  1. [17:01] Fennel gestures for Violet to come along so that she isn't left wading in the sides and staring off into space. A habit of hers that comes quite easy.
  2.
  3. "Mother would have done worse. As I said, she's tough."
  4. (Fennel Loire)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [17:05] Seifer settles at one of the tables in the secret, hidden library tucked away from the world. It would be quiet here and no one would disturb them, surely. With an assignment so broad and up for interpretation in mind the young student begun with an important question.
  8.
  9. "Alright, so— I'm Seifer. It's nice to meet you two!" Introductions first. "The first question I have for you...
  10.
  11. .. You two, I guess, is:
  12.
  13. How do you define power? What do you think of when someone speaks of people with power? What does it mean to you two?"
  14. (Seifer Gardios)
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. [17:10] Violet blinked several times, unsure what he meant by his question. It seemed random and truthfully she had not been fully paying attention on why they had come here. The Drakanite sleepily peered around the library before shaking her head.
  18.
  19. She knew where they were, at the very least. She had come here before when she had been a student.
  20.
  21. "I think of my mother." She answered, succinct and to the point.
  22. (Violet Vartuul)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [17:10] Seating themselves down he allows his momentarily air headed wife the pleasure of sitting!
  26.
  27. He has no tea, which is sad, but he instead takes the time to ponder on some things, namely how Dallan managed to get away. Next time, perhaps he would not be so lucky.
  28.
  29. --Oh, a question. "Power?" The topic of such does not catch him off guard but he's never had someone directly ask him what it means to them. A well rounded question.
  30.
  31. "If I were to define power. .
  32.
  33. I would say that it is the manifestation of one's ability to make something happen. Their dreams, their wants, their needs. When I think of power. . I think of fate."
  34. (Fennel Loire)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [17:12] Fennel's answer was the more useful one, yet Violet's seemed far, far more intriguing. A tilt of the boy's head came with him pulling out a worn-out, completely distressed book in order to jut down a few notes directly into it.
  38.
  39. "How does it make you think of your mother?" He asked the Drakanite. There was no need to jump on the next question right away; patient brought the greatest results at times.
  40. (Seifer Gardios)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [17:13] Violet Vartuul says, "My mother is stronger than you can ever imagine."
  44. [17:13] Violet Vartuul says, "That's why."
  45. [17:14] Seifer Gardios says, ".. I see..."
  46. [17:17] A small nod follows before he decides to move on with the next question; where one saw it as a way to seize fate itself, the other only saw the more... physical aspect of it— strength above all.
  47.
  48. "For the second question I... do need a bit of explanation with it. Whenever something vile, some dark magic, or some forbidden arts are used the world is damaged. Tears in space is the best example of how it happens, typically. What I was wondering is:
  49.
  50. If you had power, how would you handle this damage left on the world? How do you figure is the best way to mend it?"
  51.
  52. It was a complicated question and quite obviously the centerpiece of his reasons for dragging these two here.
  53. (Seifer Gardios)
  54. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  55.
  56. [17:19] "The world we live in. . .
  57.
  58. Is a place meant to change. Whether that's good or bad, change comes no matter what." Does he consider it a damaging feature to alter the world to better suit your survival needs? No, of course not.
  59.
  60. "My method of damage control would be the people. You see, what is someone's survival is another persons past-time, and because of that there is no true understanding between others.
  61.
  62. Thus, you must show them what they do not understand."
  63. (Fennel Loire)
  64. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  65.
  66. [17:22] A rather heartwarming answer and the kind that Zhrani would probably deliver, too, though Seifer wanted more, seeking just a bit further - past the veil of emotions alone.
  67.
  68. "And you would have those people aid in controlling and repairing that damage together?"
  69. (Seifer Gardios)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. [17:23] "I would kill them."
  73.
  74. Fennel is concise, gentle, soft as he says it, yet firm and sturdy. The answer is a simple one, and there is not much else that needs to be said, yet he does. "Their retribution would teach others after them just how dire change truly is, and how the real damage comes from insisting upon harming those who, too, require survival."
  75. (Fennel Loire)
  76. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  77.
  78. [17:27] Extermination.
  79.
  80. It was far more brutal than he'd expected but Seifer's duty in this moment was neither to judge nor to give his opinion. He was there to learn and figure out a way to aid the world and its troubles. Perhaps Ethric had wanted him to travel and form a theory of his own in order to draw from each and every person he met rather than relying upon one old man's view.
  81.
  82. It took the boy long enough to realize something he was already applying, right from the moment the Headmaster had asked him to enroll.
  83.
  84. "To make an example of those who damage it... I see."
  85.
  86. A brief moment of thought was had before the young one nodded.
  87.
  88. "I have a final question, then.
  89.
  90. Do you believe we should put our needs above the needs of the world?"
  91. (Seifer Gardios)
  92. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93.
  94. [17:31] "Something like that, yes."
  95.
  96. 'It' being survival, change being the means to do so. Whatever these people felt, how strongly they felt it. This did not mean they were in the right to terminate those who would do nothing but live their lives.
  97.
  98. Unfortunately that was the world they lived in. Where those with wicked blood had no choice in the matter, and so. what else would they do, but turn the coin on its head and reciprocate?
  99.
  100. ". . .I suppose that is the most difficult question to date, my young friend.
  101.
  102. That depends. Does the world need more than what it has, is the world truly suffering from the needs of one, or two, or a plethora of people?
  103.
  104. And to that, does such a people require so much that the world need to be spun to achieve it? Subjective, all of this is. I would say that question has two answers."
  105. (Fennel Loire)
  106. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  107.
  108. [17:34] Two answers.
  109.
  110. From them both he could see how valid it was; if the world was not suffering from one's greed, then why hold it back?
  111.
  112. And in turn, should people see the world as their own playground, having it shift to meet their demand?
  113.
  114. A complicated balance.
  115.
  116. ".. Thank you. I think I have all I need from you for this assignment." He said, offering a bright smile.
  117.
  118. "Is there anything I can do for you?"
  119. (Seifer Gardios)
  120. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  121.
  122. [18:01] Seifer's words only bring a smile to his face. Someone who understands, truly. Or so the child-like understanding of a young one at least understands the black and whites.
  123.
  124. He feels at the very least thankful for the talk as well, and Fennel shakes his head. "I suppose not. Although, perhaps you'd be willing to send me a letter if Dallan shows his head once more around these parts?
  125.
  126. He's long overdue some form of retribution."
  127. (Fennel Loire)
  128. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  129.
  130. [18:01] Seifer Gardios says, ".. I don't think beating him will make him leave."
  131. [18:02] Seifer shakes his head, lightly.
  132.
  133. "He holds a pretty popular class. But if you want to make sure he doesn't come back you could always get hired as a teacher."
  134.
  135. Who would've guessed that Ethric's pupil would make such a suggestion?
  136. (Seifer Gardios)
  137. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  138.
  139. [18:02] Fennel Loire says, "Blegh..kids."
  140. [18:02] Fennel Loire exclaims, "I'd probably go insane!"
  141. [18:03] Violet Vartuul says, "....."
  142. [18:04] Fennel looks at Violet in silence..
  143. (Fennel Loire)
  144. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  145.
  146. [18:04] Fennel Loire asks, "What?"
  147. [18:04] Seifer Gardios says, "..."
  148. [18:04] Fennel Loire asks, "Whaaaat?"
  149. [18:04] Seifer Gardios says, "I... will leave before she strikes you down."
  150. [18:05] Fennel Loire exclaims, "I've done no wrong!"
  151. [18:05] Seifer Gardios exclaims, "Thank you for your time, Miss Loire's brother!"
  152. [18:05] Fennel Loire exclaims, "--F-fennel!"
