Intelligence and sapience:

• Adult Hassenfeld ponies are as intelligent as humans.

Models:

• Hassenfeld ponies come in different models. Personality varies widely with nurture, but to the extent that personality and intelligence are innate, a Hassenfeld pony will generally reflect its FIM counterpart.

Training:

• Hassenfeld ponies need to be trained with positive or negative punishment, especially early in life during housebreaking. Hassenfeld Bros discourages corporal punishment.

Distress Signals:

• Hassenfeld ponies have instinctive distress signals that can be activated by excessive abuse. Different ponies have different tolerances for punishment and pain, but the activation of distress signals alerts Hassenfeld Bros and will result in a visit from a social worker.


Q: Will spanking or beating result in the activation of distress signals?
A: Hasbio does not condone beating. Corrective spanking or beating will generally not result in the activation of distress signals, but if you go overboard, or beat him or her for no reason at all, then their distress signals may fire.

Magic and Flying:

• Unicorn models can perform basic telekinesis using patented bioengineering technology.
• All pegasi are shipped with anti-flight belts. Simply install the belt around their midsection, and they can neither spread their wings nor remove the belt.

Life Expectancy:

• Hassenfeld ponies live 20-25 years.

Reproduction:

• Hassenfeld ponies cannot reproduce with humans and are usually infertile, but in rare cases may be able to reproduce with other Hassenfeld ponies.
• If you wish to raise a child with your pony, we recommend purchasing a Hassenfeld pony and raising him or her on a regular diet rather than nutrient paste. This will result in the pony aging naturally over a span of approximately five years.

Q: Is this a form of slavery?

A: It is not considered slavery, as on paper, you are a caretaker, not an owner. They are companions, not property. It is no different from owning a dog or cat, with the exception of the ponies' sapience. Most Hassenfeld ponies love their owners, and if you raise your pony with love and care, he or she will seldom consider it slavery. However, in rare cases depending on treatment and disposition, a pony may interpret it as slavery. Even if a pony interprets it as slavery, their owner has still imprinted on them, and they will maintain feelings for and sexual attraction toward their owner.
