- Summary of recent events, for Tager, with love <3 ;)
- -----------------------------------------------------
- GCAH and monokemono are having trouble scheduling their match (round 1). Their timezones and schedules are super incompatible.
- It has now been 10 days since their match was assigned (3 days past the technical deadline), so we need to step in.
- Mono and GCAH managed to schedule their match for today (Monday, September 21st). GCAH had to leave work early in order to make it. GCAH leaves work early to do his match, and mono does not show up to it. Mono goes dark on Discord for hours, eventually apologizes, saying he fell asleep with a cold.
- GCAH and mono were spoken to about a possible solution.
- GCAH cannot take time off of work again to do a match. Their schedules are still incompatible, and they cannot do their match within the next few days.
- There are two possible solutions that have been proposed and discussed:
- 1.) Mono is DQ'd, the match does not happen, GCAH moves on
- 2.) The runners do their runs at different times, rather than together at the same time. This is how situations like this were handled in prior tournaments. The general idea is that both runners will tell staff when they will do their run (but they will not tell each other). Then, at that time, they livestream a single run. Timer for the tournament run begins the first time they hit new game, includes time spent resetting. Best time wins. One idea RedHot brought up was for the runners to stream their matches to alternate Twitch accounts. They can stream to newly created Twitch accounts, NOT set their game to FM, and have a random title. That way, no one from the tournament can find the stream except staff who have the link. This makes it so both runners will NOT know the final time of their opponent, which would give them an advantage.
- At the moment, GFC, RedHot, and BadNewsNate all agree that option 2 (with the alt idea) is the best option, since a match done separately is better than no match at all.
- The sooner this is decided on, the better, so we just need your input before we move forward, tager.
