- I have an onboard hdmi connected monitor, called "Media" in my "11-layout.conf" (http://pastebin.com/aGrTL7eG) file and 2 monitors connected to a pci nvidia 9500gt card, called "Desktop" ....... i am using the radeon and nouveau drivers, respectively. I also have a "40-monitors.conf" (http://pastebin.com/S0TeFTgv) and "42-input.conf" (http://pastebin.com/BLxRZhdk) in "xorg.conf.d"
- The only way to have the mobo use the onboard is to make it the primary video device.
- Grub and its following text continues on that hdmi monitor, then it goes black with "no signal" and the other 2 monitors boot gdm login...... the 2 screens, mouse and keyboard all work exactly as needed.
- Once booting is completed, i "ctrl-alt-f2" and tty2 opens on that formerly no signal hdmi monitor. i login, then type "sudo startx -- :1 -layout Media", and the desktop boots into a normal ubuntu classic desktop as root user, with full mouse and keyboard, only on this monitor.
- So far so good.
- I start watching my video on this one screen, then i switch back to "Desktop" by ctrl-alt-f7. This is where the problem is. The audio continues playing, but the video on that screen freezes, as if i hit pause. I want the video to keep playing just as if it was a normal part of my desktop, like just a third monitor, only i dont need the mouse and keyboard to remain active.... just the video not freezing is all i need to fix.
