Another Discussion - Ironing Out Details


Dmex says, "Won't go too far. Just didn't want to be near... that."
He followed her out and nodded, "Yeah it's no problem at all. Can understand." He looked her over curiously with some concern, "How have you been feeling though? Wonder if the rest helped a bit."

The moment they'd reached something of a clearing, Dmex began to pace about, fretting with her hands behind her back.

The shroud of cosmic energy around her remains low-level, but constant, brimming over.

"Figured out why I'm still alive, which is the particularly pressing thing - and part of what I needed Caprise for."

In a snap, she lets one of her hands loose in front of her, and it trails much brighter starlight behind it.

"It's a good lead. Something I need to follow."

Dmex says, "In other words - feeling better, yes."
Zolin watch with a bit of excitement at the lightshow, not fully understanding it by any means, but was still rather intrigued. "Aha, something to do with that, or is it something different? But yes, I'm very glad that you're feeling better! I imagine it's been pretty rough."

As she paces, she wonders whether or not to give firm details to Zolin - after all, she's probably just going to have to repeat herself once Caprise arrived.

Screw it - it's worth it.

"By the time I lost consciousness, I'd taken in enough Cosmic energy that - even though I would've bled out left alone-"

As she speaks, some excitement pushes through her lingering frustration, and it's reflected by the starlight around her growing more intense.

"-There was still enough of something to work with, to drag myself back to the Hand and survive."

He nodded to her, looking even more impressed as he took it in. "Oh wow... I see, I didn't even know it be used in that way. Only makes me want to study even more...", he said, rubbing his chin a bit.

"But yes, I'm quite glad to hear all that. Shame you had to crawl back in such a state, but you persevered and made it. I wonder, does the tecnique have a name yet you think, or was it something special perhaps?"

The idea of a name - or it even being a distinct technique in the first place - gave her some pause.

"If it has a name already, I don't know it."

She extends a hand out towards the air, glimmering brightly with the energy of the night sky, inspecting it.

"...Something's terrifying about it, having your body effectively commandeered by a star. At least it was done to save my life."

He nodded a bit more, giving her a grin. "Well, congratulations on it all, especially if does end up as a true new discovery. I've been meaning to try and learn a bit of it myself as well, though I haven't been entirely sure where best to start..."

He looked up at her, "As for the comandeering part, it's only temporary, right? I'd say it might certainly be worth it all, considering what it can do."

Both points Zolin raises earn a sharp nod in response from Dmex - the congratulations, as well as the fleeting nature of the technique.

"If I can get Caprise informed - I'd like to take him with me on a journey, I've already told him of such."

Her head tilts off to the far north-east, looking for the distant shape of the mountain peak contrasted against the night sky.

"I guess it has more of a specific goal, now. Get closer to the source of my Cosmic, and create a consistent vector for talents such as that."

Zolin nodded, peering off that way as well. "I see... I think he might be able to help yes, seems quite capable too from what I've heard. I wonder if there are any other particularly high mountains out there too... Anything that might let one get closer ot the sky.", he said, pondering it all quite curiously.

Still, he gave her a soft smile and reached out to try and gently pat and rub her shoulder a bit as he continued. "Still, it's good to hear that you managed to get this far. I imagine it'd be quite amazing to go to a place like that... Almost makes me wonder if somebody like me could benefit as well, but I can't say I know how dangerous the journey would be."

Dmex asks, "Well. Caprise did warn me that - stars sometimes attempt to... duel their followers, making sure they have earned it?"

Dmex says, "In other words. I might have to fistfight a star."

Dmex says, "I'm so excited."

He grinned warmly as he nodded to her. "Sounds quite exciting I have to say~ Still, going up against it like that to prove things... I hope it all manages to work out and you can do it all safely. Would definitely be amazing if you could pull it off!"

Dmex says, "Yes, yes - but - not tonight."

Dmex says, "...I think I need a new place to sleep."

Dmex says, "I might wake up with a knife in my back if I do it in the Hand barracks."
He nodded to her, frowning as he heard that. "Indeed, most definitely. Wouldn't want to rush into it or anything. Still, I think it would be good to try and find a good place to stay for a bit, get some good rest. Still... I am rather curious as to who might try it, and why...", he said, frowning a bit.

"I ran into the guy who did that to you earlier as well. He managed to chase off a hyena demon, but still ended up being caught later after he attracted a bunch of attention. Still, I think I saw him free again tonight...", he said, frowning a bit more.

Oh, right. Probably should address that part before she passes out or something. Dmex clears her throat, deciding to take each point in the rough order they'd occurred.

"Cherub's dealt with. I hold no significant ill-will towards him any longer."

The Hand, however?

"...Because I don't have much ill-will towards him anymore, some of the higher-ups with the Hand are... unhappy with me. I chose mercy, one time, and that was one time too many for them."

Dmex shakes her head, looking more genuinely discomforted by this than anything else.

"I knew I couldn't have killed him. I'd never be able to take that to heart. So... I'm on thin-ice, for not having enough blind bloodlust."

During her rant, an idea for where to actually sleep popped into her head, so at least it was good for something.

"South of here. Two old friends had a house - both of them left Agartha, now. Might still be standing, and I can't imagine they'd mind me using it for a night."

He nodded a bit again to her there, "Well, while I'm very glad that issue of him being a threat is getting solved, but to think they'd act like that... It's a real shame really if that's the case. Still, I ought to learn more about the Hand sometime, dunno much other than hearing the name."

Dmex says, "...If you don't mind, I think I'm going to go see if that house is still standing."

Zolin exclaims, "Alright, no worries. Hope it all works out well for you and it is. Most importantly though, do try to stay safe!"

Dmex says, "Yes yes, will do."
