- MUSIC FOR THE END OF THE WORLD: 2.0
- So. True Music just got the absolutely legendary addition of a Walkman--a feature people had been clamoring for for over a year. There's just one, big thing missing from True Music...
- That's right.
- RADIO AT THE END OF THE WORLD.
- This system allows vanilla radios to play music from one of up to 10 stations; 8 default, 1 for the Silent Hill pack, and 1 for the Home Labelled pack, if you have them enabled. Almost all of the music in MFTEOTW has been sorted into each of these stations, and one station exists that plays completely random music.
- Not only that, but these stations also come with hosts, to make them feel real! Each station has a unique host (except for the Silent Hill station), who provides dialogue to transition songs, announces song names, and even stops to talk to the audience for a bit on rare occasions. Each host has 15 or more long form topics that they'll dole out over the course of in-game months, as well as a lot of smaller transitions. These are just starting numbers, too; I'll be updating at least occasionally to load more into the mod, to keep them feeling fresh.
- - Implemented Albums and Mixes: A new system that allows modders to create items that can play multiple song files in sequence. That's right: Albums, without any extra file size. In MFTEOTW, this system is used to provide Artist Mixes--music items that will play every song from an artist. I will provide this system free to other True Music modders who want to implement it in their own mods.
- - Extended the Loot System: MFTEOTW's loot system is now completely compatible with 99% of all other True Music mods. It assigns a display category to Cassettes and Vinyls, and then removes all of those items from the drop table, instead adding them to MFTEOTW's own drop tables. This will not work with mods that add new drop locations onto the vanilla True Music ones, but the worst that will happen is that you'll see more/only tracks from such mods in non-vanilla containers.
- The above three features were almost entirely coded by the incredibly talented and endlessly helpful Albion, with myself doing the grunt work of integrating these new systems into MFTEOTW and writing for the hosts.
- - Implemented Special Guests: A new feature introducing 20 unique new zombies. These zombies require a constellation of specific cosmetic mods to appear, listed in this collection, but each one carries a personal playlist of 10 cassettes as well as a full outfit of interesting clothes and even some unique recolors of modded items.
- Thank you to CosmicB for teaching me how to implement new zombies. Check out their workshop page here.
- - Implemented changes to improve stability of spawning. Hopefully you should see far, far fewer of the 'blank' (Wait for a moment or stop using proximity inv...) cassettes and vinyls.
- - Hoards, Boxes and Stacks will contain 1-3 dance cards if you have True Actions: Dancing enabled.
- - Vanilla survivor/raider/punk zombies can now drop cassettes, even without Zed Drops on. If you have Undead Survivor enabled, all zombies besides Amazona zombies will also drop 5-6 cassettes on death. Both of these can be enabled or disabled under MFTEOTW: Zombies.
- - Replaced Cheap Trick - Out in the Street with The Whispers - And the Beat Goes On (1979) because the former song was not actually from before 1993.
- - Replaced Silent Hill track 'World of Madness' with 'The Day of Night'.
- - Replaced soundfile for Maggie Reilly - Everytime We Touch (1992) with the correct soundfile, as it was previously using the Cascada version.
- - Reduced drop chance of Easter Egg cassettes.
- - Fixed Rich Girl being credited to "Daryl Hall & John Oates" instead of "Hall & Oates" like the rest of the H&O songs.
- - Removed vestigial Home Labelled branch.
- - Fixed some sandbox translation file errors.
