  1. I have an onboard hdmi connected monitor, called "Media" in my "11-layout.conf" (http://pastebin.com/aGrTL7eG) file and 2 monitors connected to a pci nvidia 9500gt card, called "Desktop" ....... i am using the radeon and nouveau drivers, respectively. I also have a "40-monitors.conf" (http://pastebin.com/S0TeFTgv) and "42-input.conf" (http://pastebin.com/BLxRZhdk) in "xorg.conf.d"
  2.
  3. The only way to have the mobo use the onboard is to make it the primary video device.
  4.
  5. Grub and its following text continues on that hdmi monitor, then it goes black with "no signal" and the other 2 monitors boot gdm login...... the 2 screens, mouse and keyboard all work exactly as needed.
  6.
  7. Once booting is completed, i "ctrl-alt-f2" and tty2 opens on that formerly no signal hdmi monitor. i login, then type "sudo startx -- :1 -layout Media", and the desktop boots into a normal ubuntu classic desktop as root user, with full mouse and keyboard, only on this monitor.
  8.
  9. So far so good.
  10.
  11. I start watching my video on this one screen, then i switch back to "Desktop" by ctrl-alt-f7. This is where the problem is. The audio continues playing, but the video on that screen freezes, as if i hit pause. I want the video to keep playing just as if it was a normal part of my desktop, like just a third monitor, only i dont need the mouse and keyboard to remain active.... just the video not freezing is all i need to fix.
