  1. With the one year anniversary on the horizon, I believe it’s time to address some long-standing issues the game. The original FGO was not a great game. Its runaway success was due to the strength of the license. In 2015, the mobage scene is was not as developed as it is now. Quality of life features and gacha systems have become more complex since then.
  2.
  3. Of all the regions where FGO exists, we have the least amount of QoL improvements, the least amount of content, and arguably the least amount of currency giveaway. In NA, the popularity of the Fate license is far below its popularity overseas. How long can this be sustained? With new gacha games coming out every month with bells and whistles attached, sticking with FGO seems like a worse and worse proposition, to say the least of growing the player base . The localization, while competent, seems like the bare minimum effort compared to its brethren.
  4.
  5. We all know what’s going to happen within 8 or so months. A content drought. Re-runs for an entire year and then some. Scant few chapters of Epic of Remnant. As I mentioned earlier, the situation in Japan is different than in NA. The license is not nearly as popular here as there. Mobage players are less fanatical in general. Many players here follow the JP game religiously and a perpetual 2 year wait is draining. I’m personally predicting a large player drop off in year two. Can the game survive delivering the “same” experience that JP players received?
  6.
  7. I understand as a foreign subsidiary your resources are limited, and you’re beholden to the whims of your parent company in Japan. That’s why I’m petitioning you in the hopes that you can lobby Aniplex JP for more resources, or to hand over management of the game to a third party like Biligames in China or NetMarble in Korea. At the least, I believe it’s time to abandon the “JP experience” and figure out how to accelerate the content. Maybe not at the Korean level, but perhaps at the Taiwan level.
  8.
  9. If you wait until year two to address some of these problems, it will likely be too late. It’s time to consider what FGO NA will look like in the next year.
  10.
  11. Just to couch this letter in discrete terms, here are some issues that I believe players would like addressed.
  12.
  13. Micro:
  14. Animation Updates
  15. Strengthening Quests and Interludes
  16. Opening “boxes” in events like Santa Alter and Nero Colosseum
  17. Auto Sell in FP gacha
  18.
  19. Macro:
  20. Material drop rates
  21. Content localization schedule
  22. Community interaction and give aways
  23.
  24. I understand your team does not actually have a dedicated programming department, which is why you’re beholden to the original patch schedule? It might be prudent to invest in one.
  25.
  26. Thank you,
  27. A concerned player
