  1. The Ballad of UJ
  2. - after J Ecklar & A Prather "Pushin' the speed of light"
  3.
  4. Oh the clans will fight 'neath a hundred suns, in pubs and in Organized
  5. And they'll pick a battle with everyone, they will not be denied
  6. So the call went out to all those who'd come: "Let's go fight the Fox and the Falcon Clan"
  7. And some big names for the IS signed on - all itching for a fight. All itching for a fight
  8.
  9. So we gathered up 'bout a dozen men for to reenact Tukayyid again. Urban Jungle would be the Site. UJ was where we'd fight.
  10.
  11. Now saddle up all and down south went we - two cap, all others ride
  12. But the clanners were stuck in their factory, all queued up in F5
  13. Although sorting that out took them a spell, they did manage to cap the E-line well
  14. They grouped near that fac so at mid we held, and skirmished down in E5 - took from them point E5
  15.
  16. Well we held mid point, but we got chewed up - that was a decent fight
  17. And the caps were then traded forth and back - we got all but C5
  18. So they all stacked up and, well, so did we. Near the highways south of that point, you see.
  19. Oh, just what a clash there was gonna be, at the highway in Delta 5. That highway fight in D5!
  20.
  21. Now they pushed us back to E7 clear, trying to take that side.
  22. But they ran right into fresh units here, bidding their force 'good night'.
  23. Then we tore them up through the other caps, till they had naught left but their starting fac
  24. It may have been tough but they still came back, and faced us there in E5. Gave us a big ol' fight
  25.
  26. Well they got C5 for a final time - tanks were what they would buy.
  27. And we saw that we could scarce hold the line. We feared that we might die.
  28. But our flankers came and an Archie, too. So most tanks pulled back to group up anew.
  29. We destroyed those left and we rolled right through, pushing into C5. Fell on them in C5
  30.
  31. There the day was won and their tickets spent while we still had three hundred on our end. Oh the clans lost that UJ fight. UJ was where they died.

  35. --------------------------
  36. A/N:
  37. I'm aware that the end is slightly misleading - Clan forces did manage to hold against that final IS push and even chase us back to the E7 factory, giving such forces as remained hell on the way.
  38. But the ticket count was as noted in the last line before that happened, so they did lose either way. And I reckon the song is long enough as is, without adding another verse to clarify that - it's one longer than the original already
  39. Plus, it seems to be pretty close to the classical drama rules.
  40.
  41. Thanks to:
  42. - Everyone involved in that event - for the event and all the fun that spawned this
  43. - J. Ecklar and A. Prather - for the original song (additionally: apologies for what I did to it)
  44. - Django - for the video 'Push it' that pretty much planted the seed for this idea, even before the event
  45. - Leeko - for streaming clan-side so I could double-check and cross-reference events
  46. - Ressk, Hammerzeitgeist and RickHunter - for enabling me by leaving positive feedback when I shared the first verse
  47. - my family - for all the practice doing this to other songs in the past
