- upper floors, but that he couldn't find its evolution, Marowak, anywhere. I wasn't going to stay behind, so I went up the next
- staircase to the 3rd floor to see if I could get a Ghost-type Pokemon or maybe a Cubone of my own, I've never seen one before. Just
- as I step into the 3rd floor, I noticed a strange feeling on the floor... It was cold, and I could hear moans and other noises
- coming from the upper floors. As I took my next step, I heard a noise, as if there was wind blowing, but that wasn't possible, I was
- inside a tower. Next, I hear a faint voice from upper floors, it's whispering something... I can't tell what it's saying, though...
- "Get out"... It wants me to... get out... I got scared, I had never seen a Ghost-Type Pokemon before, nor this Cubone Pokemon, so
- I didn't know what they could do or what they looked like, so I ran away, down the stairs, until I left the building, covered in
- sweat, my heart racing. I decided to go west to Route 8, maybe get a new Pokemon as I head for Celadon City. I had a battle with a
- Lass on the way, but as always, it was an easy one. I noticed some grass in the middle of the route, so I went over there to see if
- there was a new Pokemon. After a lot of searching, I noticed a little fluffy tail sticking out from the grass a bit far away from
- me. I slowly crept up on it, and it turned around and growled at me, it was a Growlithe! I sent out my Ivysaur to catch it. But
- then I remembered that documentary I once saw on TV about Growlithe. It said it uses its Roar attack to try to intimidate the
- opponent back into it's Poke Ball before it runs away from battle. I threw out a Great Ball at it as soon as the battle started to
- avoid losing it, and it didn't work. Growlithe, however, didn't use Roar. It used Bite on my Ivysaur, but I threw another Great Ball
- at it, and I was able to catch it with that one. After catching Growlithe, I was very eager to get to Celadon City, so I went to the
- Underground Path that connects Route 7 and Route 8 while avoiding as many trainers as possible. When I was out of the Underground
- Path, there was some tall grass right behind the gate, so I went to check it out. Nothing new here, it appears Route 7 and 8 have
- the same Pokemon. At last, I arrived at Celadon City. The city's huge, so I started to explore. I ran into a restaurant, and some
- guy gave me a Coin Case so I could play on the Game Corner, but another man told me to be careful because the Game Corner is run by
- Team Rocket. I went to the Game Corner, and everything looked normal. Many slots lined up next to each other and quite a number of
- people playing on them. Many of them gave me free coins so I could play, and so I did. I played for a bit and got 344 coins, but then
- I left and went to the building next door to the Game Corner. They said I could exchange my coins for prizes, and there it was, a
- little snake-looking Pokemon I hadn't seen before. The lady at the counter said it was a Dratini worth 2800 coins. I hurried over
- back to the Game Corner slots to get some coins. It took me about 20 minutes, but I managed to get all the necessary coins to get my
- Dratini, and so I did. It was very cute, but I left it in the P.C. because I wasn't going to need him just yet. I found the Celadon
- City Gym just south behind a bunch of trees. I peeked through the window and it was filled with girls... only girls were inside. I
- left to go plan how to beat this Gym. I planned to take Drowzee, Alakazam and Beedrill, but Drowzee and Beedrill's level were very
- low, so I had to go train them. I used Route 7 and 8 to toughen them both up before heading to the Gym. Once inside, the trainers
- inside were very annoying, as they kept paralyzing and poisoning my Pokemon, so I had to go back to the Pokemon Center after each
- battle. Once I beat them all, I challenged her... except she was asleep for some reason, but she woke up quickly enough. She's very
- polite and her name is Erika. She uses Grass-type Pokemon, as I already knew. Now, the next step of the stairs to the Pokemon League
- pop up!

- She led the battle with Victreebel, the evolved form of Weepinbell. I led with my Beedrill, because Bug-type Pokemon resist
- Grass-type Pokemon and in case she has any Poison-type Pokemon, Bug also hits those super-effectively! Victreebell is a dual
- Grass/Poison-type Pokemon, so this thing's probably not going to last much. I told Beedrill to use Twineedle and Victreebel wasn't
- able to take both hits. Next, she sent out Tangela. That thing is a Grass-type Pokemon, and a very creepy one, too. I also used
- Beedrill's Twineedle for this one, since it should do enough damage to it. I wasn't able to finish it off with both hits of Twineedle
- so Tangela had a chance to grab Beedrill with its Bind attack, and it wouldn't let go of him! Beedrill didn't look like it was in
- much pain so I just waited until Tangela lowered its grip... "Use Twineedle now!". Beedrill stung Tangela on its vines and managed
- to break free of its grip. Tangela dropped to the ground and was recalled to its Poke Ball. Erika's last Pokemon was Vileplume. It
- was pretty much the same as Victreebel, it went down in a single set of Twineedle. It was a really good idea to bring Beedrill with
- me to this battle! I didn't even need Hypno or Alakazam. Once defeated, Erika handed to me the Rainbow Badge. It looks really pretty
- under the sunlight. Now that I have 4 badges, I'm halfway through with my goal of challenging the Pokemon League. I don't think
- anything can stop me at this point...
- To be continued...
