  1. The Giant was back, still in the nice chair and robe from last night.

  3. "One last thing before my FCC-mandated censure is up: I can't walk down the street now without people noticing me and saying "Oh, what a shame, you were my hero" or "Oh, I can't believe you did that!" If I learned anything in WCW, it's that there are no real heroes! For example, the guy everyone knows and loves, from Florida to Saskatchewan, in WCW, in WWF, hell, even in Philadelphia: Ric Flair. He's the Nature Boy, the man who exemplifies everything good and pure about the sport! He's no better than any of them.

  5. You saw Halloween Havoc, and you saw the state he was in. You probably wrote it off as that silly old Nature Boy having an off night after a few too many nights on the town. No way. Flair tanked that match on purpose. You see, he's gotten himself a reputation for being consistent. He's the guy who'll go out and put on a 4 and a half star contest with a bag of fertilizer six nights out of seven, and on the seventh night, he'll make it 5 stars. And he knows this. The head honchos wanted Flair vs Regal to be a fucking barnburner, close out October with a full on five star classic, putting a thumb in the eye of Vince McMahon. Nature Boy got himself an idea. He would put on a downright shameful performance, and those guys in the back would love him so much that he'd be forgiven. More than that, they'd take pity on him, and after Scott Hall postponed his shot to February, Ol' Naitch would get that Starrcade shot. He'd get that Starrcade main event, Evander Holyfield and all, and whether he won or lost, Naitch was determined to pull a Hogan and make it all about himself. The Nature Boy finally beating the King, or The Nature Boy being gracious in defeat and presenting the King with the belt he'd finally earned. Either way, it was going to be the Ric Flair show, making Regal look like chopped liver and making Ric Flair WCW's face again. His matches with Anderson came close to doing it, but this would have been his moment.

  7. Unfortunately for Flair, Chris Benoit got that shot, and Flair's been left in the dust. The young guys finally get one over, eh? Well, hope you guys enjoy your Christmas, and have a happy new year. Hell, I'm just glad I'm not back in WCW. If I was back there, I'd be dressed as Baby New Year, diaper and all. And speaking of the new year, don't miss next week's Raw. It's gonna be a big show. Really, really big."
