  1. Act 1
  2. Just as the birds who migrated south came back to their homes, the trees began to take back their old forms as the lords of greenery. On that fateful day the Robotops restaurant had it's annual 'all you can eat' birthday. Customers were allowed to eat more a line of sel-serve dishes for a fixed price. The reason behind this this sudden act of goodwill was the simple fact that it was the restaurant's birthday. A joyful time of the year that Mr. Simmons thought was at the same level as christmas. Because as you might know, during christmas people spend a lot of cash in shops. So why couldn't he get more customers on his own personal christmas?
  3.
  4. The best part of this - mostly for the two waitresses - was the fact they had a day without getting in touch with any kind of of irritating customers. One of them was calmly leaning on a wall near the kitchen door. Her arms crossed and her eyes looking at the dozen of humans enjoying their meal. Her expression showed nothing more than boredom and the shining light of spirng were lighting up her short blond hair like gold would.
  5. "Hello Beverly!" another nandroid showed up. She was replacing empty containers with new ones, full of fresh food.
  6. "Yes, Bonny we met before." she responded while rolling her eyes. "In fact you are the first 'person' I meet. Everyday."
  7. "But humans greet each other multiple times too..." the robot stopped her work for a moment and looked at her co-worker.
  8. "I hate to break it to you but last time I chekced, we are not organic." Beverly stepped away from the wall and walked in the opposite direction of her coworker.
  9. "Well not with that attitude." Bonny whispered to herself as she grabbed the empty containers and went back to the kitchen.
  10.
  11. Later the two met each other once again. It was only a few hours after twelve o'clock and even in a calm day like this there was still work to do. When no new customers arrived, the two nandroids cleaned the free tables.
  12. "Kids these days amirite?" Bonny exclaimed as she began cleaning the table. Most of the time this fake feeling of nostalgia overcame her. As if she was made during the 'good old days' she mentions from time to time. "They don't know that you aren't supposed to play with your food hehe."
  13. "Did you hear that one on the radio too?" deep inside, Bonny's programming told her to stand her ground but instead she tried to her best to achive the most optimistic outcome. She was called 'the innocent one' in the restaurant's workforce for a reason.
  14. "You say it like that's a bad thing! I hope you will turn it on in the future. I know the date when they invite a psychiatrist to a talk show I think we could learn a lot from him!" she argued. Beverly murmured something to herself and while Bonny could't understand what she could have said, she knew that it couldn't have been anything nice.
  15.
  16. After cleaning up every dirty part of the table, the customers stopped their chatter. Some were confused while others - who toild the rest to stop speaking were looking outside.
  17. "Woah are you seeing this? The humans learned how to eat with their mouths closed." Beverly snarled. She kept her cool until Bonny touched her right shoulder and asked her dear friend.
  18. "Do you also hear that?" Beverly opened her mouth, ready to reply with a no but then she noticed something. A rythm. The ground was mildly shaking for a brief period of time. The shaking only repeated after a few seconds and most humans were worried. "What is this an earthquake? Hey earthquakes don't happen around here."
  19. "Beverly... I think I see it." Bonny's tone became serious. She pointed at the entrance and as her companion turned her head towards the door she also saw him...
  20.
  21. A man, dressed in a grey suit, taller than any man that have stepped inside the diner before this event. The hideous expression on his face spoke of nothing but abnormal calmness. His overweight frame came towards the simple glass doors of the restaurant and each step made mother earth feel his presence. He opened the gates of Robotops and made his first step inside. His accursed torso of bodyfat could fit through yet instead of thinking about a more logical way to enter the building he gathered his strength and through brute force alone he manged to make his way into the home of these humble automatons. As he pushed himself through the entrance he managed to shape the bricks in the wall and the two doors into a form that allowed him to step inside. Once he realized that he successfully infiltrated the diner he looked at the two waitresses then he noticed a free table. The same one Bonny and Beverly cleaned a few minutes ago. As this hefty man tried to sit down, he managed to break the tale itself by accident. Not caring for the damage he caused he simply grabbed the broken piece of furniture and put it between his accursed belly and the chair in front of him. Not sure on how to proceeed, Beverly pushed her colleague in the direction of the enormous client.
  22. "S-sir I belive you have to pay for that..." she gurgled. The sentence sounded more of a question that statement. The massive man, pointed at the big selection of food to his left and took a deep breath.
  23. "Three plates of chicken, ten plates of nothing but rice, five bowls of soup, enough beef that the entire table is covered and a medium glass of tap water." he ordered the nandroids like if he owned the entire place.
  24. "Well you see in all you can eat buffets you have to-" Bonny couldn't finish the rules of all you can eat restaurants in time as the hungry beast of desire simply threw a pile of money at her.
  25. "Hey this is all a hundred bucks!" Beverly shouted. But her optimism disappeared as she looked up again and noticed the angry eyes of their biggest customer yet...
  26.
  27. After doing what he asked for, the gigantic avatar of consumption began it's feast of madness. According to the calculations of Beverly, this man alone, ate the dinner of a multigenerational family under half an hour. He kept asking for more and more and the two couldn't do anything as he paid with huge amounts of money. This one man alone could have paid for the dinner of every single man woman and child who visited the Robotops on a friday. His hunger was strong enough to make a few people go out and go for round two. But after thirty minutes there was nothing left. The cooks were alerted and the kitchen started working hard, thinking that the lack of food outside was thanks to the huge amount of families who came to have a nice peaceful dinner. The calculation of artifical intelligence were proven wrong for the first time in the history of science.
  28.
  29. At first the rest of the nandroids thought that everything was normal. But only after a minute of sending out another great amount of food, they were told that more was needed. This happened for at least an hour. The situation seemed hopeless and the other organic patrons were starting to get annoyed because of the circus that was playing out behind their backs. Many left after losing hope of having a nice dinner. Bonny gave another bowl of soup to the fat basterd who was roughly twenty times larger than her. She had the weird feeling that at any moment, he could go on a rampage and eat everyone in the building.
  30. "We really need to tell this to Mr. Simmons. This is the third family that left in the past three seconds." she whined.
  31. "Do you see how much cash he has? I think the rest can wait." Beverly cheerfully replied while she counted the all the green bills they got from satisfying this one man. Even after getting all this money, Bonny couldn't throw away the feeling that the entire deal is just unfair. She noticed the irritated expressions of everyone. Beverly clearly didn't care. As if she forgot that while their job was working in a restaurant, to make their owner richer, they were also ordered to satisfy the customers. A fine establishment such as the Robotops claimed itself as the pinnacle of equality. Here every social class can just sit down and enjoy the same coffee and the same food. A true embodiment of justice. Bonny had decided that she will do the morally right choice, even if she has to lose a friend. She got herself together and walked into the kitchen.
  32.
  33. In the kitchen, Bonny saw Tory, the caretaker of Simmons and asked where the old man was.
  34. "I'm here, I'm here what do you need sweetheart?" he shuted from the end of the room where he was apperently taking out the trash himself for the first time in many years.
  35. "Sir, I need to tell you about the current situation outside." she said without hesitation.
  36. "I need to pay child support?" Simmons asked as he started washing his hands.
  37. "No sir. It has to do with-" before Bonny could finish her sentence she saw her master walking towards his room. "Sir it's important! It's money related!"
  38. "Oh? Go on then." upon hearing the word 'money' he swiftly turned around.
  39. "A robust gentleman is eating everything we have and no one can get to the food!" Mr. Simmons raised his eyebrow then he shrugged.
  40. "Alright, I'll see what I can do" he responded with a shrug and the two walked out of the kitchen only to see the cruel reality of the situation.
  41.
  42. Every customer who wasn't the now famous portly gentleman was shouting with rage. The people didn't want anything more than a plate full of mouth-watering authentic nandroid cooking and the stubbornness of one person alone stopped dozens from achieving this dream.
  43. "Robust? This is the fattest bastard I have ever seen!" Mr. Simmons shouted with a mix of confusion and disgust. His voice even cracked mid sentence. "Alright buddy show's over now get out and leave something for the rest of the city."
  44. "Yeah let us eat too fatty!" a father of two shouted behind the back of Simmons.
  45. Without showing any reaction, the giant pulled out a gold bar from his shirt. Without even realizing that it was covered in sweat, Simmons took it and asked a simple question.
  46. "A kilo of gold?" he looked up and started cleaning the shiny piece of metal with a tissue.
  47. "Yep." the monstrosity answered after biting into achicken wing. The old man simply put the gold into his pocket, turned around and yelled out.
  48. "He'll finish eventually." then he calmly walked back into the kitchen. The restaurant became silent after that. The only things that were still maing noise, were the dozens of automobiles outside and the calm munches of a really really hungry person.
  49.
  50. Act 2
  51. It has been five hours since his arrival. No one knew his name or where he came from but the man was gluttony incarnate. Only a few other customers stayed. Mostly because they really thought that his hunger has to end at one point.
  52.
  53. "I swear to Sterling, this guy has gotten bigger." Beverly confessed to a single mother nearby. A new routine was necessary in this situation. Just when the chubby man finsihed a plate, he threw money in the direction of the closes nandroid. So all the food that was prepared in the kitchen was immedietly served for him. Bonny walked back into the kitchen, ready to get another meal on the broken table, just like on any other day. He opened the door and she noticed a depressing detail.
  54. "Hey girls... Where is the food?" Tory looked at her sister and with a defeated look she said a sentence that will bring fear into anyone working in the restaurant industry. Human and robot alike.
  55. "We ran out of everything." she wept.
  56. "Everything?" Bonny gasped. If she had a heart it would have stopped upon hearing this.
  57. "Everything. All we have now is this lonely bell pepper." Tory responded as a chefdroid next to her raised the last fruit in the entire building. Bonny knew that she had to bring the news to the humans outside. She took the pepper and she could only say one word.
  58. "Damn." she bawled.
  59.
  60. Bonny went back outside but before she could make an announcement Beverly ran to her and started whispering.
  61. "C'mon the man is getting angry." but her kin didn't respond. Instead she jumped on top of a table.
  62. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry to say that the Robotops restaurant has ran out of ingredients." most people didn't say anything. They just grabbed their belongings and walked towards the entrance. But pudgy antagonist of this story couldn't belive what he heard.
  63. "I don't like that. I really don't like that." the man growled. He then stood up. Beverly's programming gave her the feeling that this man alone could eat her whole. This colossal man walked to the table Bonny was standing on and he pulled out his wallet. "Alright here is another thosand dollars now go back to work." the android looked at the big fat stack of dollars and shook her head. It was game over. "You are lying. They told you to lie... Yeah you want me gone eh?" and with that the giant turned towards the kicthen entrance and with paranoid rage he slowly walked towards it.
  64. "Sir! Sir please you can't go there!" Beverly jumped in front of the gentleman of Brobdingnagian proportions. "Please come back tomorrow!"
  65. "Oh yeah? And can you wait until I finish my seventh dinner?" the man replied. All hope was semmed to be lost.
  66.
  67. But then, as if out of nowhere Bonny yelled out.
  68. "But have you taken your daily dose of vitamin C?" the behemoth looked at the robot once more and he saw the pepper in her right hand, raised into the air.
  69. "Hmm now that you mention it I should go on a diet." the enormous chap strolled towards the machine who carefully stepped down from the table. She then charged for the exit the exit and opened the glass doors of the diner.
  70. "Don't make me mad or I'll call my lawyer."the man grunted under his breah as he dashed to the automaton. He reached out with to grab the pepper but before he could touch it, Bonny threw it into the back of a standing pickup truck nearby. Before the man could yell out for the driver to wait for him, the car started to move as the traffic light above it turned into a nice shade of green. The huge stranger started chasing the truck and he eventually disappeared from sight.
  71.
  72. As Bonny went back into the Robotops, she approched her fellow waitress.
  73. "What did we learn from this Beverly?" she asked with a calm look.
  74. "I have no idea." the other android gave her answer.
  75. "I don't know either." after Bonny replied, she took out a cleaning cloth seemingly out of nowhere and started cleaning a table nearby. Beverly noticed how empty the place was. Not a single human was there to bother her. She looked at her sister again and started wondering. Maybe Bonny unintentionally annoys her everday but at least she has someone to rely on. "We still have some work to do. I hope you don't mind if I bring out the radio from the garage."
  76. "Sure... I guess" Beverly murmured as she picked up a mop and went back to work.
