PMS 34

	* Halifax	wakes up on a bench outside of a restaurant. Her head swimming and a hangover stinging at her temples... She tries to remember how she got there, and she can remember the heated discussion with Elli'. But beyond that things get fuzzy...
	<Halifax>	...ugh...
	* Halifax	feels terrible. She decides to head back to the inn... Which way was that again?
	* Evone	searched the whole town for Halifax after she tied a kitchen knife to her hair and hid it in her tangled mess. Finally she chances across the captain on the beach. She runs over.
	<Evone>	"Cap'n! I've been lookin fer ya!"
	<Halifax>	"Eh?"
	* Halifax	looks up. Her hand to her head and eyes squinting even though it's not bright out...
	<Halifax>	Oh, Evone? What is it?
	<Evone>	"Jeez ye finally come back and we 'ar'ly see any o' ye. I dint even git ta share a victory round o' drinks fer servivin' tha shite we did. Wot ye even doin out 'ere?"
	* Halifax	chuckles and then winces...
	<Halifax>	Don't think I could take any more drinks right now... Got drunk and lost for a bit, now I'm just trying to shake the hang over. We'll celebrate later, 'kay?
	* Halifax	lays back on the sand so the world will stop spinning.
	* Evone	nods and sits down next to Halifax
	<Evone>	"Need 'elp gittin ta ye bed?"
	* Halifax	mutters in a jokingly whiny tone as she waves a hand...
	<Halifax>	Maybe later, I think I'll just pass out here for now...
	* Halifax	thinks for a moment...
	<Evone>	"Well I'll make sure nowun robs yer passed out arse then."
	<Halifax>	...thanks...
	<Evone>	"...So wot wuz it like?"
	<Halifax>	.....?
	<Evone>	"Wot happened to ye that you cudnt be wiff us."
	<Halifax>	Ah... Just some passing disease... nothing big now...
	* Halifax	remembers Elli's tirade earlier this morning. When did everyone get so curious about her well being?
	<Evone>	"well its good ye didn't suffer,"
	* Evone	says with a rueful smile
	<Evone>	"Wot caused ye to become a pirate anyway?"
	* Halifax	laughs a little at that... She can remember the feeling of them exiting in hordes... suffering was probably the least of her problems...
	<Halifax>	Me? Alot of things... It's a long story...
	<Evone>	"Well me time's worthless, so dunt let that stop ye."
	* Halifax	sighs...
	<Halifax>	Well... I guess it started when I was a little girl...
	<Evone>	"Iznt that 'ow it alwayz starts? I wuz a wee lass when I got caught up in this."
	<Halifax>	mhmmmm.... Dad was a merchant sailor and me an' my friends always played sailors and pirates and the like. My nickname was "captain" longer then I can remember...
	* Evone	nods and listens
	<Halifax>	When I was just a little older then you are now, I got new from the navy that my dad had died... Navy reported to me and mom that he was found to be a pirate and that his ship was impounded and he was executed...
	<Halifax>	Mom took it hard. She couldn't believe it, but to her there was nothing to it... For me though, I knew Dad wasn't in any dirty business. He'd taken me out to sea often enough for me to know. So I delved deeper...
	<Evone>	"A 'ard break."
	* Evone	frowns
	<Halifax>	A false report on a ship that looked like dads, a shoddy look out, and some poorly founded proof by some half-ass admiral. Rather then stain his reputation with false charges he had Daddy killed.
	<Halifax>	So I asked for my ship. The one Dad always promised I'd inherit when the time came to take over the family business.
	* Halifax	shakes her head slightly...
	<Halifax>	But they wouldn't give it up. Like they had any right to keep it.
	<Evone>	"So ye took to tha seas ta be sourge ta Navy an' anywun unlucky enough ta be in yer way?"
	<Halifax>	Nah... I don't care about the navy any more... I killed that Admiral the day I stole the boat back, figured that made us even enough. The rest was just trying to make ends meet. The rest of the crew had been labeled pirates just like dad... They had no life for them anymore...
	<Halifax>	Elli'... She was orphaned. And the others didn't have anything left... I guess our first raids were the worst... Acted like pirates out of the story books, just taking and burnin' and killin'...
	<Evone>	"When does it stop?"
	* Evone	says absently while staring at the sky
	<Halifax>	Well, I'm getting out of this job soon enough. And it's not like we've killed a soul who didn't deserve it in a long while now. So I guess there's that... I just hope everyone finds there own peace...
	<Evone>	"Really? Tha mighty cap'n 'alifax retirin'? 'ow long is a long while, anyhow."
	* Halifax	shrugs... She's been a pirate... for seven, almost eight years now?
	<Halifax>	About four years I guess...
	<Evone>	"...Wots it like killin sumwun?"
	<Halifax>	...it's too easy... it happens even when you don't want it to... and when you do, well I hope ya never do... it always ends up killing more then just them...
	<Evone>	"Ye regret it?"
	* Halifax	laughs...
	<Halifax>	I've killed too many people to not regret it...
	<Evone>	"Good."
	* Evone	has a determined expression and stands up
	<Evone>	"Well we really shuld git back."
	<Halifax>	hmmm... I suppose so. Just don't go telling anyone about this. The infamous pirate captain Halifax is a blood thirsty storm of trouble, and you're all safer as long as those rumors still exist... I don't ever want to see you guys get hurt...
	* Halifax	stands up a little unsteadily and knocks the sand off of her back...
	* Evone	snorts
	<Evone>	"Yeah like ye don so much ta spare me pain befer."
	* Halifax	raises an eyebrow to this...
	<Halifax>	You know I am sorry. Even if I never get around to saying it...
	<Halifax>	For killing them that is...
	* Evone	's eyebrows twitch
	<Evone>	"Hollow..."
	<Halifax>	Can't undo what's done, but I could at least see that their kid grows up alright... Something like that... They'd be proud you know.
	* Halifax	starts walking...
	<Halifax>	If I were you, I'd have killed me already...
	* Evone	quivers in fury then pulls out the knife and lunges it at Halifax
	<Evone>	"'ow dare you!"
	* Halifax	doesn't bother putting up a defense... She always wanted to make amends with a least one of the victims she had hurt over the years...
	* Evone	pulls the blade out to strike again
	<Evone>	"Ye dont even 'ave tha decinsy ta let me 'ate you!"
	* Evone	stabs at her again
	* Evone	sinks the knife one last time and then falls to her knees crying.
	* Halifax	falls...
	<Evone>	"Ye culdnt make this eazy on me eithah..."
	* Halifax	slowly reaches a hand out to pat Evone's knee. She can't muster the strength to say that she is proud of her too...
	* Evone	stares at Halifax like a deer in headlights
	* Evone	wraps her arms around Halifax and picks her up
	* Evone	walks into town with her to get her medical treatment
